That's right, De_De. In fact she ended up doing something she claimed she was sure she'd never do because she loved comfort too much. I thought that was the neatest twist.

I've read all the books except The Blythes are Quoted, but it's been a few years. All I remember for sure is that my favorite is Anne of Windy Poplars. I've been meaning to read them again, but there's always something new to read.
I remember a scene where Anne
My family has seen all three movies with Megan Follows; only the first is really any good, I thought.

The scene with Anne falling is from Anne of Green Gables, I think

No, I'm pretty sure it's from Anne of Avonlea because I think she and Diana are out canvassing for money for their improvement society. Or it could *possibly* be Anne of the Island and they were looking at a blue willow plate through someone's window that Anne wanted to buy to replace the one of Aunt Josephine's that she had broken at a charity event?

I'm inclined to think it's when Anne and Diana are out canvassing for money as well.
But it makes more sense for Anne to have climbed on the roof to get a glimpse of a plate through a window...

I read it back in the 8th grade.
I remember struggling whether to put the peddler that sold the hair dye to Anne as a major character or not. He did not show up for long, but he caused a major event indirectly.
I've never read Anne of Green Gables, but I know the story like the back of my hand. When I was eleven I played Moody Spurgeon MacPherson in a musical play version (I had thirteen lines! So exciting! big step up from the 'dead body' part I had in Tom Sawyer... ). I've seen the movie and its sequels several times. And, last August I was vacationing in Canada and I actually spent nearly a week on Prince Edward Island, where I was actually told by a local "Anne is like our Mickey Mouse around here", and it was true. Everything was Anne of Green Gables themed. They even have an Avonlea Village attraction, filled with actors who reenact scenes from the book in a small village made to look like Avonlea. Pretty nifty. (My sisters enjoyed it more than I did, but even I'll admit it was well done.) Also while on PI I got to see the off-broadway play Anne of Green Gables: The Musical (not the same one I played in so long ago... lol) and another play called Anne and Gilbert.
Besides all the above mentioned exposures to Anne of Green Gables, my sister read the entire series, and anything she reads I end up hearing about in livid detail.

I think your right wisewoman, it was from Anne of Avonle
I have a question to the mods: From what I understand Special Features last two weeks. This thread was been around for a lot longer than that. Is that normal?

Actually, we're rather flexible in this, De_De, especially if the SF is still active—which this one has been—we like to leave it open longer.

I have read all the books. Anne is my favorite because sometimes I can not get my head out of the clouds or my nose out of a book. Anne of Green Gables is my favorite. I was in the play and played Mrs. Lynde so much fun. Good memories.
PM me if you would like be part of a Lion Party in the state of New York!
