I don't know when it's coming on here, just "soon" the tv adverts say.

Looking at Shadowlander's clip of Tom Baker - I can't believe how YOUNG he looks! When you watch these things as a kid, a 30 year old seems very old. :)

There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.

Hmm... Coracle, I've just seen it advertised as coming to Australia on April 30. I reckon New Zealand will get it pretty soon after then.

Spoiler
Also... the Doctor has repeatedly said that he can't cross his own timeline and yet they send him back to 1969? Ummm... He and Martha ended up in '69! Continuity issue?

But maybe it's different because those were two different places? Same year, roughly, but not same place.

ETA:

W4J; you probably already know this, but the reason why the US audience is getting DW on time this year is because BBC America heavily invested in the show, and sponsored the opening two-parter. Since they put money into it and are trying to get the show more viewers in the US, it makes sense that they'd make an effort to show it on time. :)

Ah, thanks Gymfan. Actually I didn't know BBC America had a part in the production of this new season. No ill will then! :)

Spoiler
Aye, but it was "space. 1969." And Martha says in Blink that they went to the moon landing. 3 times I believe. So they may very well be crossing timelines, but the writers are ignoring it.

Spoiler
I think crossing timelines is only a problem if someone directly interacts with their past/future self or if they attempt to alter some part of their own history. That's how it worked in the episode with the Reavers.

Of course he's acting braver, he's "Rory The Roman" now! ;)

*carefully avoids all the spoilers since I've not yet seen the new episode*

Shadowlander, it definitely sounds like we have similar memories of watching Tom Baker as the Doctor and Sarah Jane back in the 'olden days.' Ah, memories. :) Glad you enjoyed "School Reunion"; it's one of my favorites and quite well-done.

I'll watch the new episode and return with comments in a few days.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

I'd rather that they called him that than

Finally had a chance to view the new episode. Wow! Liked it very much.

I found a few things to chuckle about, such as

Spoiler
the TARDIS popping into the Oval Office. I also liked the banter between the time travelers, and the Doctor's Stetson.

I agree with many of the early comments, such as

Spoiler
the higher-end appearance of this episode, and the way the companions know more than the Doctor rather than the other way around.

And like many people,

Spoiler
I was glued to the TV when Apollo 11 went to the moon, so I'm eager to see the series 'revisit' that historic event.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Wow. Another great episode. I think this is setting up to be the very best season yet. But oh the burning questions left in the wake of that episode.

Spoiler
I'm assuming that based upon what River said about the spacesuit repairing itself that it is the empty suit that kills the Doctor. But if the Silence are all driven off of Earth, what was one doing at the lake when the spaceman killed the Doctor?

The end bit with Nixon was sad though. He was hoping the Doctor would tell him he was remembered as a great president and instead he's pretty much reviled. And in the Whoverse it would seem that's somewhat the Doctor's fault; he was the one who started Nixon down the road of paranoia.

And of course there's the question of why the Silence blew the TARDIS up. Was that revenge for them being driven off of Earth? Yet that seems fairly foolish considering it destroyed the universe. Also, where did they go when they left the Earth? Did they take someone else over?

Favorite bit after the River/Doctor kiss was Rory commenting after River shoots the place up , "What kind of Doctor are you?" and River shoots the Silent behind her and calmly replies "Archeology." =))

My theory on the little girl is that she is the child of Amy and Rory, but the fact that Amy and Rory are both time travelers has somehow altered their DNA. Maybe time traveling and being mutated by the time vortex is where the Time Lord got their regeneration powers from in the first place.

Oh. My. Gosh. That episode has totally blown my mind!!!

I seriously don't get

Spoiler
the kid. Who's child is it? Amy's? Or is it *gasp* the Doctor and River Song's?!?!

Also, what was with the TARDIS scanning Amy and having the "pregnancy scan" coming back as both negative and positive?!

I feel so sad for River. She loves the Doctor but he hardly even knows her. The realization that would be her last kiss was heartbreaking. But for us, we are just seeing their "relationship" blossom, and I'm excited!

On some of the web forums I frequent, they're

Spoiler
calling Amy's baby the Schrodinger Baby. I thought it was funny. ;))
