DigoryKirke: Wow. You made me hungry with that. LOL. The toffee sounded delicious! And the pie, hope to try one next time. I really haven't tried pies... the ones like apple, peach, and pumpkin. :(

Fantasia kitty: Clam chowder? Wow, never tasted one. Is it delicious???

Clam chowder is a soup made up of lots of little clams rather than one big clam. Yes, it's quite good. :D There are two types my mom makes. One is called Boston Clam Chowder and this is the much more common one found here in the States. It's a milk based soup and nice and creamy. :D
The other is Manhattan Clam Chowder and it's got most of the same ingredients in it except it's a tomato based soup instead. :)

The women always end up really fat, and since we squeeze the dough through one of those garlic-squeezer things to make hair, we always end up making the 'rock star' gingerbread man with his hair standing straight up.

That is awesome. :))

I really haven't tried pies... the ones like apple, peach, and pumpkin.

I am horribly uncultured, and I don't know what types of ingredients you'd have in your country. But if you would like to try a pie sometime, I would be more than happy to share a recipe with you. :)

So I made my first rather major error with my Holiday Dessert cooking this year. :)) I was making some cookies last night that sounded interesting and basically they were a oh... I guess I'll call them a Crunch Cowboy Cookie on the outside and they were filled with a chocolate cream cheese frosting. Well, the recipe called for two packages of Cream Cheese, but I failed to see that it called for 3oz packages and I used 8 oz packages instead. =)) It still turned out good (if you like cream cheese ;)) ) but I have a LOT of frosting left over as you can imagine. I think I'll just get some graham crackers to use up the rest of the frosting on. ;))

Clam chowder is an iffy proposition to me. I will not eat the New England variety (creamy stuff is...ick. Sorry, mental block ;)) ) but kind of enjoy the Manhattan variety. But even if you get good chowder you're gonna end up eating at least a little sand.

fantasia_kitty: LOL. Pie really isn't much made here. There are some who buy or bake them, but mostly, we eat sweet ham. But I am more than glad to take a bite of some pie.
