How about those Rockies? They just swept the Mets on the road in a double-header and four-game set and have a 1 1/2 game lead for best record in the whole Major League. They also have my front runner for MVP in Troy Tulowitzki absolutely tearing it up on the plate and on defense. And most of this run has been on the road where they are 7-1. Watch out for this team!

The Twins - who won the AL Central the last couple years - are struggling this year. They currently have the worst record in baseball (though it's still early in the season).

Nevertheless, there's still something to celebrate as Twins pitcher Francisco Liriano threw the major leagues' first no-hitter of the season in Chicago tonight, and they defeated the White Sox 1-0.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Derrick Rose was named MVP! That the bit of good news for Chicago Bulls fans. The bad news is that Rose hurt his ankle once again in the last game (which they lost).

The Cardinals are now 17-13. :) Today Carpenter pitches, I'm really hoping he gets the win. He doesn't have one yet this year and he really needs one. :)

In the NBA Playoffs, the Lakers are down 3-0 to the Dallas Mavericks(which I'm very excited about; I despise the Lakers), the Bulls are up 2-1 on the Hawks, the Miami Heat are up 2-0 on the Celtics with Game 3 today, and the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Memphis Grizzlies are tied 1-1, with their Game 3 also tonight.

Mark my words, someday I will think of something brilliant to put in my sig.

Update to that. Celtics won to pull within 2-1 and the Grizz won to take a 2-1 lead.

And how about those Lakers? Got swept by Dallas. The only thing that could be as beautiful as that would be a sweep against Miami. (In the NBA Playoff world only.)

Well, Chris Carpenter didn't get a win on the 4th, but he did get one last night when the Cardinals beat the Cubs 6-4. :)

RIP Harmon Killebrew, who died today at age 74 from cancer. He spent most of his major league career with the Twins, and I remember watching him play at the old Met Stadium (now the site of the Mall of America) back in the '60s. His 573 home runs put him 11th on the all-time career list.

Locally, he's being remembered not only as a Hall of Famer but as a gentleman. My brother (who's the real baseball fanatic in my family) managed to get his autograph back in the day; recently he sent Killebrew a card and received a personalized response.

A salute on the Twins website can be read here.

I am incredibly depressed that Miami have the upperhand against the Bulls in this round. Especially since I know the Bulls can be playing so much better than they are. I admit, their offense is on par with Miami but Chicago has so much better defense.

I don't understand why the Bulls are playing so sub-par. We won all the games against the Heat in the regular season and won the first game against them in the playoff. After that, it has been all downhill.

The only way they can win now is if they win the remaining games.

I'm pulling for Dallas to win the NBA title. It will just kill me if LeBron gets it.
