It's over. The Saints defeated the Colts 31-17 with a interception return for a TD that iced the game. It was about as perfect a QB showdown as it got until that int and the as I posted above, the Saints simply wanted it the most. Stay clear of the streets in New Orleans tonight.

WE WON WE WON WE WOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!
Stay clear of the streets of anywhere in LA right now! A friend of ours said people are running down the streets in her subdivision! Our neighbors are popping fireworks!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS, WE WOOON! WHO DAT!

Congrats to the Saints!
It was a very even game until that interception put things out of reach. Nice to see a close game.
A couple of the ads got chuckles from our group - though none really jumped out as spectacular - and we noticed that a couple of the Bud Light ads seemed targeted to LOST fans (the airplane wreckage one especially, and the appearance of the Dharma Initiative's Dr Chang in the incoming asteroid ad).
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Conga Rats to the Saints! They played a very powerful game; they pressed their offense and they pressed it quite hard throughout, which seemed to be the key to their victory. Especially considering that their defense was... somewhat lacking, to say the least. (I suppose that makes the Saints the "glass cannon" of football...)
So yeah, an early Mardi Gras for New Orleans.
More on this in the Music thread, but I enjoyed The Who's performance during halftime. It's nice to see that they can still hold their own so many years later (and despite the death of two of their key members).

Way to go Saints!! It was a great game, fantastic QBs on both sides. The Saints defense was pretty weak, and they had a hard time defending against the Colt's running plays (when the Colts had the ball like 2 yards away from the end zone if they had run first they probably would've gotten in, IMHO) The interception definitely sealed the deal. But anyway, great game Did anyone noticed there were so few sacks and penalties? It seemed like the game went unusually fast.

I thought they started out pretty well, with a few good Doritos and Bud Light ones, and of course Robin Hood. In the middle they got kind of stupid, but at the end they picked up again. My family thought the Green Police one was pretty funny, and also the Doritos warrior guy one I don't watch Lost but someone pointed that out to me, it was pretty funny (I especially liked the one with the asteroid) I'm an NCIS fan, so the "handshake replaced by the head slap" commercial was one of my favorites too.

Team Hoodie!!
I watch NCIS on occasion as well, so that commercial was fun.
In other news, the Vancouver Olympics begin this upcoming Friday, with the first-ever opening ceremony to be held indoors - due to rain concerns. Apparently there's also a lack of snow this year.
My brother lived in Seattle for many years, and a few years ago we talked about the prospect of going to Vancouver to see the Olympics (Seattle's only a couple hours away, and we'd traveled to Vancouver a few times as tourists). But they moved out of Washington a few years ago, so we'll be watching it on TV instead.

I wasn't particularly impressed with the SB ads. The Budwiser has definately lost thier touch as they would often have the best ads a few years back. Doritos were decent and I have to say I missed the Tim Tebow ad. The best ones were the previews for Last Airbender and Robin Hood. I'm really excited about Last Airbender right now.

*Sighs* Oh well. The colts had a great season if you think about it. The sad thing is, it will only be marked as a failure seeing as how they didn't win the big one. I thought that most of the SB ads were pretty good. As for the game I was frustrated with what I thought was rather poor officiating. There were several times when the Saints did late hits that were never called and many holdings on their front line. But, all in all I am happy for the Saints getting their first SB win. Now if only the Panthers can do that next year. *Stares off and dreams*

That would be so cool to go to the olympics. I would want to see the speed skating and ski jumping the most!
Can you believe they start on Friday?!! I can hardly wait to see the figure skating! Speed skating is cool, but not as graceful!

I'm excited about the figure skating. I've only gotten to see a couple competitions in the past year, and it was always the men's program, so I don't know who I should cheer for in Women's. But as for the guys, I'm gonna cheer for Evan Lysacek. I saw him in most of the competitions I saw, and I've been watching alot of his routines online, and I really like him. I've looked up Johnny Weir and the other guy....Adam something? And they're really good too, but I'm cheering for Lysacek.

Did anyone see the ending of the speed skating with Apolo Ohno and J.R. Celik (I think )! Wow, that was something. Everyone in my family is now calling anyone who gets greedy a "Korean" seeing as how they easily had it but the third place guy tried to get second instead of settling for third. Also the USA got it's first gold when Hannah Kearney grabbed it in the women's Moguls.

i know this is late but who agrees with me that texas is better than alabama, if they have a chance to win the game with 5 minutes to go with their backup quarterback who threw 2 touchdown passes againsts alabamas #2 "defense." also if they outgain alabama with their backup qb who turned the ball over 5 times. plus their defense played great on mcelroys first 5 pass attempts he was sacked.
