I didn't think it was as good as Dr. Linus or the Richard episode, but better than Recon. Some interesting twists in it and it's Jin/Sun centric.

No worries there. As long as it's better than 'Recon'. Ha, ha!
Jin/Sun-centric? Very cool. It's about time they got more screen-time.

No Spoilers for those who are watching Season 6

Spoiler
I was doing some reading and someone noticed, that in the Flash-Sideways, Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Sun, have all looked in the mirror. Jack looked in the mirror on the plane. Kate looked in the mirror at the place she got her hand cuffs off. Sawyer looked in the Mirror after he broke it. Sun looked in the mirror.
I noticed that it’s just the candidates so far.

PS. I like your Avatar Bookwyrm! :D I Love that scene! :)

I hope so to, it seemed like they noticed something.
It makes me wonder when we will finally get an idea of whats going on in the Flash-sideways :p

When Locke saw a white light, back in the jungle (Season 1) and thought it beautiful, I believe he saw Smokey, but in the guise of something hopeful (maybe as Helen? or

Spoiler
his more hopeful life in the side-ways reality?)
but from that point on he was different, more knowledgeable, more in touch with the Island etc. Every time the others heard Smokey and saw it, they thought of it as something of darkness, to fear. Locke saw something different.
Spoiler
This indicates to me that Locke was scanned early on by Smokey and chosen to be the MIB's new identity.

If Christian Shephard is another presence on the Island, other than Jacob and the MIB, he could be a referee of sorts, to make sure they play by the rules. Actually I like that idea.

I have the same idea as some others, as to how the series may end,

Spoiler
that What Rises Must Converge (the book by Flannery O'Connor read by Jacob in the episode, The Incident). The two realities will likely bleed into one another. The candidates on the Island may all die and those in the LA X reality may take on their roles and fight back against the MIB and his crew. Juliet may even go out with Sawyer for a coffee.

That's a very good idea, W4J. And it fits with what Jacob and the MiB discussed about things happening over and over again and "progress".

Please don't give me any answers or hints of any kind. This is just me giving my thoughts. Previous stuff that has been given I appreciate, but in this case I want to be kept in the dark until the show decides to give:

Finished 4.4
A bunch of future flashes now. Oceanc 6,
so far I know: who are the others?

1. I doubt they're considering among them, even though which doesn't make full sense yet.

2. and is he considered part of the Oceanic 6? I'm not sure. Can't wait to find out more...

oh and Locke is getting on my last nerve.
in this other I chat in we are mostly comparing him to from Harry Potter :p

Spoiler
I had a feeling that Desmond was going to be the go between, between the two realties! I can’t wait to see where this is going! I Love Desmond, which is why I loved this episode so much! :p I was also so happy to see Faraday again! :) :p

I didn't get to right my . . . I'm hesitant to say 'review', as it's far too much me just going 'oh it's awesome' for that, so . . . thoughts of 'The Package' as my internet broke :( and I didn't get to watch it until recently. I myself preferred 'Recon', but I did enjoy catching all the information being thrown at us.

However, I just watched 'Happily Ever After'. So much better. :D

Spoiler
Desmondo!! When he and Charlie were in the car and he had that, um, flash . . . sideways/back/forward - I don't know any more! I had to restrain myself from jumping up and down. I'm sooooo glad they brought Desmond back - he's brilliant. Of course he's the answer. When Faraday (or should I say Widmore) turned up! He's your Constant! I'm convinced this is not a simple flashsideways any more. Eloise has always known too much about everything. Ugh. I loved the ending too - 815 reunion!! I want them all to remember please. Once again, I didn't even mind that it was mainly a one timeline episode, phew #:-s . . . and calm.

narnia1 - Best. Series. Ending. Ever. That

Spoiler
"We have to go back!"
had me reeling for ages . . . well, a few hours, then I started to watch Series 4 on DVD!

Just watched the Desmond episode.

Spoiler
I've been convinced ever since the Ben episode that this is not an alternate reality at all and I think this episode confirmed it. Eloise and Charles should have died on the Island when Juliet blew the bomb up, unless they moved the Island and were teleported off. That wouldn't make sense though since the Sunken! Island is in the same place as it was in the original timeline.

And it would seem that Eloise, as usual, knows exactly what's going on, but isn't talking. I wonder if this fits in with her time cop function? It was great to see that Daniel is alive in this verse and got to be a musician rather than his mother forcing him into science.

I'm really hoping they don't restore the original reality at the end of the series. I like what's going on in the sideways reality. People are still alive and they're happier and better people. I've got a bad feeling though, since Desmond seems determined to track all the passengers down.

A thought on Jacob:

Spoiler
I guess the biggest problem I have with labeling Jacob good is that essentially he has been bringing people to the Island for who knows how many hundreds of years to suffer and die horribly, just to prove a philosophical point to the MiB. If that isn't warped and evil, I don't know what is.

Just have to say--the latest episode was AMAZING!!! That is all :P

Actually...not. :P What are ya'll's favorite episodes from this season? Mine so far would be the Ben ep, the Sawyer ep, and then last night's episode. :D

I think my favorite episodes so far this season are "Ab Aeterno" (Richard), "Dr Linus," "LA X," and then last night's "Happily Ever After" -

Spoiler
Not because it was full of action or even new revelations, but because the writers kindly addressed - though not necessarily fully answered - a few of the questions I raised a couple pages back:

Eloise's role in the sideways universe: she clearly has a guardian role here too; though it may not be as 'temporal' cop she has access to unusual information. She reminds me a bit of Guinan in the TNG episode "Yesterday's Enterprise" - she knows that reality has been altered by the arrival of the Enterprise-C, but not precisely how.

Great to see Desmond back, and that he seems to hold the key to tying the 2 reality-lines together somehow. Again, it was odd to see old characters tied together in new ways - Desmond as Widmore's right-hand man, drinking his valuable whiskey; Daniel and Penny knowing they're half-siblings; Dan talking about love at first sight regarding a certain redhead (whom he knew in the original timeline but doesn't here); Dan's a musician rather than a physicist (driven there by original timeline Eloise).

A few more shout-outs: "Whatever happened, happened." The expensive whiskey. Desmond saves Charlie from drowning this time, in contrast to the season 3 finale (when watching this episode I wasn't sure if he would be able to save him or not). Dan's journal with physics equations. A runner training in the stadium. "You All Everybody."

Why is island-Widmore so intent on this experiment? He seems to have a lot to lose by 'waking' Desmond to the existence of the alternate reality: there his Penny isn't married to Desmond (which original Widmore has worked toward in earlier seasons) and there's no grandson. Rather, Desmond is single and works for Widmore. Of course, perhaps island-Widmore doesn't know this, and is just trying to find out what's going on.

Lastly, regarding how the series might end with the flash-sideways reality:

Spoiler
I'm not sure everyone is better off in the flash-sideways. Kate's still on the run (though there have been hints she might be innocent); Charlie's alive, but a drug addict; on the island he redeemed himself and formed relationships with Claire and Aaron before dying a hero's death; Desmond is lonely and single and there's no Charlie Hume. But it's true some people are better off. I'm not sure exactly where they're going with this just yet, or how it all will end.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
