Today is November 1st, that means just 24 days and counting until Thanksgiving. So I’m starting this year’s Thanksgiving thread. Here we will discuss what we like best about Thanksgiving Day, our favorite traditions, and what we like to do on/for Thanksgiving. My favorite tradition is my family’s “thankful for” jar. My Mom start this tradition when I was about 6 years old and we’ve done it every year since. Here’s how it works, you get a large canning jar (ior any container wide enough mouth to stick your hand in), some nuts, M&M’s, candy corn, or other small candy and nuts. We pass the jar around the table and say either "Thank you God for…"or "I’m thankful for…", and then we drop one piece of candy for each 'thankful for'. We usually do this at lunch every day until Thanksgiving and then on Thanksgiving we get to eat the candy and nuts. And I thought we could do it on here, minus the jar and candy.
So, I’m Thankful For…

I am from Russia and most people don't celebrate Thanksgiving (for obvious reasons ), but since my family studies in an American school, we celebrate it. We don't have any traditions. We make a special dinner and say what we are thankful for. Sometimes we play some games.

Every Thanksgiving, me and my cousins, and a few uncles, play football in the nearby field. Then we usually play ping pong in the basement or Mafia, Apples to Apples, and Dictionary.
There's a lot of good things to be thankful for, like my job, school, friends, sports, national parks, coffee , and so on.

"Are you sure you're eighteen?"
"Why? Do I look older?"
I am so thankful for Jesus, period. Without him, I won't be posting in this thread, walking and running with my feet, eating three times a day (or four), being good at school, living a happy life, etc.
"Two sides of the same coin"
The number one thing for which I am thankful is my family. This is the first year that I've lived away from them (in a college dorm) and it has been so incredibly difficult for me. The experience has just showed me how much I love my family.
I'm also very thankful for my Saviour and friend, Jesus Christ. Without whom, I likely wouldn't have had the strength to carry on in this new venture of my life.
