Indeed, I have returned. Nice to see you again too, F2!
I dunno, I saw Holiday Inn before I saw White Christmas, so I guess my memories of it are fonder. Both are great though! The songs are wonderfully catchy.
Sadly, the only Christmas movie I've watched all the way through this year is Elf. It's a funny movie...but way overplayed. I don't think a day has gone by when I haven't seen it on AMC or ABC or some other movie channel. Overkill, if I must say so myself...

That's similar to how it goes for myself- I saw White Christmas years ago when I was younger, and just recently saw Holiday Inn, so I can understand the fond memories part. It was neat seeing the song "White Christmas" in its original (I think?) setting in Holiday Inn, however, and the plot and premise of the same film were unique. I must say that generally I really like Fred Astaire's roles in the movies with him I've seen, but in Holiday Inn I rather disliked his character.

Kind folks of old, you come again no more.
(Robert Louis Stevenson)
Any of you seen the nightmare before christmas?
Ooh! I know remember! I must include in my fave list, Fred Claus! Yes I am certain that's the one. The whole story is quite cheesy but funny, I still am giving this a 3 out of 5.
