I never watched Toy Story. I heard Toy Story 2 was better though.
I grew up watching Toy Story 2, it was a personal favorite even though we only had it in Russian.
I just came back from watching Toy Story 3 in the movie theatre, and I loved it. I really loved the Spanish Buzz Lightyear :p

I saw Toy Story 2 before I saw Toy Story and to tell you the truth I liked it more, though Toy Story was great. My favorite part was when Woody says "we're flying" and Buzz says "this isn't flying, this is landing in style" (or something like that, I can't remember the exact diolog) I absolutly loved Toy Story 3, it was funny and enjoyable. (Even though I only saw it in Russian, I'll see it in English when it comes out on dvd) I also love the part where Buzz starts speaking Spanish and hows he's gushing over Jessie =)) =))
(Toy Story 2 is still my favorite of the three though)

Just saw Toy Story 3! It was amazing. The VDT trailer wasn't in front of it, but the movie completely made up for it. Out of curiosity, did anyone else cry? I wasn't bawling, but *sniff*. I'll probably post a more in-depth review later.

I just got back from watching TS3, and it was worth it, easily. In my opinion, it was better than TS2, and as good as the original Toy Story. It had humor, a good, solid plot, and some nice, bittersweet moments--and a few that were just plain sweet. ;) The ingenuity of these toys never ceases to amaze me; it must come from living with a college kid.

One thing I would warn parents about; if you have little kids the climax may scare them as it's pretty intense.

The humor was, well, humorous. :D The Spanish Buzz, Mr. Potato Head's tortilla/cucumber expedition (...it makes sense in context...), the Barbie/Ken plot line, and the dialogue in general was great. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the comedy.

The emotional quotient on this movie is high; tears start to flow during the last ten minutes and never really stop. It's hard to believe that a few plastic toys could grab our hearts, but they do. When Buzz, Woody, and the gang come on screen, it's an amazing feeling. Because they're more than "Andy's Toys". They're our toys. When the song "You've Got a Friend In Me" starts to play, that's pretty much your cue to grab a Kleenex. We've watched Andy grow up, and for some of us, we grew along with them. And every moment... was worth it. Thanks PIXAR, you've given us another winner.

Post Scriptum: And, uh, the VDT trailer in front of Toy Story 3? EEEEEK! Can't wait for December!!

Okay, now I have time for a more in-depth review.

My first impressions: it was creative, humorous, bittersweet, and fun.

I won't go into the plot (I don't want to spoil it for anyone), but I am amazed that Pixar can continually come up with fantastic storylines that involve toys.

Others have already mentioned the Spanish Buzz, which was hilarious. Barbie acted exactly how a Barbie should act. The daycare was superb--kids really do treat their toys that way. But what was so amazing about this movie is it did what no other Pixar movie has ever done:

Why can't more people make films like this? It's so creative, so clean, so fun. It's not just for kids; it's for everyone.

I just got back from seeing Toy Story 3 in 2D. There was no VDT trailer in front of it, which was a disappointment (and the trailers tat were there were terrible!), but once the movie got underway, it was ok. I thought the plot was rather slow moving for a while until it finally got underway, but it's ok because it really is such a pleasure to spend time with the toys.
I became so fond of Woody by the end. He's just a wonderful character. I love the moments when they interact with people and the people say something sad or nice and they can't move their little plastic faces, but you can imagine what they're thinking and feeling. Somehow it makes you even more connected to them.

My favorite parts were Buzz in "Spanish Mode" and when I leaned over to my sister and said "Bonnie is so cute!" and she said back very astutely, "Yes, and she plays very nicely with her toys."

This exactly. At first, I was just like, nothing's happening! But I didn't really mind that much because it was still really cute and funny.

I love Bonnie! I felt really bad for the clown. He never smiled until the end when she drew a picture of him.
My friend and I kept going "aw" at all of the cute-looking toys when you first see them in the Sunnyside daycare. ;))

Spoiler
I actually thought the purple bear (can't remember his name) was going to become nice after Woody and Buzz saved him. Sigh.

I thought Toy Story 3 was just perfect. To me, it somehow managed to strike the perfect balance between the humor and lightheartedness of a typical children's movie and the emotion and depth of feeling that people of all ages can appreciate.

Toy Story is pretty special to me, since in a way I grew up with Andy. I went to see the midnight showing right after my graduation. Ironically, the graduation didn't make me cry, but the movie did! ;) I'll be interested in seeing how my little sister (significantly younger!) reacts to Toy Story 3.

I have to agree.
1st, the new short Day & Night was really cool, but not in the best of them

The movie itself was spectacular. It pulled up old memories of when the toys first came to us and was still able find new wonders. It was fantastic. I won't say any more so I spoil nothing for any of you

I never saw Toy Story 1. I saw Toy Story 2 when I was about 8 or 9, and just absolutely fell in love with it!! After my two sisters and I saw it, we were always playing our toys were alive too. :D :D I loved the little doggie, and Bo Peep somewhow always reminded me of myself, ha!
I just saw Toy Story 3 with three of my sisters, older brother, and two friends. I didn't like it as much as Toy Story 2--it was missing something. (Too bad they got rid of so many toys.) Can't say exactly what or why...guess it's personal preference.

I'm going to see Toy Story 3 tonight. I have always liked Toy Story 2 better then Toy Story. I'm hoping Toy Story 3 will be even better then the first two.

I have no idea how old I was when I first saw Toy Story. I once had a Buzz Lightyear, I took it everywhere. Then it broke. :((
I really like the little aliens. "The Clawww..."
