Originally from Vancouver, B.C., Canada usually ranked first or second in the world as "most livable city"- the alternate choice is Melbourne, Australia, which tells us that whoever judges these things likes it damp
I have lived the last 28 years or so in Asia, 21 of them in Taiwan- I live in a small town on the East Coast, very undeveloped- good surfing- where it's still what the Portuguese named it- "Ilha Formhosa", the Beautiful Isle.
The difference is that people wanted to hear the stories, whereas I never met anyone who wanted to read the essays
North American, here! To be specific: the upper Northern area of Alabama.
And to clarify: we DO NOT all talk like Andy Griffith down here. Granted, there are those that do, but the majority of of Alabamians do not.
When I was little we lived just outside of Memphis, but now I live in Alabama! But I live in the part where a lot of people talk like Andy. Thankfully my country accent isn't quite that strong.

Edmund_The_Just, Aw, that must be frustrating!! I know there are a lot of Russian and European fans on the Narniafans site...guess it's just a matter of time before some more pop up around here (By the way, the number has risen to 5!!!! YAY!! )
Yes, The Chronicles of Narnia are very popular here - I myself was surprised by how much. I don't know anyone who has read and not liked the series. The books are generally more popular than the movies, although Voyage of the Dawn Treader film was an amazingly big hit and hugely welcomed by pretty much all Russian fans (which surprised us all very much). I think a large part of it's popularity had to do with the ending scene with Aslan.

I'm from Ontario, Canada (and loving it ).
Ah, this is where I have a dilemma. I've grown up in Japan, I'm British by nationality, and have just moved to Northern Ireland. But I've selected Asia since it has 0 votes and is looking lonely.

I'm from there, too! (And your phrase "and loving it" reminds me of the McDonald's jingle! )

Yes, Aslans Country, I can see how that would be a dilemma. (But I like your reasoning for choosing Asia: "Asia...has 0 votes and is looking lonely"; that's cute!)

DINODE!!!!!!!!!!! We're practically neighbors! Ok...well... if you can count living in the same general area in Texas neighbors! I'm in the Houston area as well.
That's cool starkat, maybe when the next Narnia movie comes out we can arrange to see it together.

Sounds good to me! Then the Lion Party will be bigger than just me, Earel, and a couple of others.
I'm North American. I live in Louisiana. I'm not a typical southern girl, I don't have a Cajun or any southern accent. The only thing southern about me is my occasional impulsive spunk and of course southern hospitality. I don't get into Mardi Gras like everyone else, I dislike seafood and some cajun foods, I love jambalaya, love LSU, and Who Dat?!!
Mostly I'm into the Cherokee indian culture here. My great grandmother was Cherokee and I have a few friends who are.
Also movies are booming here!! Yay!!

I'm not sure I've been in this thread, but I'm a North American Californian. The state I live in is probably one of the most expensive in the entire U.S.
There is a Mediterranean type climate here in Northern California and we don't really get snow except at higher altitudes in the State.

Here's Minnesota, where stargazer, TheGeneral, Louloudi, and a certain squirrlish mod live . The 10,000 lakes comes from the fact that Minnesota has a staggering amount of lakes, probably well over the 10,000 listed on the license plate. They also have 10,000 times that in mosquitoes.
Squirrlish mod? Do you by chance mean me? I live in Minnesota. So North America. Our state bird is the mosquito. Believe it or not it does get Hot here. We get temps / heat indexes in the 100s sometimes. (Although gazer would be a better one to discuss the typical Minnesota weather.)
