Hmm, you're right. :-

Edit: I thought that agent Sadusky said something in NT2 like "What did he find this time, Atlantis?" So it just surprised me a bit that they're looking for it in NT3.. :D

You're right, I had forgotten him saying that. But then that would be kind of an ironic, funny twist, like he was proving it was possible even though he'd never heard Sadusky say it. Then again, maybe it's not Atlantis and someone was misinformed or picked up info on something that had only been an idea. Why would Disney let something like that circulate? Or do they often do that, release tidbits so fans like us can speculate and at times, freak out. :p

Has anyone ever watched the commentary for NT2 and how they keep cutting out the sound when discussing the possibility of a third one? :- I wonder if they were being serious or not? :-

I've only seen the first 'National Treasure'. I have no interest in American History, but the movie had some good humour and action. It was decent. More like a neutered, overly patriotic 'Indiana Jones' movie than anything else.

I LOVE National treasure!
NT1 is definatly one of my fave movies! I personally like NT1 better than 2 because Ian is SUCH a better bad guy than Mitch. He just didn't seem....bad enough. Ian was willing to kill to get the treasure, and it seemed like Mitch was too, but then what happened at the end... *shrugs* But the sequels of movies are rarely better than the 1st.
My fave character by far is Riley. He is just SOO funny and awesome!
One of the things I didn't like about the first NT was the whole 'Abigail & Ben living together, but not married' thing. :( They HAVE to get married in the 3rd NT!

Here's the probable plotline for National Treasure 3 (which I am highly anticipating):

In it the Gates family goes to Easter Island to hunt for Atlantis and the perfect, clean, power source which was supposed to have powered the legendary sunken city. Their goal is to use it to end global warming, [cinemablend]

Sounds ... interesting!

Sooo..... :p what are your thoughts on this?

I am anticipating NT3 very much as well, but I think the plot line sounds kinda, well...lame. :p where's the history? All this sounds is like mythology. One of the reasons I love NT is the American history. If this is what NT3 is going to be I will be very dissapointed. I have heard some other plotline rumors though. A friend sent me some sites. I'll see if I can find them and post them here.

**EDIT** Here’s the info I promised.
Wikipedia says:
Director Jon Turteltaub said that the filmmaking team will take its time on another National Treasure sequel, but Disney has already registered the domains for NationalTreasure3DVD.com and NationalTreasure4DVD.com.Though the second film ended with the question about page 47 of the President's book of secrets, Turteltaub responded in a press interview that the idea was not set in stone as the basis for National Treasure 3. In an online press release Director Jon Turteltaub set a time table setting 2011 as the slated release date.

I think I've decided that I like Riley better than Abigail, only because of his funny sayings, though.

-narniahannah: I know! I was telling my mom the other day that Ben and Abigail HAVE to get married inthe 3rd movie or else I'll be REALLY dissapointed.

I definitely like Riley better than Abigail. I tend to like guy characters better than girl characters :p .

I really like the National Treasure movies. I was excited when I heard that there was a Special Feature on them, because I like to talk about them with others. Sooo... let's get talking! :)

I personally like NT1 better than 2 because Ian is SUCH a better bad guy than Mitch.

I agree with you. Ian is definitely a better bad guy than Mitch. I find that, especially in the really intense parts of NT2, Mitch just doesn't seem sincere. The character doesn't seem real enough. It's like he's trying too hard, and it just doesn't work. He's just yelling things out like, "I found the treasure", and he seems almost obnoxious. Sean Bean as Ian, on the other hand, totally plays the character well. His acting doesn't seem forced, as Mitch's did. He's so natural at it, and it just works perfectly. (I think part of his appeal has to do with his accent, too. I love it! :) )

One of the things I didn't like about the first NT was the whole 'Abigail & Ben living together, but not married' thing. :( They HAVE to get married in the 3rd NT!

I know what you mean. I think that's about the only thing I dislike about the movies. I love how there's no swearing, and very minimal sexually-related scenes. Most movies nowadays have these things to some extent, but these two movies have practically none! The unmarried, living-together relationship of Ben and Abigail is the only thing. But, that is a big thing, and a thing that unfortunately, a lot of recent movies have in them. :(

I have more to talk about, but I have to go, and this post is already getting on the long side. I'll try to post again soon with my other thoughts.

"Polly knew at once that it was the Cabby's wife, fetched out of our world not by any tiresome magic rings, but quickly, simply and sweetly as a bird flies to its nest."

Nellie of Narnia- Sean Bean DEFINATELY did a better job than Mitch. I think Mitch looks SOOOO goofy when he said, "I found the city of gold, I found it!!! And no one will ever know?!?" (My mom said that Sean Bean also played a good Boramear however-you-spell-it in the Lord of the Rings movies. ;) )

By the way, no one's said anything about Emily in NT2, I thought that she was a good actress. :)

There's a book based on NT2, it's written by Ann Lloyd. (Just in case anybody's interested, it was a good book...............)

I love National Treasure because of all the history. Riley is definitely my favorite. I like the first one best because it had more Revolutionary War history. I did not know a third one was coming, where can I read about it?

PM me if you would like be part of a Lion Party in the state of New York!

Please note that this Special Feature will close this upcoming Tuesday evening, May 11. After it closes, you may direct all National Treasure discussion to the Past Movies Thread. Discussion on the possibility of a National Treasure 3, of course, should be directed to the Future Movies Thread. Thanks!

You could google search it or make one of your own using a picture from the movie. Or get someone to make it for you.
