That sounds terrible. I don't see how the book's storyline would even work with the fast, insta-zombie variety of monster.
So Zombieland fans, apparently the plans for a sequel have been transformed into plans for a television series. I'm kind of excited about this. Hopefully it will be well-written and well-made and not some kind of cheesy, laughtrack-driven monstrosity.

I was able to catch the season 2 premiere of TWD this afternoon, and echo Bookwyrm's comments and spoilers here.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Love the posters . Alas, I cannot watch anymore Walking Dead until they release them on the AMC website . For some reason they only put the Season 2 pilot on and aren't putting any of the subsequent episodes there.

The Walking Dead was picked up for a third season!
Alas, I cannot watch any more Walking Dead episodes unless they put said episodes on the AMC website. I am sad.
So instead I'll share info on a really cool board game called Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game.
The game is designed to mimic the feel of an old B-movie one might have seen at the drive in back in the day. There 8 different hero characters that can be played with standard archetypes like the beleaguered town sheriff, the high school jock, or the farmer's daughter. Each hero has special abilities that they may use at any time during the game that gives them that extra needed edge against the hordes of undead. Players divvy up roles so that some are playing the heroes and the rest play the zombies.
There's 5 or 6 scenarios in the base game ranging from simply trying to kill as many zombies possible within a limited time frame to defending an isolated farm house (a la Night of the Living Dead).
The game board is modular and it's designed to be randomly put together each game so that there's different sets of buildings each time. Locations like the High School or the Police Station will sometimes be replaced by the Junkyard or the Church. And of course the heroes and the zombies battle it out throughout. The heroes have a decent selection of weapons with which to fight the zombie horde, but the zombies never run out of...well...zombies . And they just keep coming. Eventually they will wear the heroes down unless the heroes work together to win.
And yes, the game comes with its own soundtrack too The pieces are nice sculpts of the various heroes and there's even nice variety with the zombies, leading a lot of folks to custom paint their sets Each game is meant to feel like one is participating in a B-movie zombie flick and so each game tells a unique story. I've never played a game quite like it, and if you like zombie movies this may be a game you might want to think about checking out.
And in an homage to the Romero's Dawn of the Dead someone had the very cool idea of re-purposing an old copy of Mall Madness and combining it with LNOE to form....Last Night at the Mall. It looks cool, no?

No reactions to that new episode of The Walking Dead?
It just starts this week in Taiwan, so I can only post a few episodes behind.
This is actually great progress- we used to be way behind (spoiler: Tony Soprano gets killed in the last episode).
How about Season 1? Is it okay to post on that without spoilers?
Shadowlander- looks like a great game!
The difference is that people wanted to hear the stories, whereas I never met anyone who wanted to read the essays
I'm unable to watch anymore TWD until they start airing it on the AMC website. Thus far only the season 2 opener is on there, so I'm thoroughly without a clue as to what happens from here till' the end of the season. So please no spoilers! My shift partner is already telling me Shane is up to no good and that's probably more than I need to know.

(spoiler: Tony Soprano gets killed in the last episode).
Noooo!!!
How about Season 1? Is it okay to post on that without spoilers?
I might suggest playing it safe and using spoilers for season 1 as well. We may have a few readers who (given the publicity of season 2 just starting) have decided to watch from the beginning.
I was able to catch the latest episode (2.3, "Save the Last One") On Demand today. I confess I'd already read Bookwyrm's spoiler but still
And this episode raised the question about children in a world after a zombie apocalypse. I found myself wondering if the remaining humans might decline to even have kids, given that there's so little hope, so little to live for - would the human population ultimately collapse? The comment that Carl chose to remember the deer, not everything else, was interesting, but I wonder if the series will address this question in any depth.

Day of the Dead (1985)
The goriest of Romero's zombie trilogy and surprisingly the one I liked the most. Imagine that....
Haha I completely agree! I really enjoyed that movie. Captain Rhodes was such an awesome villain.
However I actually LIKED the comedy in Dawn of the Dead. In fact I see dark humor in ALL the zombie movies I've seen (not sure if it's always supposed to be there or if it's just my twisted brain haha, but nonetheless).
Fun fact: Haiti has a law against people who try to "make" zombies. They are tried with murder.
Haitian Penal Code:
Article 249. It shall also be qualified as attempted murder the employment which may be made against any person of substances which, without causing actual death, produce a lethargic coma more or less prolonged. If, after the person had been buried, the act shall be considered murder no matter what result follows.

One last comment from me...
This past Sunday's episode of TWD was the last one until it returns from hiatus in February.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
