It's not the first of November which is when I normally start the Thanksgiving thread. But since I just got home yesterday after being gone for almost three weeks. This was the soonest I could start the thread.
So, what are your traditions and favorite memories of Thanksgiving Day?
My favorite tradition is my family’s “thankful for” jar. My Mom start this tradition when I was about 6 years old and we’ve done it every year since. Here’s how it works, you get a large canning jar (or any container wide enough mouth to stick your hand in), some nuts, M&M’s, candy corn, or other small candy and nuts. We pass the jar around the table and saying either "Thank you God for…"or "I’m thankful for…", and then we drop one piece of candy for each 'thankful for'. We usually do this at lunch every day until Thanksgiving and then on Thanksgiving we get to eat the candy and nuts. We normally start our "Thankful Fors" on the November first, but since we weren't at home this year, we didn't get start until today.
So, just like last year, what are you thankful for?
I'm thankful to be home!
I'm thankful for my family!
I'm thankful for my grandparents!
I'm thankful for my aunts, uncles, and cousins!
I'm thankful for my friends on NarniaWeb!
I'm thankful that our trip went well and got everything done that we need to do!
I'm thankful for my new CD, The Light Meets The Dark!
I'm thankful I got to watch the whole World Series with my brother! And that the Cardinals won!

Thanksgiving is different this year then it's been any other year. This is the first year where I'm at college during Thanksgiving.
Before, my grandma would always be there. And since my birthday is the 27th, sometimes it would fall on Thanksgiving which was always really cool! In our town, the Coast Guard is stationed. However, some years, there will be a Coast Guard boat in town with all the Coasties who are away from their families. So my family signed up for the "Host a Coastie" program where you bring a Coastie home for Thanksgiving. So we got two ladies the year we did it and it was so much fun! They were so fascinating to talk to, it was great. We also usually play games like Taboo or Apples to Apples. The past couple years, we've also had Thanksgiving with my best friends family.
This year, my sister and I and our boyfriends are going over to the home of some extended family: my dad's cousins. So there's going to be a great big crowd of cousins over there: five second cousins (two of which have wives), two first cousins once removed both of which have wives plus one set of in-laws. So it's going to be a lot of fun! I'm so looking forward to it!
My family doesn't really have any traditions for Thanksgiving, or any holiday for that matter, but that doesn't mean we don't celebrate it.
One of my favorite Thanksgiving memories was from two years ago, because it was also my birthday. All of my family, maybe 50 some people, sang happy birthday to me while I blew out the candles of a store bought cake because my mom had messed up the one that she had tried to bake for me. And of course with two celebrations in the same day, there was a lot of food. What a way to celebrate!
This year I am celebrating Thanksgiving at my house, and it's just going to be my parents, me, and my older brothers, one of whom is coming to visit from college because both sides of my family are doing things with other relatives.
Some things I'm thankful for: a free country, my family, education, books, and many other things, including NarniaWeb of course!
My family has always celebrated Thanksgiving. We don't have many traditions except maybe writing out what we're thankful for. We also don't have the "whole-large-family-getogether" deal, we kind of either visit someone's house or have a little meal together. We've never had the tradition of "we-must-have-a-turkey-and-this-or-that" ... if we get a turkey, we make it and eat it. If we don't, then we just get some vegetables and perhaps chicken or something to celebrate Thanksgiving, to be thankful for what's there, to celebrate the reason for the holiday.
What I'm thankful for: food!, a warm house to live in, books, school, salvation, Narniaweb, family, friends, and knitting.

We don't have a lot of Thanksgiving traditions either, Aslanisthebest. But the few that we do have I love! Another one of our traditions is to always go for a walk has a family on Thanksgiving Day. We usually walk one of our favorite trails. The forecast for Thanksgiving is for the low 60s and sunny, so it should be a very nice day.
I'm thankful for Jesus!
I'm thankful to be a homeschooler!
I'm thankful for Christmas music.
I'm thankful for books.
I'm thankful for my camera.
I'm thankful for my Mp3 player.
I'm thankful for our Bosch, the best mixer ever!
I'm thankful for cast iron pans.
I'm thankful for cold weather.
I'm thankful for chocolate.

*wishes her fellow NarniaWebbers a Happy Thanksgiving Day*
I'm thankful for my family, especially my brother who drove four hours from college to see us.
I'm thankful for the great food we are blessed with, and the stuffing I have helped to prepare.
I'm thankful for our freedom we have.
I'm of course thankful for NarniaWeb and all of the people I know on it. Not to mention that I am thankful for the books and the three movies we have gotten.
I am above all thankful for God for blessing me even if I don't give thanks for everything.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
I'm thankful for:
My family
NarniaWeb
that I have food, shelter, and transportation
All that God has done for me.
I just finished watching commercials, commentary, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I would have much rather been watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, commentary, and commercials. Does it bother anyone else that there is more talking than Parade on the broadcasts?

A Bleesed thanksgiving to all Narnians.
As traditions go. well, Mrs. and her side usually rotate the hosting for the Holidays. So it's her sister's turn to provide the table, and clear room for guests this year. As work scheduals do not permit celebrations today we will be meeting on Saturday.
I shall endevore to have the eel pie ready. Hopefully I will make it to everyone's taste.
Thankfull for
God's Grace
Family
Servicemen, and women around the world
Health, and livelyhood
We don't have too many traditions in my family, nothing special at least. We watch the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade and then we eat a lot of food. One unique tradition we do have is that we watch the movie Miracle on 34th Street, since it starts on Thanksgiving and transitions into Christmas (we are actually watching it as I write this).
I am thankful for Jesus Christ, first and foremost.
My church and all my friends and mentors and the kids
My class
My family
C.S. Lewis and the whole Narnia community (I almost mentioned this when we went around the table saying what we are thankful for, but decided against it)
I'm thankful for my faith.
I'm thankful for my ability to write.
I'm thankful for GIMP.
I'm thankful for my book collection.
I'm thankful for awesome shows like Doctor Who.
I'm thankful that The Hobbit is only a year away.
I'm thankful there's still time for me to have a future someday.
I'm thankful to be alive.
Traditions: Watch the Macy's parade, a little of the dog show that comes after it, crack open nuts ( ), go see a movie in theaters, and come home to a turkey dinner.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
