It took me very close to 6 runs to finish the Fort. Now I've been doing tourneys and treasure lists - the lists have got me a few hundred K gold, which is useful
I've bought everything I wanted to get from the Ice Coins - those that I get from now on, will probably be spent on Warpath Commander charms (I want more of those). I need to go back to FW again - another Bead would be great right now!
In my opinion, this is a very good event

Yeah, I agree, Varna - this has been the best Christmas event in years.
I just finished all of my upgrades. I must say that I do like the look of it . Bought the theme even though I'll probably never use it.
Gonna stay in the Christmas area to gather as many ice coins as possible. Hoping to convert them into. . . something. . . don't quite know what yet. Maybe some more gauntlet potions or commanders charms

Bouncing back and forth between the Christmas event and the Warpath (Warpath is to Me what the Gauntlet is to Cep ). Helping with treasure maps and tournaments on the side. My real life family did a tournament over the Christmas break and got 1st which surprised me because of how many teams joined. Thought that was kind of cool.
Anyways, the reason I am posting is because I forgot to mention an intriguing spoiler the devs shared during FeedBAKE FRY-day. When asked about an event for the Winter Olympics, they said they will be combining three events into one this winter. I assume that means Valentines, Chinese New Year, and Winter Olympics all rolled into one? Should be an interesting event.
Congratulations on that Gold trophy, fk!
I've done more tournaments than ever during this event - I had bought the Silver Base shortly before the GWH started, and I'm back at 71 tokens now. Still a long way to go before I can get the Golden Base, but I'm far, far closer to it than I thought I would be, just before Halloween!
The Nice and Naughty lists have been better than the Halloween treasure maps. So much easier that it's possible to get through a lot more of them. I've probably made close to a million gold on them ...
I've caught quite a few Elf mice and got useful stuff from the Purple Boxes - building materials for Muridae Market, which I've hardly started working on yet, and enough Technic Moulds and Mystic Curds to bring me back to 45 Checkmate cheese! When I did a Library assignment and used so much of the cheese to catch the Queen that I ran out before I could catch the Chessmaster, I thought that it would take me several ZT runs to renew that cheese store. Now I'm ready for another go for the Chessmaster (and perhaps a double run)
But I'll smash the next assignment that requires Checkmate cheese for the Queen
FW for me as well, in between tourneys and lists. I'm only on my second run, so even if I should get my 2nd SBM now, I'd still need another victory to craft it - but I would probably just hang on to it for now anyway and save the gold. Other trap loot would be for selling - which would be good at this time ... (and I am aware that trap loot is not guaranteed any more).
Three combined events? With the Winter Olympics possibly being one of the three? Yes, that sounds interesting

If the Warpath is to FK what the Gauntlet is to Cep, I suppose my area would be Furoma (although I haven't been there in months, lol). Man, I love Rumble so much, haha.
Well, I had a bit of luck this week. After I'd finished the Snow Fort I headed straight to the Warpath hoping to get lucky with a loot drop, preferably an Oasis Bead because the price is SO INFLATED right now. Well, I got EXACTLY what I wanted and sold my Bead for just about as much as I sold my last Sphynx Crystal, which was 5.5 mil.
Thanks to the bead, I'm decently set up for Ronza now. I have 15mil plus another 6.5 mil in LG trap investments which I bought awhile back but planned to wait to craft until Ronza came (or I was sufficiently rich). That's more than I had last year, but ideally I'd like to get about 30mil for Ronza but we'll see how that goes, lol.
I have to say, I've been VERY lucky on the Warpath..six runs, four loot drops. I suppose it makes up for the fact that I'm actually fairly behind for my level when it comes to the LG (Only have one of the three traps and not really that close to a second). Oh well...I'll just have to keep working away.
(Warpath is to Me what the Gauntlet is to Cep )
Heh. Will be cruising back there in a day or two. Working through Tier 3.
“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
Alright, just for fun... End of 2013 statistics (minus a few mice for early 2014. )
Breeds Caught: 423 / 423
Event Breeds Caught: 95 / 96 (missing High Roller)
Mice Caught: 86199
Gold Crowns: 36
Silver Crowns: 197
Copper Crowns: 230
Collectibles: 114/117 (missing Frozen Bottle, Z's Sock, and Z's Rock)
Favoritest Trap Setup: Chrome Monstrobot with Rift Base
Favoritest Mouse: Desert Architect
Favoritest Area: Fiery Warpath
Unfinished goals to accomplish in 2014: Craft the Ultimate Charm, get all missing collectibles, get the new LE trap from the new treasure chests, and anything they throw at me for Year of the Noble.
Well, I've pretty much done all I plan to in the Snow Fort area. I'll keep jumping on maps as people send me requests, but I've done all the hunting I want.
In the meantime, I'll be spending time doing runs in the Varmint Valley and LG areas, trying to make progress and collect gold before Ronza/the Valentine's event (whichever comes first). I'd like to get up to 8 or 8.5 million gold by then. That may not be enough to buy everything she brings, but I can probably snag something I'll like.

I've been pondering the gold situation lately. I'd like to think that with 34.5mil gold I'm in good shape for whatever they throw at us in the next month or two. But I realized that I was only thinking of Ronza cause DiGs and stwin have mentioned her a time or two, and I'm missing a rather large potential gold drain... and that's the new content.
I know whatever they're planning is going to be big, so who knows what to expect? New traps? New bases? A new standard cheese that costs 1,200g a pop? Charms akin to the Shattering Charm? I am anticipating taking a pretty significant hit to the gold reserves because they gifted us an area that let you just rake in the cash (trains). Will I have money left over for Ronza when she shows up?
I thought about offloading some goods onto the Market in case the prices plummet, but then I wondered if they'll use basic crafting materials in the new area (like Divine Orbs) so I should hang onto them instead? I'll probably compromise and get rid of stuff I know won't show up, like old extraneous trap skins I don't like.
Less than a week until the GWH ends and then the Year of the Noble is right around the corner!! *fangirl squee*
ETA: *sticks some Brain Charms on the Marketplace*
Yeah, I'm at approximately 11.4 million right now, which should put me in decent shape for Ronza. I'd like to have more (a lot more, actually) but the situation is what it is for now. Who knows. . . perhaps at the end of this warpath run I'll get a SBM to drop, and can sell that
I'm also looking forward to the Year of the Noble, although I've no idea what it will entail. . . FK's fangirlish squees have gotten me excited.
So, on my to do list:
-Keep stockpiling gold until Ronza comes
-After Ronza comes, craft the Rift base (which I already have all the pieces too, and have just been waiting for Ronza to come and go)
-Continue doing tournaments and maps
-Work on that wretched train area (but hey. . . it'll get me more gold)

You think it'll take over 30 million in gold to get everything Ronza has to offer? In previous years, wasn't it more like 10 million?

Last time Ronza came I was only able to afford the Tara trap and the Chrome Monstro upgrade, and only because my sis-in-law gave me a loan of 6mil.
Tarannosaurus Rex Trap - 4mil
Chrome Monstro Upgrade - 12.5mil
Isle Idol Trap - 1.25mil
The new LG Charms - range from 2,000 - 15,000/piece
Without the charms, the three traps were 17.75mil and it gets more and more expensive every time she comes. I was flat broke when she left last time. I had only saved money for traveling expenses and cheese cost.
Looks like I'd better start farming more gold then.
I doubt I'll buy any of the LG Charms. I only want to make sure I can afford all the new traps and bases. Right now I have almost 20.5mil, and I'm about to go on a Mojo/Sojo hunt.

Well, consider that Ronza will probably bring stuff pertaining to the new area...so there's that...
Finally decided to leave the Snow Fort. I set up in the gauntlet on tier 3 for a bit. I kept some supplies for next year, but I invested most of my spare ice coins in tier 3 potions.
I was looking through my skins and to my astonishment, I've picked up the Festive Sandtail Sentinel Skin and the Winter Steam Mark III skin. Not sure when that happened. I'll probably sell them on the marketplace. I also have a second Festive Snow Sphynx that I bought specifically to sell on the marketplace.
I've currently got 14.8 mil in gold. I've got 30 rumble, so I may go on a mojo hunt. I've also got a TON of crafting supplies for checkmate cheese. I kept getting the various molds in the gift boxes.
I've got everything but the blueprints for the rift base. After Ronza comes through, I'll craft that as soon as I get enough gold.
