Yeah, once you enter Icewing's Lair under 250 hunts, your journal will tell you to arm your Deep Freeze Base. Once you catch the Icewing you'll have another 200ft to travel through the Hidden Depths until you get to the Deep Mouse. Thankfully that last 200ft goes pretty fast (it's made up of Living Salt Mice, Frostwing Commanders, and one more mouse that I can't remember. Probably the Frostlance Guard) . If you do make it there under 250 hunts you are guaranteed to catch Deepy I guess.
The Deep Mouse is guaranteed only if you make it to the Deep Lair (at the end of that extra 200 ft) by hunt 250. So if you make it to the Deep Lair on hunt 249, your next catch will be a Deep Mouse.
That said, my chances of making a successful run in fewer than 250 hunts is slim, and I still need to craft the DFB.
I'm hanging out in the Gnawnian Games until I finish my second run. I figure two runs' worth of those Athlete Charms is good and then I'll head back to the Warpath.

Yeah, the people that go for the Deep Mouse without using SB+ have to be pretty lucky. I've had a couple runs where I think I might have been able to snag a second Deep Mouse if I had had all 8 drill charges ready to go. I know during testing the devs snagged a couple Deep Mice using gouda so it's certainly possible, just really hard.
I realized yesterday that doing several Warpath tournaments has severely depleted my stockpile of Charm supplies. So I may wait a little bit to do another Warpath tournament in the hopes of restocking. (Currently doing so in Wave 2, forgot how painful it is to do this without charms. ) Either that or if I do another Warpath tourny, I won't cater to the tournament points so my teammates will hate me.
Gives me something to do.
ETA: Question, has anyone been in the Warpath lately and had trouble getting drops? Just went through the entire Wave 2 and didn't get a single horseshoe. I thought that was a little odd so I was curious if it was just a fluke or another bug.
Slogging ever downward through this iceberg. Currently at a depth of 748 feet on hunt #114. I wouldn't go so far as to say that the Deep mouse is off the table at this point, but it's not going to be easy

Actually, *looks at her own numbers* you could be doing a little better, but I don't think that's too bad. I wouldn't take the possibility of going after the Deep Mouse off the table yet.
Yes, and in the past 12 hunts, I've dived another 135 feet! Currently at 883 and #126.
EDIT: Still doing VERY well. This is probably the best run I've ever had. Currently sitting at a depth of 1,230 feet on hunt #165. That will have me enter the mad depths at approximately hunt #220. Then it's drill-baby-drill. Nine drill charges will carry me to the very bottom of the Mad Depths. Then it's a few mice to make the last 20 feet, Icewing and on to the Deep mouse.
Here's hoping that this works!!!!

Moving on to Tier IV of King's Gauntlet.
2251 Tier III moose taken. 285 Tier IV potions dropped. Average drop rate of 12.3%.
Generated 1,140 pieces of Tier IV cheese.
“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
Meh. I smashed two Furoma assignments, picked up a third, and still couldn't avoid my lack of the Onyx Mallet. Oh well, I have it now. Once I finish this assignment I will probably head for the Garden to get my Amplifier up. I am thinking about going back to the Iceburg to try for the Deep Mouse but that would require a lot of time in the Shoreline farming war scraps. Or I could go to the Acolyte Realm and try for the Chrono again. That is one very annoying mouse.
My chances of snagging a deep mouse have gone way up . Thanks to using all of my drill charges, and thanks to having an awesome run through the bombing run, I'm at a depth of 1,780 feet on hunt 199.
I'll hopefully enter Icewing's lair around hunt 205. If I snag Icewing within ten hunts (which is pretty average for me), that would give me 35 hunts before hitting 250.
I'm spending inactive time in the shoreline (I don't really know why ), but I don't want to mess this up by doing something stupid on an hourly

Jacob is drawing the 400th mouse today. I don't think anyone knows how it will fit into the game yet, but it looks cool (Cyborg/Transformers Mouse?). Not my favorite, but cool.
NICE DiGs about your run! And very interesting that you used Runny Cheese for the whole thing. They said it was on par with Gouda so I'm wondering if you just had a lucky run or if maybe Runny Cheese is a bit better. Good luck on the remaining bit of the Iceburg and hope you get your Deep Mouse soon!
About to wrap up Wave 3 here. Just a few more Cavalry and Mage mice to go. Hoping for a trap piece to drop this time around.
ETA: Ok, that mouse turned out a lot better than I was expecting. I'm definitely being transported back to the days of '80s and '90s cartoons looking at it.

I have entered the Hidden Depths. Hunt number 212 and a depth of 25 feet. I really hope I get my Deep; if I do, I'll just need Drheller from here.

Well, I now have little green check marks on three of the mouse categories. I had finished up The Shadow Clan awhile ago; and yesterday and today, I have finally completed the Elub and Nerg tribes, and am now working on crowning them all. I'm going to wait to go after all of the Derr tribe until after I have updated my Drillbot. I'll need a few more points and gold before I do that, though.
As I camp out in the Tribal Isles, I've noticed something about the Tribal cheeses, such as Shell, Gumbo, and Crunchy. My trap goes from Medium to Mild when I arm it, and what's more, I have a terrible catch rate. Is that normal?
So, this weekend is a Lucky Mouse weekend. Has anyone noticed that the Lucky Mouse seems harder to catch this time around. Last time, I camped out in the Pinnacle Chamber and caught one after another. Last night, I stayed in the Pinnacle Chamber, and didn't catch any.
I caught and crowned all three of the new Event mice. I left the track after that. How long will that event be going? Is it best to use the Runny Cheese and Athlete Charms during the event, or will they be just as useful after the event is over? I noticed in the Athlete Charm description, it said it would still retain some potency after the event. Does that mean it will also lose some?
So, after checking off three of the mouse categories, I started looking at some of the old categories I have left to check off. In many of them, I only had a few left. I'm wondering how many of those I would be able to catch at this point of the game, and what set-up I should use to do so. Here's what I have left of each group:
Indigenous Mice: Pebble, Tiny, Frosty Snow, Nibbler, Farmhand, Crown Collector.
Gauntlet Gladiators: Necromancer, Fiend, Eclipse.
Forest Guild: Silth
Digby Dirt Dwellers: Nugget, BBB
Followers of Furoma: Dumpling Chef, Dojo Sensei
The Forgotten Mice: Realm Ripper, Sorcerer, Spectre, Gate Guardian, Gorgon, Reaper, Wight, Lich, Chrono, Acolyte.
Aquatic Order: Shelder, Cook.
I'm guessing all or most of the Indigenous Mice are SB+ only. What is the best location/set-up to catch them? Is the Crown Collector also SB+ only? And how many crowns must you have to catch it? I've heard the Eclipse and Acolyte mice are caught with the Ancient Box trap. What about the other mice in their categories? What's the best set-up for them? I've tried catching the mice in the Forbidden Grove with my ACRONYM, but that was disastrous and I just got robbed and had little to no catches. Do I have a trap powerful enough yet to catch the BBB, Sensei, and Silth mice? And how do I get those pesky Nugget, Shelder, Cook, and Dumpling Chef mice?

^^ I haven't read through your whole post yet, but with regards to the Shell/Gumbo/Crunchy, I believe the change in trap effectiveness would be because the mice you are now attracting with that cheese are a LOT tougher and harder to catch than the mice you catch with Gouda. With Gouda, you can't even attract those pepper seed mice, so of course your trap is more effective.
They're just harder mice to catch...nothing strange about that.
The Crown Collector is not SB+ but you need roughly 80 silver crowns to get a decent shot at attracting it, is what I was told.
ETA: Editing as I read along, lol. I caught my three Senseis with an Ambush and my BBB with a Digby Drillbot, I think. Either a DDB or an Acronym. Both are not easy but if I can catch three Sensei's with an Ambush, you will have a much more decent shot with a HVMT, lol. Dumpling Chef and Cook mice are SB+ and Shelder is very, very rare. That one will take a lot of Gouda and a LOT of patience! I still don't have my Dumpling Chef yet but I didn't spend much time with SB+ in the right areas.
I finished my second Warpath run, but there was no trap part drop. I'm not surprised, since most people say they didn't get one on the second run. The Monger did drop a lot of Simple Orbs and Flameshards, so I'm a bit better equipped for my next run. As in, I actually have some charms.
I'm spending some time in the Market trying to rebuild the Charm Shoppe, because I want better charms. I'm about halfway overall, but I am sorely behind on Timber. I may stay here until I finish the Shoppe or I may go for another Iceberg or Warpath Run. Those are basically my to-do areas right now, aside from assorted SB+ only, rare and Big Bad (e.g. Chrono and Eclipse) mice.

I finished two Runs in the Games, and am in the Catacombs earning money. I'm wondering whether my runny cheese will have any effect there...?
