Did anyone else watch game 6 of the NLCS? It was awesome! David Freese was awesome all the way through the series.
Who is going to watch the World Series? I'm definitely going to watch it. And which team are you rooting for? Obviously, I'm a CARDINALS fan!
Go Cardinals!!!
SnowAngel
Christ is King.
Well, Brewers lost - and of course I'm heart broken, but we're one awesome team. I didn't get to watch any games except the 1st, but everything went as I predicted.
I'll probably watch most of the World Series - and definitely be against the Cards.
And the Packers are the only 6-0 team!

I really cant stomach football this year, the Vikings are breakin my heart.
Following the Wild more closely this year, they at least seem to be doing fine, except for the last two games. Losing to the Red Wings?? Seriously?
Red Wings are not a bad team. True it's very early in the season. I'd be a lot more cautious about the Avalanche if I were you than the Wings. Avs are off to a hot start. But again, it's early in the season and like the Rockies (Baseball) this year and the Avs last year when injury's just took them out, collapses are always possible.
On a personal level, I had a really hot tournament this past weekend in Albuquerque. I finished 19th out of 46 in Epee, which is easily a personal best for a regional or national level tournament. Then I was 7th out of 15 in Foil, decent, but could have been slightly better. I would have had a medal but the organizers were behind on things this year and could only get them for the top 4. Have a local tournament on Saturday. I'm catching a cold which is REALLY annoying me, so we'll see how I do.

I've watched the two World Series game, and I'm rooting whole heartedly (not a word. xD) for the Rangers, though I don't think they'll win. 1-1 now. Both of the teams are really, really good, the pitching especially - they don't hardly allow ANYTHING. Excited for Saturday.
We're up against your Vikings on Sunday, TheGeneral. I'm really, really hoping that we make it 7-0, but I'm not really asking for the Packers to do any better than they have been.

Well, so much for really, really good pitching during the World Series. The offensive forces came out during Game 3, and Albert Pujols reminded us why he was named the player of the decade.
Still rooting for Texas, since they've never won a World Series before. If they win their next two games, they should have a chance, but game 4 is especially an absolute must-win.
New Zealand 8- 7 France
That was close, defying everyone's expectations. As always, I was cheering for Les Bleu, but given the situation and the rough year NZ has had with disasters man-made and natural, I can live with an All-Blacks win. And of course, for the opening, La Marseillaise vs the Haka
Coming up, United vs. City- the Battle of the Chequebooks
The difference is that people wanted to hear the stories, whereas I never met anyone who wanted to read the essays
The Packers did indeed go to 7-0 in today's game against the Vikings. Sigh.
Though Christian Ponder does show promise as an up-and-coming QB.
In other football scores, St Louis defeated Texas 16-7. No wait, that's a baseball score.
I'm looking forward to tonight's World Series game with the Cardinals and the Rangers...especially with that kind of offense on both teams.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Rangers took Game 4 by a score of 4-0. It's now tied 2-2.
Broncos overcame a 15-0 deficit with 2:24 left to play to tie the game and win in OT against Miami. This is the first time a team has overcomes a deficit of 15 points with less than 3 minutes to play and win since the AFL/NFL merger in 1970. Tim Tebow is a tale of two QB's. One that plays horrifically until five minutes left in the game and suddenly becomes an re-incarnation of John Elway. He nearly came back against San Diego two weeks ago before Denver's bye week (game winning throw batted away by the defense in the end zone) but succeeded against Miami. If he played the way he's played the last five minutes of both the last two games for the whole game, Denver could be scary good.
And the Colts sans-Peyton Manning have revealed exactly what kind of team they are without him. He was the team. The Colts have are now 0-7 and have the worst defeat of the year so far by getting plastered by New Orleans 62-7.

Yay for the Packers! They just can't be stopped. Though I agree that Ponder did a great job, and could have a good future!
The Rangers game was marvelous. Every time the Cardinals win a game I think "Oh, they're so great, we don't have a chance" and then we come out of the blue and win. We completely, completely deserved it this time, that pitching by Holland was incredible and he did a wonderful job

The Rangers have won Game 5 by a score of 4-2 and are one win away from their first franchise championship. However, the Series goes back to St Louis now and I doubt the Cardinals will go quietly into the night.

Boy, is that true!
To be honest, I'm in total shock right now... and utterly giddy.
I mean, for a long time, we didn't even think we'd make it to the playoffs. And now we've got our 11th Championship. It's surreal.
I am SO proud of my Redbirds right now! All my life I've heard that we have "the best fans in baseball"... well, tonight I told my dad that we wouldn't be the best fans if we didn't have the best team. I also told him that I'm proud to be from a family that has come from St. Louis for generations. This team is in our blood!
I'm proud that my team is full of men with great (and humble!) attitudes... whether a win or a loss. I'm proud and pleased that a lot of them are Christians, and OPENLY talk about (and thank) God! I'm proud of how they can appreciate the hardwork of the players on the other teams. I love how they give back to the community, and how they always thank us, the fans. And there are probably even MORE reasons I love this team!
Seeing their reactions when we won, was awesome. And hearing Tony and the team talk afterwards warmed my heart, and brought tears to my eyes.
And might I just say...
I think all of the teams this year did a spectacular job, you guys should all be proud of your teams!
To the fans of the Rangers:
I really feel for you, and I want you to know that it was an amazing ride! This season wouldn't have been near as exciting without our match-up in the World Series. I salute you!

Okay, now that baseball is done, it's time to focus on my other favourite sport. HOCKEY! *wonders how the Blues have been doing*
Enjoy the celebration, Princess Anna!
Congrats to the Cardinals! Game 6 was pretty amazing, with error after error early in the game settling into a 'routine' with the Cardinals getting a tie each time the Rangers got ahead. That 'we'll see you tomorrow night' call with that 11th inning home run was reminiscent of the same one made by Joe Buck's father, Jack, when Kirby Puckett hit a home run to win Game 6 of the 1991 Series. (The end result, a home team victory in Game 7, was the same as well ).

Congrats to the Cards - I came very near to liking them. I've always disliked them, for years, especially when I became a big fan of the Brewers, and I was whole heartedly rooting for the Rangers - but I had a big smile on my face as I watched their celebration. They are a good team, I really like a lot of the members, and it was just so sweet to see their joy.
