I silvered all of the Derr Mice, except for the 4 "boss" Derr mice.

The last couple days I've been at the King's Gauntlet, trying to silver (or, in some cases, bronze) the mice there, one tier at a time. Right now I'm only on Tier 1. But I've caught over 80 of a lot of mice there already, so it shouldn't take too long. I've already silvered the Wound Up White mouse. :)

Any ideas as to when Ronza might be coming? And how much gold we'll need for when she does? Right now I only have about 4mil. :-s

So, as many of you know, I've recently been introduced to the wonderful world of maps and treasure hunting. ;)) I'm wondering a couple things. First, where do you get maps? Do you pick them up from certain mice? Secondly, I've heard some maps described as easy, some as medium, and some as common. Could someone please explain the levels and types of maps, as well as which maps I'll be able to do based on where I'm at in the game? (Currently I'm an Initiate.)

Thirdly, I'm assuming that since I'm at a lower level, I'm not going to be able to do as many of the maps that you guys are working on—is that right? If so, that's totally fine. However, I really enjoy hunting on maps so if any of you need help with a lower-level map, I can do that. I'd be happy to make use of my newbie status and help you catch some of the easier mice. ;)) (I know I've mentioned this before on FB, but I just wanted to mention it here as well since this thread seems to be the central hub of discussion, at least for me.)

Also, what is Ronza? I was gifted with a Toy Ronza Ship and I wished for Ronza. Not really sure what that means, though. ;))

Thank you for the welcome, wiltheavatar! And yes, if you're referring to my name, calling me Mountie is completely fine. I think just about everyone does. ;))

First, you get a Relic from one of the big, hard-to-catch mice. Once you have a relic, you can attract a Relic Hunter, who drops a map. :)

I actually just opened a map that has only easy, low-level mice on it. I can send you an invite. :)

Also, what is Ronza? I was gifted with a Toy Ronza Ship and I wished for Ronza. Not really sure what that means, though. ;))

Ronza is someone who visits the game about once a year, give or take. She brings rare merchandise you can buy only from her, so people look forward to her visits. She's due back any time, I think.

I'm guessing Ronza won't be here till March or so because the Valentines Event is supposed to start soon. But what do I know, lol. I probably should start on the Gauntlet again so I can hopefully catch at least one Eclipse by Easter.

My guess is that Ronza will come at the end of the Valentines/Chinese New Year event. This is what the devs did last year. I'm hoping to stock up on Valentine's charms this year. . . those things are nice for tower runs.

I'm aiming for 100 Duskshade right now. . . I probably won't get it, and will probably end up moving on with about 70 pieces. . . but it's nice to have goals. ;)) I currently have 27 pieces.

Mega conga rats to FK who got her Grand Arcanum trap today!!!! I'm hoping to get mine sometime before the Valentines Event, but that's probably a pipe dream as that would require 5 Gur essences.

There still hasn't been any mention of Ronza that I've run across. Well, aside from people wondering when she's going to show up again. ;)) She used to be completely random, and then they had her show up at Christmas for two years. Last year she showed up at the end of January. But they've always given people a heads up so they could save money for when she arrived. I guess we shouldn't assume they'll announce her any more than we should assume she'll show up a certain time of the year.

At any rate, I am expecting the Chinese New Year/Valentine's event to start sometime this week. :) It will be a nice break from the Living Garden, that's for sure.

Personal progress: I bid farewell to my ACRONYM trap this morning which had served me well for several years... and I crafted the Grand Arcanum trap. :D Now that I'm down 4.9mil gold, I'm sure they'll announce Ronza shortly. :P ;)) But that's two traps crafted, one more to go, and then I can start thinking about catching those three big baddies. :D
After I use up my last few pieces of Lunaria, I'm going to go hit the Warpath to finish up my current run, recoup a little gold, see if I can get a trap part of some kind to drop, and then go from there.
Some other things on my relatively near future to-do list... max out my SG/ZT amplifier again, and set myself up for another Deep Mouse catch. I want to be ready for Easter which is not terribly far off because who knows what evil eggs they'll add to the hunt this year. :P ;)

I'm at nearly 13.5 mil points now, and hoping to reach 16 mil soon so I can craft the Rhinobot, so I can achieve something in the Derr Dunes. I'm travelling between Tribal Isles and Catacombs, farming gold, points and Pepper Seeds - and have relaxed a little with easy maps for a while, also filling some Gnawnia silhouettes. Only the Crown Collector is missing in his group, but I don't think he'll look in my direction with my poor crown collection.

What's the deal with King's Gauntlet and the Egg Hunts? I see comments about it that I don't really get.

And Mountie, it's been fun hunting on treasure maps with you. Even very hard maps usually have some easy mice too, so it's possible for hunters on different levels to do them together.

Ok, so the Egg Hunt is the MH event that takes place around the time of Easter. It's officially the most popular event in the game according to a recent MH Forum poll (I agree!). It's pretty simple, several of the mice in the game drop custom eggs. They range from really easy (Spud Mouse) to really hard (Black Widow Mouse) or location based (Warpath Egg) and the eggs can be opened to reveal goodies or just kept as collectibles. :)
They add new eggs each year and as one of the hardest ones in the game to get is the Eclipse Egg, we try to prepare. But last year they threw a curve ball in adding a Tier 5 Egg so some of us who were overprepared with our Tier 8 cheese ready to go still had to start over from scratch. :P ;))

I had an awesome grubling stampede today. I used 11 grubling chow charms, and got 7 grubling mice. . . that's amazing luck!

I think I see ...

and as one of the hardest ones in the game to get is the Eclipse Egg, we try to prepare.

You do the Gauntlet so that you get (potions for) Tier 8 cheese on Tier 7, right?
Working your way up tier by tier ...

Ah, and then they say you need a different cheese than Tier 8 ... clever ... :-o

Perhaps I ought to have a go at the Gauntlet. I've never been there. And now that I've got most of the traps that I need (not for all the Tiers, though) ...

I have a couple of questions regarding gifts. What purpose does stale cheese serve? As far as stale cheese goes, I'm a bit confused as it's usually a bad thing when the cheese goes stale in my trap. ;)) Does it help you catch certain mice later on that enjoy stale cheese? In addition to that, I'd love to get the low-down on radioactive sludge as well. ;))

Also, what's the function of the action figures and stuffed tigers I've been receiving? (Thank you to those who've sent them, by the way!) I clicked the buttons such as "Grip" and "Slap", but I'm not exactly sure what they mean. ;)) I'm guessing it just improves my accuracy/luck/etc.?

Also, I just picked up an Ancient Relic! :D/ Riella mentioned that'll attract Relic Hunters, which drop maps, so I'm guessing that's significant. ;)

(The previous line is a National Treasure quote. Couldn't resist. :p )

I'm not sure what level you're at, but once you get to a certain level you can craft different items, and stale cheese is used to make a couple things, one of which is Ancient cheese. I always seem to run low when I do long Grove tourneys, so I'm happy to get all I can via gifts. But you're right, it is annoying to have cheese stale on you, but at least it doesn't go to waste. And at least you can get free stale cheese as a gift of the day, instead of having to purposefully stale it like players used to have to do. ;))

And those toys are just collectables, just for fun. :)

Oh, and sludge is used to craft other things. :) you get it as a gift or by staleing radioactive blue cheese.

Well, I'm sitting in the Twisted Garden trying to gather Graveblossom Petals. I've looted 41 so far, using almost 70 pieces of cheese. Not a terrible conversion, but not as good as I'd like. Here's hoping I get a decent amount so that I can have a shot at the first-level boss mice this go around. I'd like to have at least one Essence Guardian and King Grub, and Twisted Carmine is basically essential to mastering this area.

I'm working on an Elaborate Map with some folks right now. We're making slow but steady progress on it with overnight hunting. It's going to require two runs (or a double run) through ZT, though. ;))

Or a Technic run that is unlucky to lock the Mystic Rooks, lol. I did that last time I was in the Tower. :p Anyway, I want to do a Tower run this weekend so you can count on me for at least the Technic King.

Currently in a 48h Furoma tourney...I have a lot of Rumble now. :D Can't wait to get my Kitty (in a month or so? :D ) so I can use it!
