I would like to lodge a formal complaint as that often gets results... :P When I've not been doing train rides, I've been in the Iceburg full time trying to catch the Living Salt Mouse for a treasure map. :P I've just about done a full Iceburg run trying to catch this dumb mouse. :P I also don't believe this run has been good enough to get into the Hidden Depths should I get all the way to Icewing's Lair. ~x( /slightly frustrated /doesn't like the Iceburg

I can appreciate that frustration. One reason why I stick with the Gauntlet; predictable and not at all frustrating. Have trapped a crazy amount of vermin in there. While perhaps a little on the boring side, it is quite fun to see the 379K points and 300K gold gains when trapping the Eclipse, or trapping on Tier VII or Tier VI varieties.

Over the last months I've quietly farmed gold and reached just over 17 mill.
Today I've spent about 10 mill of that :p

I finished my first Warpath run, and got rewarded with a Sandblasted Metal B-)
I'll keep that for now and leave any Monstro plans for later.

Then I went to the Marketplace and bought what I needed for the other traps, and crafted the SW and the OWN.
I finally have my Kitty B-)
She's been hunting Mojos for me for a while (even caught her first Sojo), and now I'm taking the OWN to Elub Shores.

Congarats.

Soft kitty, warm kitty
Little ball of fur
Lazy kitty, sleepy kitty
Purr, purr, purr

By far, one of my favorite weapons.

And I got my Bandit Deflector this morning :D

EDIT: Would y'all recommend that I use the Bandit Deflector in all areas of the train now? It does look like it has better stats than SLAC 2, but I don't know if it only works well in the bandit stage of the train.

Congratulations :D
I still need 94 or 96 Copper to get mine ...

I've been to the Tribal Isles with both new traps, farming yellow and blue peppers.
I feel that the catch rate has been taken to a completely new level ... B-)

I don't see how it can hurt. Better stats are better stats. :)

I'm currently in Tier 3 of the Gauntlet. I started out this morning with 691 pieces of T3 cheese and 8 random pieces of T4 cheese from potions I'm guessing came from an event. I'm not going to convert my potions this time until I'm out of cheese, as I'm curious about how many potions that much cheese will net me. My preliminary estimates say I should get about 69 T4 potions from this. I'm currently looting them at the right rate for that, at least.

I understand. :) But I like a challenge so I prefer being frustrated to being bored. ;)) Although, it's more than that, I'm a stubborn person and I refuse to let a mouse get the best of me. :P
As of this morning, I'm still after that pesky mouse. I made it through one full Iceburg run and missed the Hidden Deeps by two hunts. :P This Iceburg run is going much better so far, but I'm almost to the Bombing Run yet again and still no Living Salt Mouse. What a royal pain in the rear.

Varna, congrats on your SBM from your first Warpath run, and congrats on your Kitty trap and the OWN as well! :D How is Mojo/Sojo hunting going?

I have to confess, I never even looked at the stats I just assumed that the SLAC 2 was better. I will say this, I've been late a few times changing traps on a train ride and have still successfully caught mice, so if you think the Bandit Deflector works better, by all means, use that one. :) And congrats on getting it by the way! :)

@Stwin, good luck in Tier 3 of the Gauntlet! :) I'm sure Cep could whip out his stats and give you a good estimate on your likely results. ;))

I watched the Mobile FBF this morning and in addition to the news about the treasure chests that Gymmie posted on FB, there was another very interesting tidbit they're adding at least to the mobile app... not sure about the browser version, but it needs to be. One of my biggest gripes with the game was the requirement of the wiki for early level crafting. I prefer games that are confined entirely within the play of the game itself. Some of the crafting recipes show up in Plankrun's journal, but many do not, and you have no choice but to go look them up. They are adding a feature where you can complete a task and they'll add the recipe to your crafting journal. So like you have to catch a certain mouse or mice in the Dojo and they give you the recipe for Sucheese or something like that. You can still go look up the recipe if you wish and craft it ahead of time, but this gives a nice alternative for people like myself who don't like cheats. :)

Thank you!
I took both my new traps to the Tribal Isles to farm peppers for Havarti for the Mega Tourney, and they were catching the Elub and Nerg boss mice very nicely! B-)

I've caught Mojos for poking 45 Unstable Curds, and bronzed the Sojo - I think I've made close to 2 mill since I bought the new traps. There are lots of red boxes for the Sojo - but I also had a streak of 4 catches, and the catch rate has been better than expected! :)

The Mojo comes nicely when the Kitty calls for him. ;) Not every time, but giving me a very pretty catch rate.

Furoma is where I'll be passively hunting for a while. Sojo when I'm completely passive, and Mojo when I throw in the odd horn. At least one mill gold per week, I hope ...

Is it reasonable, though, to start a Zurreal assignment before the Great Winter Hunt? I don't want to have to smash it because there is a GWH assignment instead. But I'd really like the Reaper's Perch to replace the brain trap.

When you say 'a Zurreal assignment', do you mean THE Zurreal assignment? The one to craft the trap to catch Zurreal? It only took me maybe 3 days to complete it and I was held up on the Realm Rippers. But you know how much I hunt and it is something you have to be relatively active in order to streamline. Average time, I'd guess maybe a week?

THE Zurreal assignment indeed, the one to get the trap to catch Zurreal so he can give me blueprints for the other trap. "A" would be to do it again later, just for fun and for extra copies of the loot ...

If it's just a week's time, I should be able to do it before the GWH :)

There are also the train traps to get - but they are easier to hop on and off.
And there's Furoma when I'm not active.

If you exclude the crafting of the rift base and the ultimate charms, I am DONE with the Living Garden!!!!!!! Just caught the third of the boss mice. :D :D :D Now to go on trains like crazy even if I just sleep through it.

I have none of the new traps.

278 iron
213 copper
187 tin

So I'm making slow progress on the trap parts. I have the gold to craft the rift base. I'm just not sure I want to spend the money on the blueprints right now since Ronza's last visit was so pricey.

Headed into Tier 4 with 340 pieces of T4 cheese. I will probably stop after this as I still need a Magic egg and I will prob save all my T5 cheese for that. I should be able to finish T5-8 during Easter as I really won't have that much cheese, lol. Plus I don't have a ton of leftover Easter mice to catch...watch as they add a super crazy egg that will take forever though, lol.

Well, the potion drop rate has plummeted for me. I have 18 potions now after using 200 pieces of cheese. This is a bit better than where I was yesterday (when I was 4 or 5 potions short of my estimate; now I'm only 2), but I'm getting nowhere near the statistical average on potions (which is 11 potions per hundred cheese used).

That's not a bad idea to save some cheese, Gymmie. I may look at the different Gauntlet Eggs and save a handful of cheese for each. I have the lower ones already (provided they don't add new ones this year), so I really only need the Eclipse, but it might add some more fun to the event to hunt more. Then again, I still need a Deep Egg as well (not to mention the mouse). Maybe I can also get a good Iceberg run going before Easter.

ETA: Actually, I am still missing the T5 egg, so I guess I'll borrow Gymmie's strategy and make it to T5 and then hold. I'm also missing ALL of the Iceberg eggs, so I guess it's in my best interests to get to Icewing's Lair on a good Deep run and then cycle through to the beginning. The rest that I'm missing are mostly rare/boss/SB+ only mice. *sigh*

I'm currently joining Eli and Ceppy in the gauntlet. I've got 420 pieces of tier 3 cheese right now, and 67 pieces of tier 4. I haven't been back here for so long. . . so I don't remember if that's good or not :))
