Isaiah 53:11~ "By His knowledge My righteous servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities."

Notice what's underlined! Now put your name in! Plug in your name!

"By His knowledge My righteous servant shall justify _, for He shall bear _ iniquities."

All you have to do is believe that Jesus died for you! It's personal! The blood of the cross of Jesus Christ has set you free! The debt of sin is paid! You are forgiven of your sins! By faith in Christ and His blood, you are justified [declared righteous]! [Acts 13:39, Romans 5:1, 9] The just shall live by faith! [Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17] On the cross, Jesus said, "It is finished" [John 19]. In Greek, this is tetelestai = a shout of victory! B-)

“Who shall ever separate us from Christ's love? Shall suffering and affliction and tribulation? Or calamity and distress? Or persecution or hunger or destitution or peril or sword? Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.”- Romans 8:35,37

Psalm 42:11 ~ "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God."

I was looking at this one the other day, and I told my dad about it.

Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Will bring her into the wilderness, And speak comfort to her. I will give her her vineyards from there, And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope; She shall sing there, As in the days of her youth, As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt. ''And it shall be, in that day,'' Says the LORD, ''That you will call Me ‘My Husband,’ And no longer call Me ‘My Master,’" Hosea 2:14-16
I love this whole passage because it speaks of the incredible love and mercy of God towards His rebellious and idolatrous children like me. I found it especially potent today.

I left Narniaweb for inexplicable reasons in the beginning of June 2010 and probably will not be returning (much as I love this place). So if you're wondering why I disappeared, now you know! (sort of...)

John 3:16 (NIV)- "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Happy Easter everyone! Let us never forget the reason why this day is celebrated.

“While we were yet in weakness [powerless to help ourselves], at the fitting time Christ died for (in behalf of) the ungodly. Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a noble and lovable and generous benefactor someone might even dare to die. But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.”- Romans 5:6-8

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

This is kind of creepy. :-s Those verses were featured in a song at church this weekend. I was thinking of asking about it in the Christianity thread. What does the word "joy" refer to in this passage? The singer at church said that it was us and it should almost be capitalized as a proper noun. Is that right?
