My favorite Owl City song at the moment is "The Christmas Song"... It brings back a lot of memories from when I first listened to it two years ago. Anyone else heard this one?
His version of "In Christ Alone" is another favorite. And of course there are bunches more that I really like.
I haven't heard "Lonely Lullaby" or "How Deep the Father's Love"... I'll have to go check them out now.

I LOVE The Christmas Song (if it's the one I'm thinking of. ) - I discovered it last year, and loved it.

Oh, boy, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to catch up with everyone else, so I guess I'll just address a few topics!
I became an Owl City fan because of MissAravis and GlenstormtheGreat. They both recommended him, so I looked up his music and fell in love!
My favorite album is ATBAB, although I love the others as well. I love, as others have mentioned, the depth he put into ATBAB. I don't know if I think it sounds more mainstream or not, because he's the only artist close to that genre that I listen to.
I tried to go back to read the Hercules Goes Bananas blog again (I read it when it was first posted) because I love it so much, but I can't find it now! Does anyone have a link?

If we're talking about the song simply titled "The Christmas Song", it has been stuck in my head on and off for a few days now. It's such a cute song. Winterlife, you can listen to it on YouTube here.

Right here.
I love almost all of his blog posts, but I do have a few favorites. My favorite serious post is Plant Life. It is so beautifully written and a great reminder that we need to cling to Jesus with everything. My favorite funny post is I'd Rather Be Curling. It presents such an outrageous picture of curling and curling obsessions that it never fails to crack me up. I'm smiling just thinking about it.
Anyone heard his Christmas single, "Peppermint Winter"? I love it. It really puts me in the Christmas mood.

One of my favorites, even though it's not written by Adam, is In Christ Alone. I went through a phase where I had that song on repeat all day everyday for weeks.
Does anyone else think that the guy who plays grown-up King Edmund in LWW looks a bit like Adam Young?
Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am He, I am He who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
- Isaiah 46:4
Hey Y'all! Have any of you read Adam's whole blog!? It takes a while but it is sooo funny and beautiful and amazing all at the same time!!. I love the one about him wanting to be a pirate when he was a kid! That one is one of my favorites! Sorry random but it had to be said!!! I love all of his music. It works well with my thoughts and the way I think and how I dream and imagine. What would you say is one part in one of his songs that speak to you the most?
Mine is-
" If you are dieing to see, I guarantee there are angels around you vicinity"
Well one of them.... from his new album.

I'm wondering if any of you have gotten Owl City: Live from Los Angeles. I pre-ordered it on iTunes and I love it! When I first started watching it, you would have thought I was at the actual concert, that's how excited I was! Adam is adorable in it. <3
Oh, I completely forgot about Live from Los Angeles. When I first found out about it, I thought about putting it on my Christmas list. I'm not sure how I'd feel about a live CD or DVD, considering I don't watch many, but then again, it is Owl City... I get excited watching live videos on YouTube, so chances are, I'd like it.
Speaking of which, Lilygloves, it's a DVD, right? I thought it was but I'm not 100% sure.

The DVD itself doesn't come out until February. There is only an iTunes download available now, which doesn't seem to make much sense. I can't ask for a download for Christmas! So I'm trying to have patience, which is a very hard task, because I keep hearing great things about it. I'm glad your enjoying it, though, Lilygloves. It sounds awesome.

HAHAHA. Yes, yes he does. This made me laugh, I've never noticed that before.
I really love the Owl City Live download. Has anybody ever been to an Owl City concert? Do you have any funny stories from it?
At the last concert I was at, he sang "'Cause she would rather fall in NUTELLA than fall in love, especially with me" during Yacht Club, which I thought was really funny.
The first concert I went to, I accidentally bought tickets for the balcony (it was the pre-sale, so everything cost the same). When the opening acts were almost done, we saw that the floor was full, but not entirely full. So we went to the ticket booth to see if we could upgrade and we were willing to pay. God blessed us and the ticket person gave us second row seats in the center- for FREE!! (I don't feel too bad about not being charged because they seats weren't sold anyway and I would have paid the same amount of money if I had gotten the right seats during the pre-sale.) We were SOOOOOOO excited!!! Best night of my life...
I love Owl City's "Christmas Song"!! Whenever it snows, I just want to walk down the street and sing it. Have you all heard "Peppermint Winter" as well? That song always make me think of my childhood. And I get the feeling that Adam Young draws a lot of his own inspiration from his childhood, which is awesome. I do the same in writing stories, because it really is the most imaginative time of life.

I haven't read his whole blog, but I've read random posts here and there. I read the one where he was in Hawaii, the white nerdy boy in sponge bob swim trunks getting sunburned on the beach. I also read his one on "In Christ Alone", which was really moving and so cool to hear coming from him!!
Have you all heard Adam Young's version of "In Christ Alone"? He recorded some night when he couldn't sleep and he was up past midnight.

Eeeek! I have! I have!! My friend (fellow Owl City fan girl ) and I with my sisters went to one recently. I think Adam in general is just funny. Even when he's not trying. He's so self conscious and a bit awkward, but at the same time he doesn't really care what the audience thinks of him, he just does his own thing.
My favorite performed song was definitely "Deer In The Headlights". He explained beforehand that "being shy, I'm not too good with girls. And since I write music to help me overcome my problems, this is a song about...that problem." And then it was so cute, before the song "Angels" he said, "When I was a little boy, there were these bushes right below my bedroom window and I'd always imagine I saw things moving in them. And for me as a boy, there could only have been hobbits, aliens, or angels there. I'm personally hoping there were angels!" I probably didn't quote him perfectly, but I thought it was so sweet!
Another part of his concert that I loved was when everyone left the stage except for him and he sat down on the keyboard and played "Lonely Lullaby". It was SO beautiful!! **melt**

That was my favorite part. It was so inspiring; I'd LOVE to be able to play like that someday.

Well, at the show in Allentown last month someone threw a knitted moose hat on stage at the beginning of "The Yacht Club" and he put it on and sang, "A caterpillar concert MOOSE" instead of "hall" and the crowd exploded. He kept it on for the rest of the show.
Lilygloves, that is SO COOL about the second row seats! I would have been just as excited. Unfortunately, the show in November that I went to was general admission so I had to wait for quite a few hours in order to get a good spot. But it was worth it.
I loved "Peppermint Winter" I thought it was amusing how many of his songs had to do with food in some way. "Peppermint Winter", "Strawberry Avalanche", "Vanilla Twilight". I would love to go to a concert of his someday.

If you haven't heard or found the song yet, winter, here's the link to it on YouTube.
And if you've never heard his other Christmas song, here it is as well.

Someone did something similar at the concert we went to! During "Vanilla Twilight", a girl got on someone's shoulders and she had these "owl wings". They were very pretty, morel like great chiffon sleeves with feathers sewed on. Anyway, when Adam saw her he pointed and shouted, "I see an angel!" The girl disappeared after that and we were all pretty sure she had fainted, her life now being complete!
