I've been getting some DHU in the sunken treasure areas I've encountered. I keep getting mice that drop scales, coral and barnacles. I've gotten a lot fewer sand dollars than I wanted.

I need 60 more sand dollars to get my tidal base, and I have 205 oxygen canisters left. I really hope I get what I want/need. I'm at 18,180 meters, so if I could get 7,000 meters more and get into some of those areas FK mentioned, that would be cool. . . quite frankly, I'd rather nab tritus. I've missed him 5 times. I'd love to get some predatory processors.

I've already accrued 625 fishy fromage, so the rest of the supplies I get are going to water jet charms.

I'm putting my Chrome Oasis to good use in Sunken City - I had enough FF to get me 248 O2, and have started on my third dive.

I'm 2.520 m out at the moment, with 127 O2 left. I used EACs through a Sand Dollar area, got between 20 and 30 Sand Dollars, and a heap of "marine loot", as someone on the fora chose to call the three items that make up the FF. I've been through some of the basic areas as well, and currently I have 283 Barnacles, 259 Scales and 159 Corals - and I see a Coral Garden across the Sea Floor where I am now.

I guess the best thing at this stage is to use all the FF I can get (hopefully around 300) from this dive to get O2 for my next dive?

I'm going to need some of that marine loot for the trapsmith, too, but I think it's too early to worry about that yet. I need to be able to make longer dives first, and get out to the distant areas with the best loot.

I'm 20 kilometers deep (which is deeper than any point in the ocean I think ;)) .) I've got a small sunken treasure and a small fish scale area coming up after this 750 meter haunted shipwreck. So I feel comfortable that I'll get my base by the end of this dive ;)

I was wondering if I'd make it out to 25 kilometers, but with only 145 oxygen left, I'd have to be pretty lucky.

I think they intended that number to mean distance rather than depth, but perhaps not. ;)) Hope you get your base DiGs! :D

I've finally been getting some DLU on my run. Got a couple Sunken Treasure areas, another Oxygen Stream (profit of 27 o2), and several Lost Ruins (thank goodness, needed the scales). I have 156 Sand Dollars so I'm almost 1/5 of the way to the trap. Yeah, it's still a long ways off, and I'm starting to run low on scrap metal for EACs, but I'm very happy to make progress. :)

I guess the best thing at this stage is to use all the FF I can get (hopefully around 300) from this dive to get O2 for my next dive?

Yep, that seems to be what you need to do at the beginning. And by the time you have enough sand dollars to buy the base and traps, you'll have plenty of marine loot (love the term ;) ) to cover cheese and everything else.
It's becoming clear to me watching my husband (who is getting loads of love in this area) that the goal is to get so much stuff that you pretty well skip through the first two levels (with the exception of dollar areas and other places you might want to pause at) and go straight for 10k. That'll cost 20 Water Jet Charms. It will also cut down on time farming oxygen in the city as well. I'm not even close to that amount of goodness yet. ;))

You're working your way steadily towards your goals - good to hear :)

I think they intended that number to mean distance rather than depth, but perhaps not. ;))

Yes, that seems to be what the news post is saying. The Wiki is a bit misleading, though, using the term "depth" rather than "distance". Perhaps I should discuss it with them in the forum.

Your ultimate goal is to travel as far along the ocean floor as possible

When we dive out of the Sunken City, we exit the airlock and go straight to the bottom of the sea, not much deeper than the City itself.

Gradually the sea floor dips and becomes steeper, so that more distance also gives more depth. This depth is only indicated in the different levels of zones (the forum guides, but not the Wiki, call them Tiers).

We see this most clearly in the naming of the default zones. For the first 2000 m we're in the Shallow Shoals, then between 2000 and 10,000 m we're in the Sea Floor proper (with coral gardens and sunken shipwrecks), and further out than 10,000 m we're so deep as to name it the Murky Depths.

The distance we're given, though, only relates to how far we travel along the bottom of the sea to get to new areas.

I guess it would be possible to travel all along the Gnawnian continent and even further out. :-o I think patience is the only limit for our travels :p

I'm at 3500 m at the moment, and my 75 O2 are likely to last me for another 1 or 2 thousand m. I'm at a shipwreck now, having far more barnacles than the other loot, and I have another shipwreck ahead of me beyond the next stretch of sea floor :p I'll keep those extra barnacles for a later dive.

20 Water Jet charms - that's 60,000 gold, 60 Sand Dollars, and 1000 of each of the marine loot :-o
I guess it takes a while to reach that!!!

Well, I made it to the end of my 813-oxygen dive. I ended up with one Deep Oxygen Stream that extended my dive a good bit. I bought 3 Water Jet Charms to skip over some Murky Depths and such that I didn't want/need.

I caught my first Tritus! :D I now have all 60 of the new mice for the Sunken City. He even dropped a Predatory Processor!

I'm 70 Sand Dollars away from my Tidal Base, so I'll get it on my next dive. I've got enough materials for quite a haul of Fishy Fromage, so I should be able to have quite a long dive next time, and I'd really like to make it past the 25km mark for the special areas you can get there.

I'm camping out in the LG areas to try finishing it off, as well as my Rift Base.

ETA: The devs added a way for you to check on upcoming dive areas so we all don't have to rely on Chrome's inspect element option. You click the Sub on your HUD and it tells you the next 4 areas. :)

Also, my goal for this LG run is to have 200+ Duskshade going into the Twisted Garden, so I'm farming materials in the Dunes and Lost City. I have lots of Dewthief petals from the Egg Hunt and following, so I'm set for a while.

It depends entirely on how lucky you are with the areas they give you. For example, the reason my husband is so far ahead in drops, even though he doesn't hunt as much, was because his first dive, he got a 750m Pearl Patch and EACed his way through the whole thing. @-) He can afford 22 water jet charms at the moment :-o and, of course, is sitting in another Sunken Treasure area. 8-| ;)) I play twice as much as him, and I can buy 9 water jet charms. :P ;)) So yeah, I'll be at it a lot longer than him.

stwin, congrats on your successful run there. :D Particularly the predatory processor drop. I think I saw somewhere that it has a 5% drop rate? Yeah... I figure it'll be more likely I'll be buying them with Sand Dollars. ;))

Currently at 14,210m with 572 o2 to go. I'm hoping that I have enough to make it to the 25km mark, with a little bit left over to take a look around (should be, I've only used half the o2 I started with). We'll see.
I'd also like to see some Monster Trenches show up. I haven't had any so far this dive.

Love the new function of the sub. I've got an Oxygen Stream ahead for the first time. I'm going to sit through the shipwreck and arm a water jet charm to jump to the 250m o2 stream. It'll be my 3rd water jet. I got a 1200px sea floor, so I bought two to try and skip over some of that. I've bought one more water jet I'm going to hold on to for a bit. Time to farm barnacles, scales, and coral. I've been trying to dive this first bit so I could get down further.

I EAC'd my way through a 250m Pearl Patch a few minutes ago.

Currently:
4250m
857o2
Not much in the way of drops because of the water jet charms I bought.

I figure it'll be more likely I'll be buying them with Sand Dollars.

They are selling on the marketplace as well. Last time I checked they were around 2 million each.

My dive is in the home stretch. I'm down to 98 oxygen and am at a distance of nearly 21,000 meters. I've got a treasure area coming up, which means that I'll get my base tomorrow :D!!!

I really need fish scales at this point. I've got about 100 of them vs. 450 coral and 500 barnacles :-s

Congratulations to me, at exactly 12:01am, I leveled to ARCHDUCHESS!!! Woooooo!!! Stayed up just to see it click over. :D :D :D It's been a long time since I had something to look forward to when I leveled, and now I can potentially snag that last mouse in the Toxic Spill. (Speaking of which, aren't we due for one by now?)

So my next goal is the trap. Stuff I need to get it as of this morning:
567 Sand Dollars
2,805,976 Gold

@DiGs, I did know the processors were on the Marketplace. I assumed they'd be the like SBMs from the Warpath when they first came out: completely unaffordable. Clearly they're not that bad. Thanks for pointing out that I need to keep tabs on the prices there too and get whichever one is best. :)

@Kat and stwin, Yeah, that new sonar sub function is soooo nice. I did notice that you can't see as far ahead on the inspect element as you used to be able to. You used to be able to see five areas total.

You click the Sub on your HUD and it tells you the next 4 areas. :)

It tells you the remaining areas on your HUD. If you have a big stretch of 750m whatever in front of you, you really can only see two things. The inspect element seems to match the sonar, though I have to admit I haven't had a chance to actually test that yet.

ETA: Uh yeah, gold won't be a problem at all thanks to the awesomeness of the new Sell function on the Marketplace. I don't have to wait for my stuff to sell, I can just click on an existing offer. Sold lots of extra orbs and flameshards I have lying around. I won't make as much that way, but I will certainly be able to make enough to get to my trap when I have enough Sand Dollars. Yay!

Also have a Monster Trench coming up. :D

Congratulations on your new title, fantasia! Really worth staying up to see!

I have finished my third dive and am now farming oxygen from 278 FF - with 10 coral, 2 scales and 231 barnacles left from my dive :p
(No, I'm not losing half of those to buying Coral and Scale packs, I'm keeping them for a later dive.)

I also love the new sonar sub function. Perhaps it shows us less than the Inspect elements does - but I guess we can still use that? I never tried, it was just so convenient with the new function :) The devs said on the forum that they meant to include something like that when the area came up, but it would have delayed the release, so they waited.

Gathering points is easy here. I now have enough points for the base, but only 55 Sand Dollars - but I can see that getting enough marine loot will be no problem at all. And I don't have enough gold for it either - just under 3 mil - but there's time to get another 3 mil while I'm working on getting 345 Sand Dollars :p

And a few hours after FK levels, so do I! You may now call me Grand Duke DiGs ;)). In other news, I got my base!!! Starting a tournament tomorrow morning for which I should have just enough oxygen to compete. We'll see how things go. Aiming for the trap now ;)

Congrats, Grand Duke DiGs - on both the title and the base!

I'm still farming oxygen for that same tournament (see you there!), so my issue is whether there will be a good zone in my dive, and how far away it is. I'll dive early and see how far i've got to go.

It's much harder to plan things here, because you cannot plan to go to a particular zone - you have to wait until it turns up, and only luck decides when it turns up.

Congrats all around DiGs! Both on Grand Duke and on the base. :D Maybe you'll get a Tritus before you finish this dive. ;)

We're doing halfway decently on this tournament so far. Better than I expected at least. I'm about out of a Sunken Treasure though so I'll slow down on point gathering once that happens. But my husband is just about to reach one himself so hopefully we'll continue to increase our score. We're almost to the top 50%. :)

Up to 277 Sand Dollars. :D

We also had some Danger zones for this Danger tourney, and just made it to the top 25%! 9 Tournament tokens isn't bad - only 46 more now for me to get the Gold Base :)

298 FF ready for farming oxygen - when I need a break, I'll go to LG and work on my second Icuri Essence (my first was served me on a silver platter by 10 Twisted Carmines fed with 37 pieces of Lunaria cheese :p ).
