Has anyone been following the widely popular Legend of the Seeker on TV? Here you can talk about anything Legend of the Seeker! Characters, plots, etc. I personally think that Legend of the Seeker is one of the best TV shows ever!
"Are you sure you're eighteen?"
"Why? Do I look older?"
hey, I watched the first season online last summer and got really in to it! And I've been keeping up with the second season on hulu.
I think it's a great show too. Zed cracks me up a lot .
So far I like the plots better in the first season with Darken Rahl as the main bad guy, but I really like a lot of things about the 2nd season too, especially all the fight scenes. But I'm having a hard time liking Kara as a new 'main' character.
So I stumbled upon this show on Netflix in December, and it's available instantly so I can watch straight of the site rather than rent it.
So far I have only gotten through 5 episodes of Season 1,
I like taking this one slowly, very slowly. It's not one of my favorite shows, yet. But I do find it to be very enjoyable.
Does everyone know that the guy who plays Zedd, Bruce Spence, is Lord Rhoop in VDT?

narnialover4, I didn't know that! I wonder how I missed it, but that makes me glad. I think he's a good actor.
The last few episodes have really increased my enthusiasm for season 2. Cara is becoming a little more human and likeable, but still very much Cara lol.
Hehe, and the epsidode Princess was absolutely hilarious yet very gripping as always. Zedd in a dress = .
Legend of the Seeker is a great show . Zed Rocks (looks great in a dress ).
I was wondering if anyone has read the books the series is based on (Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I haven't yet, and I was wondering how the TV show compares.

I still haven't finished the first season. Castle and Lost and Supernatural got in the way. I liked what I watched though. The fight scenes are very cool and the storyline is pretty good. There's some cheese, but it's nowhere near as bad as you would expect from a primetime fantasy show.
And the "cheese factor" actually drops way off as the series progresses. There are still some humourous moments though.

I haven't either, but ask anyone who has and they'll tell you it's very different! Seriously, every clip of the show on youtube has comments that say 'it's so different from the books!'
So I guess not much is spoiled if I ever read them
Hmmm! Maybe I'll just stick to the show then. I really like it as is.
It's kind of cool that it's a Sam Raimi production. I know he has someone else directing, but it's got his stylistic mark all over it. Reminds me how great Xena was .

I heard rumors that it was being canceled because there wasn't a US distributor.... does anyone know if this is true?
If this Sig is by you please let me know, because I can't remember
"I am going to live forever, or die trying!"
For anyone worried that it's getting canceled, I found this:
"News of the death of Legend of the Seeker was premature. A source close to the show tells TheTorchOnline.com that, contrary to the implication of some previous media reports, the show is definitely not canceled, the studio is interested in bringing it back for a third season, and that they're actively exploring options to make that happen. Legend of the Seeker is produced by ABC Studios, but is syndicated, offered to different media markets on a station-by-station basis. Last week, the Tribune Company, which owns 35% of the affiliates that currently air the show in the U.S., confirmed that their stations would not air a third season of the show. Since Tribune makes up such a large percentage of the total number of affiliates that air Legend of the Seeker, including some major markets, this prompted a flurry of online speculation that the show itself would likely be canceled."
Hope that helps

Oh Thank Goodness . I found a number of blogs and websites with the misinformation on them and I was getting worried.

The series is VERY different from the books. The 1st season was the closest to the books (even then, really, only the first two episodes and then I think the last two episodes were actually from the books, and there was another episode in there where Denna captures Richard and tortured him that was from the books), the 2nd season has nothing in common with the books.
If you are thinking about reading the books, I would actually advise you not to. I would give them an R rating for sexual content. Just saying.
I like the TV show. The author of the books is helping write the scripts and he's told everyone to enjoy the books for what they are and enjoy the TV show for what it is, and that is exactly what I'm doing.
