The Super Bowl is set. It will be the Colts and Vikings. Colts rallied from a 17-6 deficit to win 30-17 and the Saints just beat the Vikings 31-28 in OT. Excellent games and this will be a good SB. I am rooting for the Saints.

Fantastic :D I was hoping Saints vs. Jets (well, in the beginning I was hoping Eagles, so that shows my foresight) but I'm happy with just the Saints. Awesome game though, if the Vikings hadn't had so many interceptions and fumbles they may have pulled it out, but the Saints fought till the end. The jump the Saints made in overtime for the first down was amazing, I have no idea how he managed to hold onto the ball!

Congrats to the Colts and the Saints! It should be quite a game.

The Vikings had a shot but all those turnovers were too much to overcome. Maybe next year, Vikings fans. ;) (Though after all the hits Favre took today, I wouldn't blame him if he retires).

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

I see Favre and Warner not retiring yet. They are the type that will not retire until their bodies truly cannot handle it or when they game loses it's zeal. I saw this year that both QBs were have too much fun this year to just hang it up. I think they want to go out on top and that will be with a SB ring. But not every QB can do that. Warner had his chance last year. If Favre plays again next year, he will be in the hunt, as will Warner, so we shall see.

SAINTS IN THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being from LA, this is a dream come true for me and everyone else down here!!!!! We finally made it!!!!! I can't believe that field goal of Hartleys! Wish I could've been at the dome....that was a night to remember. :) They showed the French Quarter like, two seconds after the game was over, and the whole place was crazy!!!!! So was everyone else!!!!! I just can't believe we're going....I don't even really care if we don't win....WE MADE IT!!!!! Brees wasn't so great last night though...that's the main thing that's got me worried. :( I feel sorry for poor Archie Manning, his old team is going up against his son's team! Well, I think he needs to cheer for his son. :)

And Shockey better get over his dadgum turf toe before the Superbowl......He's my favorite and we need him out there!

Who Dat! Who Dat! Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?!?!?!?!?! :D :D :D

I have to say I am really depressed over last night's game. In my opinion, the Vikings were the better team. If they could've just HANGED ON TO THE BALL, they would've won in my opinion. :-s
Plus I didn't like how the Saints beat up Favre like they did, that was just playing dirty. X(

So yeah, lots of depressed Minnesotans today. :|

Well I differ with you there. I would say hands down that the Saints were the better team. Brett Favre and the Vikings kinda stumbled and bumbled there way through the playoffs. I would say they shouldn't have even made it there. The Cowboys should have beaten them when they played them. As for their hits on Favre I wouldn't call it dirty. I'd just say the D was doing it's job.

Also, the Colts beat the Jets! :D Nothing had gone right in the playoffs this year for me until yesterday. I was worried that since yesterday's game was the first Colts game I'd watched all year that they'd mess up and finally lose. That's pretty much what happened in all the other playoff games this year. :(( When the Jets beat the Chargers well... :-o :-o :-o :-o .............. X( X( ~x( To say the least. Now moving on, does anyone else think having the Pro-Bowl before the Super Bowl is ridiculous?

My brother and I were discussing the Pro Bowl timing yesterday after the game. It does seem pretty silly...having the game before the Super Bowl means all the top players from the 2 championship teams aren't going to compete; the risk of injury is just too great.

Yet having the game after the Super Bowl, as it's been in the past, renders it pretty meaningless, a sort of asterisk on the season.

The two of us really didn't come up with any way to make the game more significant (for example, baseball added some incentive to its All-Star Game by giving the winning league home field advantage in the World Series).

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Having to disagree with you, at least on the last bit. I'm kinda new to football, so I can't really say which one was the better team (plus I kept wandering in and out of the room for snacks. Did you know carrot sticks are addicting?), but I definately don't think that the Saints were playing dirty beating Favre up. Like Narnian_Warrior said, the D was doing their job.
But good game, Vikings fans. Ya'll sure gave us a run for our money. :) Oh, and let me apologize for any Saints fans you may have heard of dissing the Vikings and their fans, because I've heard of a few, and I'm very dissapointed. I beg you not to judge the whole of LA - or the Saints - by them.
All us Saints fans were so worried about the Pro Bowl because Drew Brees (the main one we can't live without) was going to be the starting QB, and we were afraid we might actually make it into the Superbowl, and if he went to the Pro Bowl, he would hurt himself, or get worn out or something. Then we found out that Superbowl players aren't in the Pro Bowl, and we were all greatly relieved. But other than that, I'd say the timing's allright. It gives us something to hold us over while we're waiting for Superbowl Sunday.

Not too sound rude but it's not meaningless before the SB? /:)

Thanks for the gracious words, checkers. :) Good luck to your Saints.

Narnian_Warrior, I guess I was unclear. The Pro Bowl is indeed relatively meaningless, and I was agreeing with you in that playing it before the Super Bowl doesn't improve that image - especially since the two teams competing in the championship game are presumably among the best, and should have some of the best players, and removing them from the Pro Bowl makes it even less meaningful.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

There were times when the ball was obviously out of his hand already and they still knocked Brett down... hard. That's what I'm referring to. Not saying the Saints didn't play good overall.
Anyway, the Vikes had an awesome season and there's no doubt they played really well throughout, so I'm proud of them. I just wish they had been more up to par on Sunday.

Yes, it's pretty much meaningless no matter when it's played. The players are only there because it's in Hawaii, the fans only watch it because there's nothing else on, and nobody remembers anything that happened a month later. I never watch it.

Super Bowl: Go Colts!

Mark my words, someday I will think of something brilliant to put in my sig.

I'm rooting for the Saints too. The Colts are a great team and Peyton is as good as a QB as you can get, but I sense a heart in these Saints that I haven't seen in a SB team in some time. I think the Saints want this SB, even more than the Colts do and even more than Favre did. So while the Colts might be an overall better team (the Vikings were in thier game), I think the Saints are going to take it today.
