I have watched the first two episodes of endeavour and I enjoy this more than the original inspector Morse. It is on at such a bad time of night in Australia it doesn't finished to nearly 12 and I have to get up at 6:30 in the morning for work. So I always have to watch the second half online. Oh well it is more peaceful I guess.

Ryadian, please don't take what people say about the LOST finale as gospel; make up your own mind. There were some fans who were disappointed and/or confused and some who loved it (I for one, found the finale flawed in parts but really enjoyed it). One thing you won't be about the ending is indifferent. The finale is thematically consistent but the story isn't the most important thing to the writers. Keep that in mind when you watch it. Also, there's more than a little C.S. Lewis influence there.

I'll keep that in mind. :) Though, to be honest, I usually tend to expect the worst unless this creative team has earned my complete trust. :P That way, I'm pleasantly surprised when it's good! ;)

Okay, since my family re-watched The Avengers last night, I'm curious: is anyone else looking forward to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

I am indeed. ;) I'm also curious to see what the ratio of comic book characters vs. original characters will be. And, of course, very happy to see the return of the spoiler. ;))

I'm curious about that as well. I know that the 5 main characters are all original to the show, but I'm hoping this will be a chance to get in villains/characters who would never make it in the movies. :P (Like "The Thinker" who appeared in an episode of "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes"; I've been wondering about his story.) I'll wait to be surprised, though. ;)

Spoiler
I'm still debating whether or not I'm glad Coulson is back. While I think he's awesome, I can see this going either very well or very poorly, depending on whether a) he's actually still alive or this is all flashback, b) how they bring him back, etc. A very popular theory I've heard is that he was just badly injured, not killed, but Fury lied to the Avengers to get them to unite. Personally, I think that's a great idea, and it's a good way to establish how manipulative Fury can be and give the Avengers reason to distance themselves from him. At the same time, there's the question of how much of the TV series will be regarded when they're writing the movies....

In regards to your question, I watched Merlin all the way through and enjoyed it, though was more than a little disappointed by the ending. Still, it's a fun ride and I'd recommend it. :)

Thanks for the recommendation. :) It'll stay on my list for now.

Does anyone remember "The Pretender" TV series? It was cancelled 12 years ago and the story was never concluded.

According to an exclusive interview with the creators/main writers of the TV series, the return of our beloved and belated The Pretender (1996-2000), will be launched in Autumn (Spring time for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere).

So excited!

Enjoy! Please share the good news.

I don't remember The Pretender, Warrior, but it sounds interesting! I'll be on the lookout for that.

Last evening I caught a promotional blurb advertising Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, a spinoff to the original Once Upon a Time that will air Thursday nights this fall on ABC (the original remains on the Sunday schedule). According to the network it'll focus primarily on the action in the Wonderland we've already seen in the original show but will have crossovers to Storybrooke and Fairy Tale Land.

I was a bit surprised because while Once has a third season coming up I didn't realize it was doing well enough for a spinoff....

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

I love all those British panel shows on abc. would I lie to you?, mock of the week, QI. ABC has the best shows for Australian television. I don't watch the other channels very often.

Anyone seen inspector George gently?

Wow, I haven't even finished watching all of season 2 of the original. :P I may watch this show when it comes out, if I've caught up on OUaT by then, but... well, for one thing, I'm already watching too many shows. :P Plus I lost a lot if interest in the original show after the second season started. Granted, that was also in the middle of my last year in college, so part of that is just "it's not interesting enough to justify an hour every week of my time". But, as I haven't finished season 2, that's as much as I'll say on the subject. :P

Endeavour is fantastic! I wasn't sure how I would feel about it, especially because it premiered the week after Inspector Lewis finished airing and I absolutely adore that show. I don't own a TV at the moment so I do a lot of my TV watching online (including Endeavour) and have yet to watch the new episode (probably tomorrow). But the first episode Girl was incredible and very thrilling to watch. I highly recommend it.

I love WILTY and Mock the Week!!! David Mitchell and Lee Mack's banter is always hilarious =)) Have you ever seen Russell Howard's Good News or 8 Out of 10 Cats? Essentially I think British television is the best. :)

I love british tv as well, I don't enjoy many American shows. The Australian comedies and panel shows on abc are usually good. Have you seen the last leg with Adam hills?

No I haven't seen either of those, though I have heard of the first. I will check them out sometime, tonight(Wednesday) is comedy night on abc so I always keep my Wednesday nights free ha.

David Mitchell has funny facial expressions ha, its great. I love the segment when they have the person come in who had something to do with one of their lives.

I don't get to watch much TV anymore, but I did see a promo for a new season of Whose Line is it Anyway, sans Drew Carey as the host (he's busy over at The Price is Right). I gotta tell you I'll watch it at the earliest opportunity...that show always cracks me up! :D

We just finished watching the last series of Merlin. I'd read a lot of reactions to the finale and I'm surprised so many were disappointed by it. I thought it was a good and proper ending to the show and the season (which was probably one of the best as far as writing goes; there was a feeling of getting somewhere to the whole set, and I liked that). I also liked the way the writers treated Mordred, as compared to his usual portrayals in the legends. I think (despite my love of older Arthuriana) that the best things about Merlin were often those they chose to change from the legends. I did have two small disappointments with the finale, though:

Spoiler
the Great Dragon was still alive in the end, after his heavy foreshadowing of his own death a few episodes previous
and the last shot, which was confusing for anyone who wasn't paying very close attention and seemed to me to do very little to close out the story. Other than those points, I was pretty well pleased with the finale. It wasn't 100% what I wanted, but it was satisfying.

And now the news we've all been waiting for...

The Pretender will be returning in three mediums:

1) A series of novels
2) Graphic novels
3) A cable/broadcast TV series and/or feature films (with old and new faces)

Awesome!

Part Two of the interview with the creator/writers of The Pretender:

Our Pretender Mission Statement

In the tale of The Pretender, Young Jarod was taken against his will and held away from the world by forces larger then he was. Yet during his captivity he never gave up hope that his fate would be freedom one day - to return to the world to continue the amazing journey we call life.

The story here is very similar. A little over a decade ago, forces larger than tP and for reasons that really don’t matter, made a decision that kept the saga of tP locked away from the world – just like Jarod was.
We know loyal fans were disappointed and yes, so were we. There was so much more to tP that all of you wanted to know and that we wanted to explore.

But there is good news.

Just like Jarod who, after decades of confinement, finally escaped The Centre and ran away to be free. Well now, so has the tP itself. After being locked away for so many years, tP is finally free to return to the world and continue life’s adventure.
As fate would have it, we have regained the rights to give tP the Rebirth it deserves. We can now reinvigorate tP for as long as you want - and no one can ever lock it or Jarod away again.

After thinking long and hard about the best way to bring the tP back, we’ve come up with several different ways to reawaken our much-loved saga for both faithful fans and new fans alike.

First, tP will be reborn as a series of novels enabling us to delve much deeper into the characters’ hearts, minds, souls and lives in a more revealing way that the limitations of a weekly TV series could never allow for.

Second, we’ll add graphic novels to the mix, fleshing out even more provocative details of the early years of Jarod, Miss P, The Centre and much more, leading to…

Third, be it cable/broadcast TV, a Netflix model series and/or a series of Pretender feature films - tP will then be taken to a whole new level with familiar faces and new characters as well.

You have always been loyal to tP and we want you to know that we’ll always be loyal to you.
The Pretender has found freedom – and an amazing journey into life is about to begin again!
The Rebirth of The Pretender will blow your mind.

Several of you got me curious - Merlin sounded like such a good show. I have Netflix (I SO get my $8/month worth out of them!) - and am currently watching the last episode of the 3rd season of Merlin. I absolutely LOVE this show! It has adventure, romance, and most importantly comedy!

So, anyone have any more suggestions?

(I've also been watching The Glades, Heartland, Eureka, and Warehouse 13)

Further up and further in!!
