Gazer: there was actually a special with Bob Costas last night when he talked to Dan Jansen and they compared it to what Rochette is going through.
The American men won silver in team Nordic Combined today! I'm so happy for them. I watched a special feature on them and they seem like awesome guys and I'm so happy that all their hard work has paid off.
I was also very sorry for Rochette - her mother died just a few days ago, and she broke down at the end of her performance... It was so very sad to see this! I hope time will heal her pain.
Yeah, I didn't even know about that until.. less then an hour ago. Wow. I haven't watched the Olympics since Saturday or so, so I didn't know. Anyway, that's so sad--I can't imagine.
And I feel sorry for the Dutch guy with the lane change thing... Mostly since he's Dutch. J/K. If it was just a mistake though--responding to his coach, that's kind of a bummer. Too bad he didn't take it well.

Congrats to the Canada ladies on their gold medal hockey game!!

Ditto those congrats to the Canadian women's hockey team on their victory.
Both the US and Canada play in semi-finals tomorrow (against Finland and Slovakia respectively). The winners advance to the gold medal game on Saturday.
Congrats to Kim Yu-Na on a spectacular free skate for the gold tonight. Canada's Joannie Rochette took the bronze and Mao Asada took the silver.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Wow!!!!!!!!! That was an amazing ladies' free skate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so excited that Kim Yu-na won gold and has given Korea their 1st figure skating medal!
And congrats to Joannie Rochette who through it all landed on the podium with a bronze.
I was also super excited to see Mirai Nagasu get 4th place. She even beat her own teammate Rachael Flatt.
I'm looking forward to the rest of short track tomorrow! GO KOREA!!!!!!!!:D

The men's hockey is going to be pretty interesting, especially if Canada and the U.S. end up playing against each other. I hope the U.S. wins!
Congrats to Korea for winning silver in the men's 500m and the relay! So exciting! And Canada did well in both as well! Congrats to them!

And Canada and the U.S. are indeed playing. Go Canada! Hopefully this will be a replay of Salt Lake City for us. Double gold in hockey. Yes, that would be nice indeed. And I'll stop now before you all won't be happy with me. But let's just say I will be really cheering for Canada.
I'm happy that Canada got three, or four, more medals today, a couple in speed skating and a silver in curling. Or something like that. I was paying much more attention to the hockey game than the speed skating results. This will be our best Olympics yet medal wise I believe.

What a game! Zach Parise scored with just seconds left to force sudden-death overtime. It's going to be exciting no matter what happens.
And I like watching the closing ceremonies, including the playing of the anthems (of Greece and the current and next host countries), and the 'hand-off' of the Olympic flag to the next country.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Well, at least it went into overtime...I was feeling really bummed until those last 24 seconds. xD
Glad it wasn't a 5-0 snoozefest. The game had all the tension everybody could have hoped for.
What a game! I think Canada deserved the medal, though I wouldn't have argued if the U.S. had won.
Canada seemed to be employing more strategy and having men up by the goal to pass those long shots to. The U.S. seemed to be relying more on the long shots without anyone up by the goal to smack the puck in if the long shot missed.
Good job, Canadian team! *is slightly proud that it's a coach of her state's hockey team that coached the winning team*
Yeah, Canada is certainly doing fantastically in the gold medal department. Man!

Needless to say, my family and I really enjoyed that game. That goal in OT, ah yes! What a beauty! I noticed Crosby had been kind of quiet for the most part, but perhaps he was just waiting for his moment, and stepped in at the crucial time. He was playing well the rest of the game, but I'm used to seeing him have more of an on ice presence- points wise, during the rest of the NHL. However, I think it's good, because that way the rest of the team had a chance to shine as well, and people know that the team wasn't "all about Crosby", even though if it was, Crosby would have quietly deflected any of that and made mention of his team mates.
OT definitely made for a dramatic- and quick- ending, but I don't mind. I would have liked it and enjoyed it more if it hadn't of been so intense, but hey.... I really can't complain at all.

*is happy because the player who scored the game winning goal was the leader of the NHL team that put out the head coach's team in the last playoffs*

Congrats to Team Canada on their hockey victory! Enjoy the party.
Nice start to the closing ceremonies. I liked the tongue-in-cheek raising of that troublesome cauldron leg, and letting Catriona Le May Doan (who was left "holding the bag" when it failed to rise in the opening ceremony) light the flame this time was a great touch of class.
