Bow and arrow. Always. Crossbows are even better.

Longswords are typically two-handed weapons. So yes, Aragorn's Narsil would likely be classified as a longsword. Broadsword are often one-handed weapons, so Peter's sword and Boromir's sword would be considered broadswords. As for Glamdring (Gandalf's sword) is seen being wielded with one hand or two so it could be classified as either or even a hand-and-a-half sword. I'm trying not to get too technical here and did generalize earlier.

Hmm...if it's Narnian make...(sigh...I wanted an M1 Garand rifle ), then a longsword, preferably with a shield.
id rather have a nuke there
I chose a Whip because you can whip you opponents weapon out of their hand, then cause great amounts of pain without killing as punishment
no longer active. every once in a while ill pop back for the memories. good to see a few recognizable names 🙂
I'm pretty decent with a recurve, so I'd take that. Besides, with a bow you can take out a guy with a sword before the the dude even knew you were there. I mean? How cool is that, besides I always love playing a sniper in CoD.
Which brings me to my second point, if I could choose ANY weapon... This could get... Instresting. As I said before, I love playing sniper, so I'd likely pick some sort of Sniper Rifle.
Possibly a Barrett M82? Its a 50 Cal, recoil-operated, semi-automatic anti-materiel rifle. Totally awesome. I might get a AMP Technical Services, The DSR-1 system is configured in a bull-pup design, with a free-floating barrel. Super cool, but unfourtanatly, German.
And that of course makes me go "Ick, not American" now... The CheyTec Intervention American, "a bolt action sniper rifle manufactured by Randy Kobzeff for long range soft target interdiction. It is fed by a detachable single stack magazine, which holds 7 rounds. It fires .408 CheyTac or .375 CheyTac ammunition. CheyTac papers state that the entire system is capable of delivering sub-MOA accuracy at ranges of up to 2,500 yards (2,300 m), one of the longest ranges of all modern-day sniper rifles."
Now this is more like it of course, as we all learned in "Black Hawk Down" Sniper rifles are not very good at fending off hords of enemys e.0
SO, If I had to pick a Auto I would go with either the historic M1921 (Tommy Gun) or a M249, also know as a SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon) either one of those would really cool to have.
Yeah, I'm an expert on all things that go BOOM.

If you ain't first, you're last.
You know there is a classic saying that I believe originated with one of the greatest movie shots of all time involving a famed archeologist. "Those who live by the sword get shot by those who don't."
When comparing bows, the regular long bow is actually a better weapon in a battle situation. Crossbows are great for accuracy but you can shoot 7 times with a long bow in the same time it takes to fire twice with a cross bow. But that being said, if you are an archer and the battle goes hand to hand, a crossbow is a much better weapon for hand-to-hand than a longbow.

Longbows are by far not the only bows that exist. I've been shooting for 2 years now, and I'd venture to say longbows are pretty uncomfortable in that they're so big and are hard to pull back.
The most efficient bows, I believe, are Mongolian bows. They're small, relatively light, and amazingly accurate. They're only downside is that they don't hold out in low temperatures. The Mongols lost a war to the Russians this way back in the Middle Ages, because the Mongols' bows snapped due to the extremely low temperature.
All that to say, I'd take the bow no question.

Narnian_Archer, that is interesting. About the Mongolian bows I mean. What were they made of? Do you know?

Can I have a magic staff and throwing knives? A magic staff because really, how cool is that? Throwing knives because I have smaller than average hands and wrists so I think they'd be easier for me to handle than any of the other weapons of the pointy and sharp variety. Although long knives would be cool too........
... I wanted an M1 Garand rifle ...
Very nice but not exactly Narnian. Very classic too. I have preference for the M40 to reach out and touch someone. Of course this is not Narnian either.
Don't be shocked by the tone of my voice
Check out my new weapon, weapon of choice.Listen to the sound of my voice
You can check it on out, it's the weapon of choice
When that fails there is always Poison.
“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
Valiant Mongolian bows were made with a wooden frame and covered with bone. They weren't exactly much lighter than Longbows, but they were smaller, less cumbersome, much more powerful, and more accurate. Nowadays remakes are usually made from steel (at least, the ones I saw.) covered with leather. I shot from one once when a friend of mine bought one--they've got lots of power!!

I originally posted with a bow, but just changed to "other".
Do not get me wrong, bows are excellent weapons, but thinking about it, a good staff should serve me well.
Now for all those folks who are suggesting these more modern, non-Narnian weapons, i will take my old British Einfeld 303. Actually made in 1944, witht he original "peep" sights at 300, and 600 yards. With it at the 300 I aimed eight inches below a target at 100, and was almost dead on.
A Magic Staff- because it is magic so you do do more stuff and get more protection!!! But it does conjur up white witch Images...
Well i'd be using minefor good not evil!
Narnia is childhood...
Seriously, just give the kid the orange. He needs his vitamin C!
Hmm...if it's Narnian make...(sigh...I wanted an M1 Garand rifle ), then a longsword, preferably with a shield.
I suppose the magic staff could make a M1 Grand.
