You got an Aether on a map?! :-o :-o :-o Good freakin' luck with that. :p ;)

Well, not a WHOLE lot going on in the land of Gym's hunting. :p I did finally get my 900 library points (I don't know why I didn't start doing the Advanced ZT assignments sooner...not much harder except for the requirement of the Chessmaster). Of course, I was in ZT while out and about on my phone and caught my King and Chessmaster back to back. Good for the tower run, bad because I didn't have a chance to arm a Scholar charm OR disarm my CMC so I got booted out of the tower. :p So that would make the count: Chessmaster: 2, Scholar Charm: 0. lol!

But, since I got all my points that I needed, I was able to start my Zurreal's Folly assignment which means I'm THAT much closer to my Reaper's Perch! I'm just waiting on the Mesh Netting and one last Warp Nail, and then I'll be able to go after Zurreal and get the blueprints. I don't think I'll craft my RP yet because I want to craft my Monstro first, but I'll be happy just to have that out of the way.

In other news, I'm earning gold, slowly but surely. I officially have more gold then I did even before Ronza came, lol. Of course it'll all be gone very soon...still need 3mil! And about 300 flameshards! And another ERB crafted. :p Meh! At least I'm still SO MUCH CLOSER to getting that dang Monstro then I was a bit ago. :p

I was going to come on here and say that my groups have never had that much trouble with the Aether, certainly not compared to the Assassin and Black Widow, but I knew that if I did, we wouldn't catch one. So now that stwin has caught one two hunts into the tourny, I can say it. ;) LOL

Well, The Slushy Shoreline and Iceburg are optional areas, much like the Digby Dirt Dwellers, the King's Gauntlet, and Balack's Cove. You certainly get a sense of accomplishment by completing these areas, but it doesn't advance you in the game. No big traps or bases, no maps, etc.
Whereas Zugzwang's Tower is required to move on to the Fiery Warpath once you reach Baroness level.
And yes, the Seasonal Garden is incredibly boring. No reason to hunt there once you've caught all of the mice unless you need to charge your amplifier for Z's Tower.

Someone advised not to spend gold on all the special bases until you had tried the Iceberg and knew that you enjoyed it and would come back for fun. So I've only bought the Detonator blueprint so far. The traps have decent stats and give a small improvement over what I've got, and they're fairly cheap, so they won't be too much waste of gold. Also, I think the Iceberg is what I'll be ready for first. And I want to try it and catch all the mice at least once, whether I would enjoy going back or not.

Zugzwang's Tower is also necessary to get to the Crystal Library, isn't it?
Someone advised to get to the Library as soon as possible and only go back to the Tower with a Library assignment, that would get better value from the Tower.

Good to hear that it's not just me finding the SG boring. Some of the mice are quite charming - I love the Monarch, it's my favorite mouse so far (next to the Goldleaf), and the Hydrophobe is rather sweet - but the whole process is boring.
I'll have to spend more time there soon to get my Tower key, but after that, I guess I'll only do the necessary amplifier charging.

Currently I'm hunting the Elub Chieftain for a map ;)

Let me say, though, that if you are someone who plans to catch every mouse in the game (most people are), you WILL need all the special bases because I would wager that it's near impossible to catch a Deep mouse without 3/4 of the bases (I and others did it without Hearthstone). Not to mention, the bases aren't really that expensive and save you SO much time and frustration when catching the mice. And I assume that you're going to want to stay in the 'Berg long enough to get your SLMIII (unless you plan on crafting your OWN very, very soon), in which case you need a minimum of two full trips through the 'Berg, usually more like three or in my case, four, lol.

Also, I don't know why it was recommended to have around 100 War Scraps before you start the Iceburg...you only need enough to buy the Wax and Sticky charms, which isn't *that* much. A 5-pack only costs 1 War Scrap so you really don't need *that* many.

Sorry, I'm pontificating more where it is probably not required or wanted. :p

In other news, yesterday I caught my first Zurreal and Garga. Not a bad day. ;)) Onward in the Warpath! I'm *hoping* I can hold of my itchy finger and NOT buy my second SBM until I've earned enough Flameshards, since you never know if I'll get lucky with another loot drop, but we'll see. I'm just scared that the new area will release and it'll be a Physical and SBM's price will skyrocket. That would be MOST unfortunate.

Not at all - I was actually hoping for second opinions ;)

It may be a good way to invest my Egg Hunt earnings. That gold sits in my purse and doesn't give me any interest until I invest it in something that pays, so if those bases really is something that eases one's way through the game, perhaps I should do some more shopping after all. I do want the SLMIII, and I do want to catch every mouse at least once (and to bronze as many as possible).

And not needing to wait for 100 Warscraps sounds like a relief :p

Oh crud. . . I hadn't thought of that. The Chronstrobot upgrade is already creeping up to 20 million. . . . I cannot imagine it getting higher than that, but if the new area is a physical area, it definitely will.

We're holding first place in our tournament right now thanks to me starting things off with a silth and a harpy. Everybody's doing great!

I'm at 6.7 million right now. . . . so I still have a long way to go before getting to my goal

@Varna, I totally ditto everything that Gymmie said. If you're gonna do the Iceburg at all, you need those bases (except the Hearthstone). Liking the area has nothing to do with it. ;))

@Gymmie, congrats on Zurreal and the Garga! :D

I'm just scared that the new area will release and it'll be a Physical and SBM's price will skyrocket. That would be MOST unfortunate.

Yeah, that's always the danger, and on the other hand, it could go the other way too, where they release a new physical trap that requires an Enranged Rhinobot and bipasses the Monstrobot altogether. That sort of thing has happened many a time.

We're holding first place in our tournament right now...

I'm truly amazed we're doing this well. Particularly as a few of us have been offline for good chunks of it. That'd be so cool if we took first.
My Mousehunt sense is starting to tingle again because I'm wondering if the rumored Platinum Base might come out soon, and I've sort of taken a break from tournies and therefore don't have as many tokesn as I would have liked to at this point. However, since schools are getting out now, perhaps tournaments can pick up again over the summer.

ETA: Wow, first place! Can't believe it, but very cool! :D Thanks DiGs, Kat, and Ara :)

What new area is this?

All we know is that it'll be a wild west themed area, and it'll be located somewhere in Sandtail, which suggests that it'll be at least Baron/Baroness or higher (Although I'm going to guess probably Count. . . . or even Duke).

The Wild West themed area that Jacob has been drawing mice for in the past few FBFs. Here's one of them from the MH FB page.

I watched portions of Jacob's FBF this morning. It was quite a snazzy drawing. :D So now we're up to four mice. The Quickdraw, The Outlaw, The Undertaker, and the "Steel Horse I Ride" (Bon Jovi, get it? Haha).

I'm continually getting more and more excited for this new area, but my gold farming is going painfully slow. I'm still not quite halfway there (though I'm close). I should hit the halfway point over the weekend.

Less than 24 hours until Winter in the SG and then we can finish our Treasure Map. We only have the Icicle left. :) I know Kat has one LG treasure map and a lot of people are calling dibs on spots. ;)) I may go farm another one tonight so we can get two going. :)

Yeah. I do have another regular map as well. If the boss mice are on any of these though, we're in trouble. I think you are the only one who has caught them so far.

I'm currently 320 feet into my first run of the Iceberg. B-)

Someone advised not to spend gold on all the special bases until you had tried the Iceberg and knew that you enjoyed it and would come back for fun.

I see now that it doesn't work that way at all :p
I won't know what it's like until I've got all the special bases and can see how it really works. I'm still collecting Bottled Cold Fusion, so I can't get the bases yet, so all I can see now, is how the 'Berg works without them :-o

You advised me to get the bases, and I've taken your advice. I've bought the blueprints, and will craft them as soon as I can ...
(I'm following a different guide now, one that assumes that you'll want all the traps and bases.)

It's good to hear that they gave out new treasure maps for the Living Gardens. Good for you to get some new challenges! I won't be able to work on those maps for a long time, so I guess I'll stick to the old ones.

Without possessing a single gold crown, I have just caught a Crown Collector Mouse! :-o

Does this mean I win? B-)

Yes, yes it does.

I'm currently farming Mojos and Sojos for gold after our Furoma tourney yesterday, which helped me garner lots of Rumble. I'm at just over 1.7 million gold now.
