I had some of the original Star Wars action figures (that I played with)--just kills me now that I got rid of them. And because I liked Han Solo/Harrison Ford, I also had a "blaster."

I agree with the obesity in childhood; we were outside all the time playing! I remember roller skating, my Big Wheel, my swing set, my bike (it was a hand-me down from my brother--a banana seat or something like that). And we did have junk food, too. My mom tells a story of how she would find Oreo halves stuck to the wall behind the curtain or under the rugs in the living room one day she caught me doing it. Don't know why, she thinks it's because she limited it to one cookie in each hand per day and I was "saving" them for later! =))

And, yes, I remember 8 tracks! I had one with "Funkytown" on it--I just loved that song (that could've been early 80's, though)! The only music that I remember, other than the kid stuff was stuff from my brother. He played trumpet and so he loved Chuck Mangioni (sp?). But, he was a teenager, so I also heard Dr. Demento (fish heads, fish heads, rolly polly fish heads, fish heads, fish heads, eat them up, yum). I think that's where that came from.

I had an Atari, but not until the 80's I think. I got a callous on my right thumb from the joystick! ;) I got that after we moved to Arizona, so it was the 80's; it was too hot to go outside and play and there were no kids where we lived anyway.

Love God, love people

Does Shaun Cassidy remind anyone of the Beach Boys? I know he sings some of their songs like Surfin' USA but sometimes I have trouble telling them apart.

"Are you sure you're eighteen?"
"Why? Do I look older?"
