I'm from Louisiana, but my family moved to England last year because of my Dad's job. You might say that there was a small adjustment period!

AROOOOOOO!!!
Am I the only one in this thread from Utah? Wow. I feel lonesome.
A few things about Utah...
- Not everybody from Utah is Mormon. Yes, I'm Mormon, but there are actually quite a few people from other faiths. I would say that there are probably about 40% Mormons (that's still a lot, but not 100%, like most people think).
- Utah is a desert. We do get rain and snow, but a lot of our water supply comes from snow-melt in the mountains.
- Yes, we do eat a lot of Jello. No, not very many people eat green Jello. That was a fad that came and went.
- 2002 Olympics!
- Utah consumes more ice cream than any other state (last I heard). We even eat it in the winter.
- Compared to us, California drivers are mild. I've heard a lot of people say that Utah has the worst drivers they've ever seen.
- We're home to the largest open-pit copper mine in the world, Bingham Copper Mine, which can be seen from outer space.
- The Great Salt Lake is not as salty as it used to be. I hear it's a lot harder to float than it used to be.
- Believe it or not, boating is actually a popular summertime activity. How do we accomplish this in a land-locked state? We have a good number of reservoirs and lakes that are popular boating areas.
- Fry sauce (ketchup mixed with mayonnaise) is so popular you can even get it with your fries at McDonald's (and Arctic Circle, and just about any Fast Food place).
