Is anyone else looking forward to Cars 2? I'm not sure about the details, but I think I will be seeing it (if I don't, my brother will force me to watch it with him )

I hope its good. Usually Part two is never good. My lil bro will probably make me go see it too.

Yeah, puddleglum32, the sequals usually aren't as good, but Toy Story 2 was as good as the first one, so I have a bit of hope for Cars 2

I'll probably see Cars 2, maybe with my cousins. I hope it will be better then the first one, because Cars, while good, was my least favorite of Pixar that I've seen.
My favorites would have to be the Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Toy Story 3 and Up. I haven't seen the first two Toy Stories and Wall-E, though I need to. But I've seen all the rest.
I watched Toy Story 3 again today and was reminded of how good Pixar movies are, not only in plot but in attention to detail, appearance, and so on.
I think it's easier to pick those that are my 'lesser favorites' (like Cars - though it is quite clever, and the takeoff on the Cadillac Ranch was great) than to pick a favorite. UP is among my favorites, mostly for that emotional musical montage near the beginning. The middle of the movie (with the talking dogs) just seemed like a different movie to me, if that makes sense - though it was still enjoyable. Monsters Inc and Finding Nemo are also ones I like.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
I have adoed Pixar movies from as early as I can remember. I haven't missed one in theatres since Monsters inc and there are none that I don't love.
I'm kind of worried about Cars 2 though. Secret agents smacks of Air Bud franchise-style desperation.
Cars 2 is a different direction for Pixar, sure but I don't think it will be anything like Air-Bud (never even bothered seeing that movie). It looks more along the lines of parodying James Bond and other classic spy series (minus the inappropriate British playboy activities). I quite enjoyed Cars. It's not a favourite of mine but it's far from terrible. Maybe people had difficulty connecting with human-like vehicles? I mean animals and creatures are one thing, but creating something that enables people to feel for man-made creations? That's a difficult one.

Pixar is pretty awesome.
My favorites are Toy Story 1 and 2. I grew up with those two and have watched them more times than I'd like to admit (I even had the first one memorized at one point). Me and my brother bought a bunch of the toys, we must have like 7 Buzz Lightyears lol. And we played the video game for N64 ALL the time.
Next up, I really like Cars (I really like cars in real life, and a part of me thinks mine is sort of alive.. hehe), Ratatouille (the rats were cute! And a funny story), and Finding Nemo (good story, nice underwater scenery).
Incredibles, Monstar's Inc, and Toy Story 3 come next. They're good, but I'd only want to see them a handful of times.
Bug's Life, Wall-e, and Up are my least favorite. I saw each of them only once and that's enough for me. Actually, I didn't see all of Wall-e because I got too bored. And the whole idea of the world being all garbage was just kinda lame in my opinion. Up and Bug's Life were just too... I don't know, weird?
Some of their shorts are awesome, my favorites of those are Tin Toy (saw that for the first time when I was 1 year old, hah), Luxo Jr (the lamp), Knick Knack (the snowman), and Lifted (the alien abduction).
Overall good stuff
I have only skimmed this thread because I haven't seen all of the Pixar movies yet.
My favorites in no particular order are Ratatouille, Monsters Inc, and the Incredibles.
I haven't seen Wall-e or Toy Story 2 and 3. I just recently got interested in the movies again. I kind of lost interest after watching Up. Not that I was completely interested before. I liked them when I watched them (except for a while I had a sense I didn't really like Toy Story. I did watch it again recently and liked it), but I didn't really seek them out to watch them. I liked Up okay but I spent a lot time crying and I'm getting very tired of crying through movies so I sort of lost interest. For a while I had only watched the last few minutes of Incredibles. Recently I watched the whole thing and absolutely loved it.
The Pixar movies have such a depth to them. They really are well done. The have things that are clearly for adults to pick up on, but if children do pick up on them they aren't inappropriate. They have meaningful plots and clean humor.
My sister, our friend, and I have plans to start with the first Pixar movie and work our way through them. Now we just have to find the time ...
As for shorts, I like Jack - Jack Attack because it explains the phone messages.

Just had to jump in and say that John Lasseter was quite clear that Cars 2 is NOT a parody of spy films, it IS a spy film. I think that's a very important point. Right now I'm expecting Cars 2 to be enjoyable. I don't think it's going to be my favorite Pixar film, but I definitely believe in it; I have no reason not to.
Also, the final trailer for Cars 2 was released a few days ago. View it HERE.

Sorry, when I said 'parodying' I should have said 'was heavily inspired by spy movies'. Thanks for sharing the trailer, the movie looks good. Not great but still enjoyable. The final scene with the Japanese toilet made me giggle though - some of their toilets really are that awkward and unusual.

I got to watch Monsters Inc and Ratatouille today as well as a little of the beginning of Finding Nemo (and get paid for it - I was subbing in a special ed class and the helpers in the class had brought movies). I love the "bloopers" at the end of Monsters Inc. The doors in Monster Inc made me think of LB.
Cars 2 looks interesting. Although I probably shouldn't even think about seeing it until I get a chance to see Cars again. Hopefully that will happen before the movie comes out. I would think my sister, my friend, I could find time to do that before the end of June ...

My favourite Pixar movie of all time would have to me Monsters Inc. It's so sweet, and I love Mike, he just cracks me up! The bloopers at the end are HILARIOUS, and actually showing us the musical? That was just pure genius!
Very, very closely following that would have to be all the Toy Story films. The first time I saw the original Toy Story, my brother and I made our parents turn it off, because we were so terrified of Sid, but since then I have grown to love these movies The recurring theme of friendship that continues through each of them is beautiful. And I love Rex. Who couldn't love Rex? Doug, from up, is another one of my personal favourite characters; he's so sweet.
I especially enjoyed the music in Up and The Incredibles, too. It really emotionally connected me to the films.
I think the most disappointing fim for me was Ratatouille, it just didn't have the same, oh, I don't know what it is, but there was something missing from it that all the other Pixar films had. Saying that, it certainly wasn't a bad movie by any means, and I still enjoyed it.
