I've always wanted to go on a cruise...
Actually I had to laugh that the first mouse I caught in the new event area is the Frosty Snow Mouse. What???
Anyways, I had a stash of Firecracker and Valentine's Charms left over from last year. I have the Firecracker charms armed at the moment, but I may switch to the other here in a bit to go for the Totally Not Bitter Mouse.
Gifts: Please send me charms, I don't need collectibles.
My first cruise, and it is overrun by mice! *sigh*
oh well. This looks like it should be interesting, at least. Working on replenishing my firecracker potions, since I used most of them during the year.
Incidentally, I still have a very easy map open if anyone wants to take nibble out of it.

I just want to post real fast, I love, love, love the HUD. The panoramic view of the world of Gnawnia is so much fun.
I'm happy to say that so far I've gotten both the Harbour and Gnawnian Shoreline souvenirs to drop so I won't have to buy them. Yay! And I've caught both of the new mice.
ETA: Update at 2/12/13, 11:29am CST...
Chugging right along on the cruise. I'm at 380km and the Iceburg is in sight. I added the Digby collectible to my collection. I also have 132 Cruise Bux. I probably ought to go through the shops again to see what I want to purchase, if anything. I know ULC are going to be my fallback item.
*glances around* Wow, where'd everybody go?
Well, I just completed my first full cruise. I got every single one of the LE collectibles (yay!) and I'm trying to decide what to spend my Cruise Bux on.
For the time being I've gone back to the Sand Dunes because I want to save my charms for future tournaments, but I definitely want to do at least one more full cruise before the event ends. I'd like to get the LE trap and Snake Base and then load up on as many ULCs as possible (which probably won't be very many ).
There's lots of talk of tournaments tomorrow night so hopefully we can get some going!
i blew all my potions from last year for 27 nitropop now at 32, which should bring me up to speed hopefully, I'm aiming for the base first, it seems powerful, almost as good as magma, I believe just almost, but the attraction bonus is really enjoyable compared to 0% on dragon jade, btw, i have like 20 petals from shadow, I only have liek 80 cheese left though, hope arcane is nice?
*glances around* Wow, where'd everybody go?
On the cruise, of course!
I love this event. I go slow in each area until I've got the souvenir and caught any new mice there (the Juliyes is the one that's taken the longest so far, I've just started on Tribal Isles), and then I speed up. Next cruise I expect just to speed around all the way - hopefully there'll be time for three or four cruises altogether. And on my second cruise I expect to use the new base most of the time!
Currently I'm trying a Solo Tournament - it's only 4 hours, that's why I wanted to try it. It's a bit weird to be on one's own, though - maybe also because only 6 mice give points, all of them event mice - so after three hunts I haven't got a single point.
Nor have half of the other participants ... (I made a new team, but I don't know whether it will ever be used for anything else.)
I got the Polar Bear mouse for our treasure map - I don't have access to the Iceberg, but when the mice leave their normal abodes at Event time, there's a chance for lower level players to catch them, too ...

Almost finished with my first cruise...i'd have been done by now, but I'm having to stall because I don't have the collectable yet for the last section.
For my next run, my strategy is to farm Nitropop/Snakebite charms in the first four sections, and then speed past the last four sections. I noticed a substantial difference in attractions/catch rates by the time I hit the Iceberg, so I'd like to skip as much of that as I can. Hoping for at least three runs this event.
Checks the Calligraphy, Totally Not Bitter, and Costumed Snake mice of her list I bronzed a few old event mice too

I enjoyed the 4 hr tournament. And coming in number 16 out of 420 teams didn't hurt either
My new team is the Busy Bees of Burroughs
I can now see the Harbour at a distance. I've got 130 km left, and still want to catch the Hot Head mouse and get some mouse to drop me the Zugzwang Souvenir - then I'll rush through everything else (although farming charms and potions is probably a good idea, too).
Very good event!

Indeed - and here's a fast-moving version of it:

Thanks for those links Varna! Very cool.
Well I completed my second trip through the event. Trying to decide if I want to do a third one or not. I guess it'll probably depend on if more people want to do tournaments there or not. I'm also still undecided on what to buy. I bought the base, not sure about the trap or the RP skin. Mostly what I'm interested in are the ULCs. My stash has gone down considerably thanks to the Twisted Carmines.
5:09 pm - Calamity Carl's Cozy Cruise
I went on a hunt with Bee Cissy, but my efforts were fruitless. A Leprechaun Mouse ate a piece of cheese without setting off my trap.
I've never even attracted one before
Wolf and I finished 3rd place in a Couples tourney yesterday . I'm anchored (see what I did there?) in the Zugzwang's Island portion of the cruise, as there seems to be an abundance of point mice there

AROOOOOOO!!!
I finally finished my first run of the cruise, I'll probably do a second run just for the sake of it and the fat that I have enough charms P
After this I'll go back to TG, hope ROnza comes soon, I remember last year we were also complaining about it, but ROnza came a lot sooner last year >:( so sad
EDIT: OH MY gosh, I can't believe it, the Snake Jade Base is actually stronger then Magma Base which was said to be one of the best in the game
I originally thought magma had higher power or something, but I didn't realize Snake Jade is now much better, birth of a new strongest (disregarding special area ones and rift base which has 11 luck of course) P Now I don't have to be sad of not having the Magma, since SJB is stronger then MAGMA and MOLTEN SHRAP
if only it had 500power and 14%powerbonus like spell book >:P

Mega-bummer that you didn't catch it. However, I find it interesting that in the past couple months, you, DiGs, and my husband have all attracted one. Kind of a strange coincidence. (As opposed to say, the Mobster, which I have not see anyone attract in forever...)
Wolf and I finished 3rd place in a Couples tourney yesterday
Congrats you two!!!
OH MY gosh, I can't believe it, the Snake Jade Base is actually stronger then Magma Base which was said to be one of the best in the game
I'm with you wil, I wasn't paying much attention to it either and then I thought "well, I ought to look at the stats" and was stunned to see it was definitely better than the Magma Base. I quickly went and bought it after that. I've been using it to with very great success!
Speaking of which, I took a break from the event for about 24 hours and I finally tested out my Arcanum trap in the Lost City. (I've only had it for a few weeks now ) It worked great! I'm quite pleased with it. I think I counted that I FTCed only three mice or so.
Back at the event again farming potions for another tourny that starts here in a few minutes.
I finished up my second Cruise and spent my Cruise Bux. I also stocked up on Valentine's Charms before leaving, because they rock the socks off of ZT (though regretfully they do not affect Z's Left Sock drops ).
I'm back in the Twisted Garden farming Graveblossom petals. I have 170, with 69 pieces of Duskshade left. I'm not going to get anywhere near 300, but I may reach 200-225. Here's hoping for the higher end of that.
I will probably have enough Essences by the end of all this to craft one trap, which I'm still thinking will be the Clockwork Portal, since the Sand Dunes/Crypts always beat me up the most. I'm hoping to at least catch the first-level boss mice in these areas on this run (King Grub, Essences Guardian, Twisted Carmine). If I have a really good run and catch multiple TC, that will be even better.
