1 Ghost Stories... I liked all the short stories in ths one, there was also a book about a wolf that I liked, but I forgot the title
2 No
3 I haven't read most if any of the newer ones (or at least I didn't realize it if I did)
4 Yes and they're awesome, my favorite is White Wolf of Icicle Creek. In fact I've won all the ones I own, so I'll probably by more.
I've only played the adventure series: #4 Treasure in the Royal Tower, #7 Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake, #10 The Secret of Shadow Ranch, #11 Curse of Blackmoor Manor, #12 Secret of the Old Clock, #13 Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon, #14 Danger by Design, #15 The Creature of Kapu Cave, #16 The White Wolf of Icicle Creek, #18 The Phantom of Venice, #19 The Haunting of Castle Malloy, and #20 Ransom of the Seven Ships.
5 I'd have to say George, she always keeps serious in tough situations (Although Isis is pretty cool )
I abesolutely love the Video Games, I'm on them almost as much as I'm on NW. Sometimes however they diverge from the books plotwise, I'm not sure what to think about this; Its bad cause it changes the authors story, but its good cause otherwise the games would be spoiled. I really like the puzzles, although some times I have to look up spoilers...*innocent whistle* I also really like what they did with the more recent games, considering the badges/ awards, and the second chance "Good News, Bad News" Thingy. Infact one of my favorite quotes is in the second chance of The Haunting of Castle Malloy, "The Good News: The chemicals you released into the environment weren't toxic to humans. The Bad News: They were toxic to pretty much everything else. When it comes to ecological disasters, you rule, dude!" ... It's hilarious

"Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed." -Richard Adams, Watership Down
I love the Nancy Drew show!!! I've never read the books though.
"Are you sure you're eighteen?"
"Why? Do I look older?"
What ho! I am a Nancy Drew fan (I hesitate to call myself a huge or big fan, simply because I know there are plenty of people who truly deserve that title much more than I), and I've been reading the books since I was about eleven or twelve. I've read and collected the entire classic series (books 1-56), and am now reading and collecting some of the other Nancy Drew. I'm not a huge fan of some of the series in between the originals and the latest- Girl Detective, but they are alright and most of the time enjoyable reads. Oh, and I'm not a fan at all of the Nancy Drew On Campus series. I read two and gave up on them. Personally, I found that there was content in it that just went too far for being a Nancy Drew book.
1: What is your fave ND book?
Oooh- probably The Clue in the Dancing Puppet, or The Mystery at Lilac Inn
2: Have you seen the ND '80s TV show?
I have seen only one episode, I believe, and it was some time ago. I think I liked it.
3: Do you prefer the classic ND books or the newer?
Classic all the way.
4: Do you play the ND computer games?
I own and have played some of the games, but I'm not really good at them and generally give up after a while. They have been fun to play, but I don't have much time for gaming anymore so that's why I haven't really played to win.
5: Who is your fave character other than Nancy?
Bess.
"The Good News: The chemicals you released into the environment weren't toxic to humans. The Bad News: They were toxic to pretty much everything else. When it comes to ecological disasters, you rule, dude!"
Haha! That's funny!
Dear days of old, with the faces in the firelight,
Kind folks of old, you come again no more.

looks like I forgot to answer my own questions.
1: what is your fave ND book?
hm. I like the captive witness. the secrect of shadow ranch is also a fave.
2: have you seen the ND '80s TV show?
yes, and I LOVE it!
3: do you prefer the classic ND books or the newer?
classic. Nancy doesn't seem as smart in the new ones
4: do you play the ND computor games?
yes I love those as well. I have played: Treasure in the Royal Tower, Secret of Shadow Ranch, the Curse of Blackmoor Manor, the Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon, Danger by Design, the Creature of Kapu Cave, White Wolf of Icicle Creek, the Phantom of Venice, and the Haunting of Castle Malloy.
5: who is your fave character other than Nancy?
Ned. I love his loyalty to Nancy even thought they can never have a date without being interupted.

Yay! Nancy Drew! I am always promoting the books to girls at my library.
1: what is your fave ND book? It was one involving a beauty pageant. I am blanking out on the title right now, but I must have read it a million times back in secondary school.
2: have you seen the ND '80s TV show? No, I have not.
3: do you prefer the classic ND books or the newer? The newer ones, since those are the ones I am familiar with.
4: do you play the ND computor games? Nay
5: who is your fave character other than Nancy? Probably George, since she's tomboyish.
When the Nancy Drew movie was about to debut, I thought a girl at an anime convention was dressed up as Nancy Drew from the movie. I squealed "Nancy Drew!" and ran to glomp her. But she was confused as to whom did I think she was dressed as. Turns out she was dressed up as Elysia Hughes from Fullmetal Alchemist- but for real, her outfit was just like one Nancy Drew wore in the movie.
I have to admit I love Nancy Drew.
I'll go ahead and answer the questions then ramble at the end of my post:
1: what is your fave ND book?
I really don't have one... I used to read these all the time... I discovered them after I found The Hardy Boys... I'm not sure which has been around the longest... But I enjoy Nancy Drew a lot more then the Hardy Boys anyways. Also I don't really take much time to read now... I'm mostly online and playing RuneScape in my spare time.
2: have you seen the ND '80s TV show?
Nope, I had no clue there was a such thing... I shall have to look it up online sometime.
3: do you prefer the classic ND books or the newer?
I have only read the Classic... So I obviously like them better.
4: do you play the ND computer games?
I do... I have not for a while but I really enjoy/enjoyed them. Again I don't really have a favorite... There all very well done. But besides the very first Nancy Drew computer game... I have to say I enjoy the earlier ones the best... Or at least I like the old menu/music better.
Also to be perfectly honest sometimes the Nancy Drew games while I'm playing can scare myself... Like... For instance the first time I played "Ghost dogs of Moon Lake"
I have to also say its been years since I first played that game... So nobody make fun of me please. You can giggle or whatever but yeah.
5: who is your fave character other than Nancy?
I don't really have one... All of the characters are pretty cool in the books... In the computer games Bess and George kind of freak me out...
But in the books I like them.
Funny in Christmas 08 I asked for Nancy Drew computer games for Christmas.
I am a member on Her interactive... But I don't get on much... Basically I joined to use some spoilers... (Yes, Sad to admit it... I have used them some).
I think that's all I have to say about Nancy Drew for the moment... Oh wait!
The movie: I really really liked this movie... In fact I bought it for my little sister so I could.... I mean so she could watch it again.
I thought they did a pretty good job with it... Also I wouldn't mind seeing another movie be made.
1: what is your fave ND book?
I'm not sure. It has been a long time since I've read 1-56. I really like Secrets of the Nile which is a Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Super Mystery.
2: have you seen the ND '80s TV show?
Do you mean the one with Pamela Sue Martin as Nancy Drew?
3: do you prefer the classic ND books or the newer?
Classics!
4: do you play the ND computer games?
I have played two of them but I have only won one of them. I have a third one I haven't played yet. I should get back into that ...
5: who is your fave character other than Nancy?
I'll have to think about this.
I discovered them after I found The Hardy Boys... I'm not sure which has been around the longest...
For me it was the other way around. I discovered the Hardy Boys after Nancy Drew. The Hardy Boys books began in 1927 and Nancy Drew began in 1930. While I'm on the topic, I might as go into a little history. The first 34 Nancy Drew books were released in two versions. They were revised starting in 1959. The original versions were 25 chapters instead of 20 (I'm pretty sure this goes for all of them but I only know for sure about the first 20 or so). A few years ago Applewood books did reprints of the first editions of the first 21.
So nobody make fun of me please.
I wouldn't even think of it. I could see myself doing the same thing.
Oh, and I'm not a fan at all of the Nancy Drew On Campus series. I read two and gave up on them. Personally, I found that there was content in it that just went too far for being a Nancy Drew book.
I agree! I only made it though one and that was enough.
I could go on for hours on this subject. (Well, at least an hour). For now, I'll stop. I mean after I talk a little bit about my Nancy Drew Hardy Boys collection. I have around 160 Nancy Drew and / or Hardy Boys books. I have 20 of the Applewood editions. I missed getting The Haunted Bridge. Some day I hope to get an unrevised edition of that book so I am not missing one in the middle. I have 1-56 in the yellow cover ones.

Patterwig's Pal: I hope you're able to find an unrevised edition of The Haunted Bridge, I know there are some versions of that one around in the yellow hard back version- I bought one last year or so, or were you looking for one in the Applewood version? (Not that I sadly, have it, but I understand the feeling of looking for one in a particular version/cover/etc to make sure everything is in a set and etc if that is what you're feeling. When I have the choice, I'm particular about that too, because I really like how it looks when everything is in a set and all matching).
Bart: I understand exactly what you mean about playing the Nancy Drew games and scaring yourself, my siblings and I did that quite a bit too when we used to play. Even if we were all together playing.
Dear days of old, with the faces in the firelight,

Also to be perfectly honest sometimes the Nancy Drew games while I'm playing can scare myself... Like... For instance the first time I played "Ghost dogs of Moon Lake"
SpoilerWhen the dogs came up banging on the door and making stuff on the wall shake... And when Nancy Drew opened up the Curtain... I was upset with Nancy Drew at first for opening the curtain... I didn't want to see what was out there. Since then when I re-played it I obviously handled it alright
Same thing happened to me during that part, so no I won't laugh. Actually in the Phantom of Venice it also creeped me out when,
I also flinch every time there is an explosion, even if I've played it before, so don't feel bad Bart.

Wolfloversk: the book about the wolf you were talking about might either be 'mystery of the mother wolf' or 'werewolf in a winter wonderland' I like the mystery of the mother wolf.
I like the white wolf of icicle creek too! And I love Isis. but I HATE fox and geese!!! and Tino Balducci. *shivers at his name*
I love the good news/ bad news things as well. Though I got a little mad at them when I kept blowing myself up in Haunting of Castle Malloy.
I have played almost all the ones I own. I own ransom of the 7 ships and warnings at waverly acadamey, but I can't play them because my computer disk drive is busted!
ForeverFan: I've never read the Nancy Drew on campus and personally I don't want to because I heard that Nan actually broke up with Ned!!!
I liked The Mystery at Lilac Inn too. I think it was one of the first I read.
AravisNarnia: I also promote the ND books as well. I have never seen the ND movie. Is it good?
Bartholmew: I'm the opposite. I started Hardy Boys AFTER I started ND. I like the ND books a little better then Hardy Boys too.
You really should take time to look up the ND TV show. It's a little bit cheesy(it is from the '80s) and the characters were changed a lot. but it's still fun to watch.
I woudn't make fun of you. I jump all the time when I play the games. I haven't played Ghost dogs of moon lake yet so I didn't read the spoiler.
I use the spoilers all the time so don't feel bad. I'm on the HER forum, too. I'm Celtic13. who are you? after I found the Narnia web forum I haven't been on much.
Patterwig's Pal: I'll have to check out the secrects of the nile. I like almost all the ND and Hardy boys mysteries. except how in the newer ones Frank has a crush on Nancy.
Yep, I mean the show with Pamela Sue Martin.
Thanks everyone who has posted!!

I beleive it was "werewolf in a winter wonderland" (the one with the carnaval) I don't think I've read the other one yet.
I actually liked fox and geese although it was impossible to win.
Tino Balducci... Did not like that guy. The funny part is I played White Wolf of Icicle Creek before Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon and I still avoided him. By the way was
Now I'm reconsidering joining the forums on HerInteractive, I have visited them to use the spoilers (sadly) that others have posted, but I'm horrible at writing reviews and I always found the spoilers I needed so I never joined. If I do though it may be easier to get hints without spoilers. Does it cost anything to join?
Does your computer still work?/ Did you install the games? cause most of mine will work even if I don't put the disc in. The only one that doesn't is Curse of Blackmoor Manor. Also you can download them off the site, but then you'd have to pay for them again.

I do not play them much now... Because I do not have a good computer to use the games with... The only computer I have that works with them lags like crazy and the screen is now yellow for some reason... I plan on saving up for a computer of my own sometime... So I might start playing ND again.
narniahannah:I am pretty sure I am "Bartholmew" On there as well... I have not posted much and have not logged into the forum for who knows how long... I'll go check to make sure.
When I installed the Nancy Drew Games... I almost always had to use the CD to make it work.
Yep, I mean the show with Pamela Sue Martin.
That is from the late 70s (which is why I was confused). It ran for three seasons starting in Jan 1977 and ending Jan 1979. The Hardy Boys / Nancy Drew Mysteries (its official name) is my all time favorite TV show. I first watched them in 7th or 8th grade. I had read Nancy Drew books at this time but hadn't read the Hardy Boys books. It really made me want to read the books. You're right that the characters were changed, but it still is very good. I love they why Frank and Joe banter with each other and Nancy has some great lines. I have the first two seasons on DVD, and I really want the third season to come out (even though they dropped Nancy ). I watched some of the episodes in the third season but TV Land (they channel the were on) didn't show all of them. In fact, they didn't show the episodes in order and skipped around so they didn't show all of the episodes in any of the seasons. It was nice to get the DVDs and be able to see shows I hadn't seen. My favorite episode (with Nancy only) is a Haunting We Will Go. My favorite with Nancy, Frank, and Joe is The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew meet Dracula Parts 1 and 2. Anyone else have favorites?

I'm not too picky about the version. The Applewood ones are nice because they smell new, but as long as it is original I'm fine with it. (I'd perfer one with the same picture as the original though)There are some copies of the book listed on Ebay, but I've never ordered from Ebay so I'm nervous about ordering from there. Some of the copies have the same cover as the Applewood ones and aren't too expensive.

I grew up on Nancy Drew and I think the really amazing thing about her is that her books never get old. They're basically the exact same story line over and over and over again, but somehow the charming nature keeps you interested, even after you out grow them. I'm 19 and if I need a mindless, but fun read it's Nancy to the rescue!!
One thing that always annoyed me about the books is that Nancy and Ned's relationship never developed. I'm a hopeless romantic and my favorite books were the one's were Ned played a rather large part, he usually really boring and I thought Nancy was sort of mean to him most of the time, she seems to ignored him when she's on cases.
I once wrote a mock advice column called Unlucky in Love Lads From Literature and used Ned as one of my letter writers. It was a lot of fun to look at Nancy and his relationship from his point of view rather than hers. It's really short so if anybody is interested I could post it, and you could tell me if you think I accurately portrayed Ned or not.
If this Sig is by you please let me know, because I can't remember
