Well, I was able to farm 16 pieces of Lunaria this time. Here we go in the Twisted Garden. I've also got some Champion Charms I'm going to use with my GTB. I used up my stash of Ancient Charms trying to get more Herbs to drop in the Lost City. Time for another round of maps.
ETA: Also, I have my red and yellow dew drops poured out and I was able to catch an Essence Guardian, so I'm 2/2 on first-level boss mice. Let's make it 3/3 with Twisted Carmine.
(First two Lunaria hunts: FTC and Fungal Spore. )
ETA 2: I caught enough Twisted Carmines (5/11) to finish upgrading essences and craft my Clockwork Portal Blueprints. I now have the Ultimate Shadow Trap. (This was with 20 pieces of Lunaria overall. One of my chests had some more Herbs in it, so I got 4 more pieces whilst hunting.)
I also have a small stock of Graveblossom for my next run thanks to the FUngal Spore and Camofusion mice I caught.

stwin, mega-conga-rats on your trap!! You're officially the first NarniaWebber to get the Clockwork Portal, though I'm right behind you (hopefully ).
Well, I watched FBF yesterday, but they were being super tight-lipped about anything and everything coming up in the near future. In fact, they just sat around and talked about things like coffee vs tea and favorite local beers and stuff like that.
At any rate, they definitely gave the impression that the birthday event will be starting very soon, not this weekend, but probably Monday.
Attempting to finish up another LG run but I don't think I'm gonna make it cause I've got well over 100 pieces of Duskshade to go, let alone the Sand Crypts and Cursed City.
I tried my luck in the King's Gauntlet for a little while. From what I've read in some guides, cheese freshness effect can be important there, so the extra jade base I just bought is quite good, and stronger than the Dehydration Base (which is fresher). I even bought a low level trap for its Very Fresh effect. The new S.A.M. F.E.D. is Fresh, too.
I have never worried about Staleness effect, nor have I tried to stale cheese, so this is really the first time I look for the Cheese Effect. I see that it will be even more important in the higher tiers. Is it important anywhere else in the game?
But I had to move away, because I've spent so much gold lately that it's more important to farm more gold, and the lowest Gauntlet tiers don't exactly give enough of that, so now I'm in Derr Dunes again. I've finally reached enough points for the Enraged RhinoBot, and I think I notice a difference in catch rate!
I need gold for the upcoming events, and I need gold for the Gorgon trap so I can go the Jungle of Dread. (The Spider trap is better, but I need 12 more million points before I can arm it.) So Derr Dunes it is (and collecting Delicious Stones and Red Pepper Seeds along with the gold).

Currently trying to position myself for a deep mouse run in case of an easter egg further into the iceberg. We also need to have the Stickybomber for the map I'm on. I'm hunting with SB, so I'm staying put when I'm going to be at the computer and then going to the garden to hunt with gouda when I'm gone. That way I don't miss a base change.
So in case you haven't already seen, the MH Fanpage has dropped the first hint in regards to the upcoming birthday party event. There's a shadowy figure in the waters just off the Harbour, and a structure near the Windmill being built that looks remarkably like... a helicopter pad perhaps? Hmmmm...........
I only need to catch 5 more mice in the Sand Crypts before I start trying for King Grub. After I catch him, I'm gonna spend some time in the Warpath working on my gold supplies.
We finished up our map and I'm sitting in the Warpath seeing if I'm going to make any gold for a bit. I'll probably go back and forth between here and the LG as the whims take me until the Birthday Event starts. (Speaking of which, I still have a small stash of Nanny charms from last year. I wonder if those will play into the event at all this year?)
(Also, the shadow on the map looks like it's wearing a crown. Perhaps a Neptune mouse since it's coming from the deep ocean?)

Oh yay, I get to use and understand these numbers now. My first Warpath run current is at: W2: 0-0-0-27-0. I cleared the Mages a LOT faster than I thought I would, but the Sand Calvary mice are proving to be slow work. Sphynx Wrath, I NEEEEEED thee.
We wrapped up our map yesterday and I got some ok goodies out of it... though aside from Ancient charms, nothing I was really hoping for. I'm currently in the Warpath farming gold and about to wrap up Wave 1. I might bounce back to the LG areas for a bit after I finish so I can keep progressing towards the traps there, though I won't buy the CPortal until after the bday event is over.
Also, the shadow on the map looks like it's wearing a crown. Perhaps a Neptune mouse since it's coming from the deep ocean?
The map was updated yesterday and I'm sure it will be updated again today. I don't know how many people are familiar with the old school Legend of Zelda Nintendo game but my husband pointed out last night that the creature coming out of the water looks like Zola.
ETA @ 11:51am CST: Today's monster update makes me think of Power Rangers. And I think all doubt of Ronza's return has been removed. My guess is that we have to defeat the Power Ranger Monster in order for Ronza to land safely. Guess we'll find out tomorrow!
How much gold can I farm before tomorrow?
I did have some more, but I've spent some of it on traps ... (standard traps for game advancement - Horrific Venus, Ancient Spear Gun and Enraged RhinoBot)
I really think those purchases were sensible ones, but I feel not so sure when people on the fora worry whether their 6 or 8 million gold will be enough, and others feeling safe that their 40 million will be fine.
I'm not there at all ...
I had a go at the Gauntlet, but currently I need more gold instead, so I'm farming at Derr Dunes.
But I'm not worried about fast advancement at all. Jungle of Dread is my next goal, and the Forbidden Grove and then back to the Tribal Isles - probably the Seasonal Gardens as well this year. The other areas of that level maybe next year, and Living Gardens after that - who knows? I'm way behind the areas of my rank anyway.
Oh well - back to getting some more Delicious Stones (and the gold from the mice that drop them).

Varna, I don't know how well you're doing right now, but you might make more money in the catacombs than in Derr. (you'll at least make it more consistently).
Ronza's prices are usually very high. . . and they seem to be getting progressively higher and higher. If you want to sell super brie to get more money, now will be the time to do so, because once Ronza comes, the price will plummet.

I'll follow your advice for a while, Digs, and see where it takes me ...
(Happy Birthday, btw )

Mousehunt's birthday party IS power ranger themed. HAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!!
*looks through the traps* Oh my. Gonna need a lot more gold for that Chrome MonstroBot Upgrade Kit. Good thing it's not LE.
And the charms that Ronza has brought with her totally rock the Living Garden.
I'm gonna be super broke at the end of this event.
YOU'RE gonna be super broke; I'M gonna be super broke. I don't think the Chrome MonstroBot upgrade is in my future unless I get REALLY rich really quick. Not going to happen. Definitely buying the two new traps, after that I don't know. Might haunt the Marketplace and console myself with a Sandblasted Metal or something; the prices have just plummeted and it might be a good time to buy one.
I wish I had 16 million right now. . . six million is just wimpy I'd LOVE to upgrade my Rhinobot, but I think that Forgotten trap is a must have for me.
Really surprised that she didn't bring any bases.

Rumor on the street is a certain awesome looking trap costs 4 mil... which means I'm over 3 mil short and I'm stuck in ZT... at least I am this close to finishing this map... ie the last mouse is the next on my list
