I can't remember the last time I watched a baseball game. I think you either love it or don't watch it all when it comes to that sport :) .

Right now tonight the Vikings are tied 14-14 with the Packers so far... go Vikes!! :p

I'll post, stargazer! I'm biiiig baseball fan, along with the rest of my family. My mom and dad met at a Dodgers game of all places. xD

The World Series is very interesting this year in that there is no underdog, or rather, BOTH teams are underdogs. Both the Texas Rangers and the San Franscisco Giants have NEVER won the World Series (the Giant's last WS was 56 years ago in New York). :P It's a nice change from last year, where the two favorites made the World Series.

Being a Dodgers fan, I am obligated to root for the Rangers. :p Sorry, Kate, no offense taken I hope. ;))

I watched that Vikings game as well. It appears they may have lost more than just the game, depending on the extent of Favre's injury.

I'm not sure who I'll root for in the Series. Maybe I'll just sit back and watch it. Both teams are underdogs, like Minotaur pointed out. Maybe I'll cheer for the Rangers since they're in the AL and they knocked out the Yankees (who knocked out the hometown team). ;))

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

I cannot believe that Jimmie Johnson won the NASCAR Cup championship again! (No offence to Jimmie of course ;) ) Is there anyone who can compete with this guy? This year was much closer though than the previous years...his win relied a lot more on luck... Can't wait for next season :)

No! There is not. And this win was not luck, it was skill. He didn't have the fastest car during the final weeks. But thanks to Chad's brilliance and Jimmie's perseverance, coupled with Jeff Gordon’s pit crew. The number 48 though came through and won the cup.

In the end it all came down to who made the least mistakes, Hamlin spun out early in the race. Harvick sped on pit road. The only problem Jimmie had was his pit crew, who fumbled two stops.

At one point in the race Hamlin raced his way up in front of Jimmie, but his beat up car couldn't stay there and he slid back to finish 14th, Harvick and Johnson raced their way to 3rd and 2nd, respectivly. And at that point the championship could go either way. If Harvick had caught Jimmie he would have wrecked him, but Jimmie's car was just to fast.

FIVE IN A ROW! WOOT!

For NBA fans, what do you think of the Lebron James act in Miami? I am loving how he ditched the team he lead so well to try to build a superstar team that is pretty well struggling. I do not see Miami getting past Boston or Orlando in a playoff series at this point.

He's lucky ( %%- ) that his top two competitors of the year had a bad race ;)

;))

I will admit he does have skill... especially if he can bounce so quickly from 43rd to 1st the way he does... :-o

Are you ready for some (outdoor) football? ;)

It's been 29 years to the day since the Vikings played out-of-doors here at home. Over 3400 tons (3100 metric tons) of snow had to be removed from the University of Minnesota stadium to get it ready for tonight's game...and it's snowing again. 4-7 inches (10-18 cm) of new snow may fall by game time.

At least it won't be bitterly cold at the game, with temperatures predicted to be around 25F/-4C. But I plan to watch it from the comfort of my living room rather than being outside. ;))

In the baseball world, Cliff Lee became a hero for ditching the Yankee's giant contract offer to go somewhere where he would get less years and less money.

The Yankees are notorious for buying up all the good players by offering them absurdly large contracts because they can afford it. :P

The Duke Blue Devils are off to an awesome great start of the year despite a minor injury to Kyrie Irving. Coach K just tied Dean Smith (of the arch rival UNC Tarheels) for all time wins, with only Bobby Knight left in the lead. Unless he has a perfect year I don't see it happening until early next season, but if and when he does he'll have a record that few others will ever be able to beat. :D

Go Blue Devils!

I am an Indians fan, so I was glad to see him turn up the offer and go back to the NL. I don't know what I would have done if CC Sabathia and Lee were back together, but as Yankees! :-s

I'm rooting for the Packers myself. The Steelers have been there quite a bit recently but the Packers haven't been since Elway beat them since his first SB win. Plus my brother-in-law is as big a Packer fan as I am Bronco fan. And that's deep stuff there.

Not sure who to cheer for. The Packers represent my home team's own division (NFC North), so that should count for something - but it's the Packers! An arch-rival. ;))

It'll be a fun game to watch.
