The Rocket Summer is the rock solo-project of Bryce Avary. He writes and produces every song on his records, as well as plays every instrument on them. His music is often labeled as power pop, and he has been branded emo, but his music his infused with optimism.
Albums:
Calendar Days
Hello, Good Friend
Do You Feel
Of Men and Angels
Well, I love TRS, I think you know that, I think everyone knows that.
I love his music for his lyrics, and the fact that it always puts a smile on my face, although I'm not always in the mood for upbeat stuff.
Plus, the fact that he does everything himself is so cool.
Of Men and Angels is my favourite, but I love all his albums in different ways. I got Calendar Days awhile back and I can listen to that in a different way from the others, if that makes sense.
If he loves Japan so much, don't you really think he should come more than once..? I mean, last time he came I was only 8, how was I supposed to know about him?

Haha yes, I do, and I love him too 😮
Yes! I really like how meaningful his lyrics are, and even though some of his songs are more melancholy, he's definitely very hopeful .
OMAA is definitely my favorite too, but DYF is very close. HGF isn't as good definitely, but it still has some awesome songs. I've only heard one song off of his Calendar Days album .
Actually, I think he's planning to do an international tour. I hope he comes to Japan so you can see him too!!
I actually might see him again on the 24th- I'm really psyched
I obviously love The Rocket Summer as well.
Do You Feel was the first song I ever heard from him. I actually only heard it because its music video featured several artist cameos, including Matt Thiessen, and one of my friends (who is a huge MT fan) told me to watch it. A few months later I randomly remembered the video and thought hmm, maybe I should actually listen to the song because I think it was cool. And now here I am. haha.
I think musically, Do You Feel might be his best album. Lyrically though, (with the exception of a couple songs) Of Men And Angels wins. He manages to tackle really spiritual and personal topics without coming off as cheesy or cliche.
Hello Good Friend has a lot of great piano work, but I actually like Calendar Days better. Like Aslans Country mentioned, it might be more of a sentimental thing since I listened to it before HGF.
His EP, The Early Years, has a couple good songs but overall I'd say it's only for diehard fans. I believe it consists of recordings from when he was about 16.
I also think Bryce is really cool for reaching out to and connecting with his fans like he does. Even just things like taking the time to reply to tons of tweets and making people's day by calling a random fan, haha.
I still need to get around to listening to The Rocket Summer. Lately there just hasn't been a lot of time! But I'll get around to it eventually.

I'm incredibly excited!
I just came here to post that, but you beat me to it.
Excited. I hope this gets onto more iTunes than the US, because I remember I couldn't get the last one.
And this is so soon, too.

I can give you some recs if you want Queen Susan .
I'm so hoping I can get the new EP at the concert! AH! If I go that is
I love this video, that I just found from Facebook. Not so much about the tour, because although it sounds awesome, I can't go , but I love the fact that he's singing in a field.
Anyway. The tour sounds amazing, and I urge all of you that live in the right place to get there.
