anybody here who likes spiders? I just love them. I had a friend who used to raise and breed bird eating spiders and he said he would sell me one super cheap, unfortunatly my mother has forbidden that I should ever get a spider and bring him into the house, and I've been threatened by friends and family that if I should get a spider they will never visit me
Goliath bird-eaters are absolutely fascinating though, they're my all time favorite. I love to read about them and dream of owning one
Giant huntsman spider are amazing too, they are considered to be the spider with the largest leg span. I would love to own one of these kind too

you ate ants De_De......where was I when you were doing that.....yuck
always be humble and kind
Haha De_De, that's just weird. Yes, I've eaten ants before but not by choice, they'd burrowed into food I ate. The taste was sharp and unpleasant - formic acid will do that to one's taste-buds. I also don't recommend eating millipedes. I had the misfortune of doing so when I ate a mushroom a year or so ago. The taste was horrific and burnt like acid. It tainted my whole mouth. I had to wash it out several times, then drink lots of water and have a spoon of honey. Yeah, most hellish taste I've ever experienced. Warning: Always check the undersides of mushrooms before eating them.
Sorry Wildrose, I hate spiders. We have a huge amount of them in Australia and many of them are extremely poisionous. I'm fine with small ones but I hate the look of the big spiders and the way they scuttle around quickly and can hide amongst anything. We mostly get the harmless variety around home - huntsmens and daddy-long legs etc. but they're huge and I still don't like them. I should probably be more scared of little spiders though. They're generally the ones that are deadly.

Lady Haleth, that's interesting about your brother's turtle! Some animals do have odd tastes, yes. My cat is rather fond of cookie crumbs/biscuits/sweet things.
wild rose, I like spiders! (except for tarantulas, black widows, or large, hairy types) Charlotte's Web reformed my thinking of them. Plus, spiders eat flies, so what's not to like?
De_De, goodness, ants?! I might have eaten one or two when I once tried eating mud that looked oh-so-chocolate-like a while ago. How do they taste?
On the topic of eating bugs, I have eaten some sort of cooked, salted winged bug whose name I do not know. Our house help in Africa was making them, and I tried one, I think. It tasted like french fries.
Warrior 4 Jesus, I don't envy your experience eating millipedes. Gross.

I'm sure almost everyone on here has put weird things in their mouths or ate weird things when we were younger. I ate a grasshopper covered with chocolate and I ate a worm when I was three.

Yes, I agree. But this happened when I was 26!

Warrior---that's simply DREADFUL!! Were you more upset by the awful taste or the gross factor? I think I'd go into cardiac arrest or something if I discovered I'd eaten a bug by mistake (and I KNOW I would if it was a caterpillar...UGH *shudders*)
*looks on the last page*
Aw, that weasel is so cute! And looks shockingly a lot like my ferret. Although Sabine is quite friendly I can definetly see how in the wild they'd be vicious little things--she has super sharp teeth and would not hesitate to use them!
"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring." Marilyn Monroe
Warrior 4 Jesus, Oh that must have been aweful! There's reason why meerkats drag them through the sand before they eat them, to get all the toxins off first. Another reason not to eat mushrooms I guess

Ugh-eating ants? What a horrible experience! I don't like mushrooms anyway-sounds like I have good reason

I actually ate a mushroom too from the ground and my mom caught me. I only had one bite and IDK a doctor told my mom to make me drink something. I dont remember everything too much because I was about five when it happened.
Other animals I really love are Zebras! Yeah totally random.

Haha! Yes, it was awful. Valiant_Lucy, I was rather shocked when I encountered the millipede as it caught me off guard. The gross factor was bad enough but the taste was far, far, far worse. There's nothing quite like it.

Warrior Oh dear! That must have been awful!!!
I hate insects. When I was little, I would run away from them. Now my reaction is, take a shoe and BAM!!! I once did that to a locust that crawled into mine and wild rose's tent while camping. It was huge, and I held it down with a rubber slipper. The only problem was....it didn't die!! So we took turns keeping the shoe on it and running after my brother to "get rid of it!!!!!" Now it's so funny, but then we were both freaked!
Just a question about animals, has anyone out there kissed a frog? I'll say right away that I kissed two, and they were ve-e-e-ery tiny! I even have a photo somewhere

Warrior, oh my, how terrible to eat a millipede
Damsel my sister ate a worm once too, the kids outside where catching spiders and tearing their legs off and my sister, who was around six years old at the time, told them to stop but they said 'we'll stop only if you eat a worm' so she went found a worm and ate it
I love zebras too, they're fascinating animals

I've kissed so many frogs that I've lost count . I love frogs and love catching them (and I've kissed just about every frog that I've caught, but there never never was a prince you'd think that after all the frogs I've caught and kissed I would have been lucky at least once )

My brother has a pet turtle, and she has eaten cookie crumbs that fell in her tank.
That's so funny. My turtle, and my brother's turtle, won't eat anything other than lettuce and some fruits.
We used to feed them maggots and superworms, but then they didn't want to eat anything else and they had vitamine deficiencies. And superworms are kinda nasty.
Do you kill the ants before you eat them?? I'd try them, but I wouldn't want it alive in my mouth, crawling around.
