This turtle will eat practically anything, though she's particularly fond of mealworms. She's also been known to bite the end off the tank's thermometer, and unfasten the filter tubes from the wall.

I had a pet turtle when I was younger. He was a red-eared slider, but he died when he was fairly young (he actually killed himself :( ). My sister's turtle (his tank mate) lived for a few more years, before we released her into a pond.

My turtle liked to eat earthworms, but my sister's didn't ;))

I had two red-eared sliders, and they ate just about everything. My sister even gave them bananas and they ate them. Their favorite food was fish though, they just loved it. And the funny thing was that at one point De_De had pet fish and they were in a fish bowl right near the turtle tank (there wasn't any other suitable place to the fish bowl) and it was very funny to see my turtles trying to hunt on the fish. Both my turtles died a couple of months ago :(

Do you kill the ants before you eat them?? I'd try them, but I wouldn't want it alive in my mouth, crawling around.

Well, they're very small so you just bit them with your teeth and they die right away. I never had them crawling in my mouth, that would be dreadful. (Maybe I should write a book on how to eat ants. The next best-seller ;) )

Their middle finger is extra long so they can stick it into the holes of trees to get bugs. :)

Aye-Ayes are so cute!
Sometimes I think strange animals are cute. Like Green Snakes. They're these little tiny snakes, their backs are bright green, their bellies are pale yellow, and they have black beady eyes. I think they're adorable. My brother used to have one.

My turtle is a box turtle, maybe they're just more picky about what they eat? lol
Did yours ever hibernate? Mine are at this moment. :)

Both my turtles died a couple of months ago :(

:-s Sorry to hear that.

Aye-Ayes are very interesting animals. I've heard that their middle finger is more dense than their others, and that if it points its middle finger at you, it's an omen of death. For that reason, a lot of the superstitious natives kill the poor things :(

Aw, that's so sad...Poor things.

Some of my favorite animals are (in no particular order):
Wolves (they're actually my top favorite. :) )
Tigers
Foxes
Kangaroos
Turtles
Dolphins
Lions
Panda Bears
Horses

Some of my least favorite animals are:
Spiders (In fact, I'm quite scared of them. :P )
Bears (except for Pandas and Koalas)
Guinea Pigs
Hamsters

Digory, I've never heard that reason for natives killing them but I've heard that they are very superstitious and think aye-ayes are evil creatures.

Poor aya-ayes :( Why is it that all of the cool animals end uo being called "evil." (And yes aye-ayes are cute ;) )

EEP! Koala BEAR?!?!?! The biologist within me is cringing ;)).

But I must admit, Koalas are pretty cool animals too. I love how they're able to eat Eucalyptus leaves (which are pretty difficult to digest I think).

Baby koalas are super cute but I'm a bit over koalas. They're common-place in Australia. And they're certainly not bears. Koalas are marsupials - they have pouches to carry their young. Male koalas are a sight to behold in mating season, or should I say a sound to be heard. Their mating calls sound like angry wild boars!

I know they're not bears. :P But they have "bear" in their name. :P That's why I included them. In fact, I almost said "except for Pandas, Koalas and Gummies". :P =))
