I know how you feel
Anne of Ingleside was written after Rilla of Inglside, if I remember correctly, so that is why it hints that
wisewoman wrote: I've seen the 1985 miniseries starring Megan Follows countless times. Well, the first two anyways. The third appears to have been made in a temporary fit of insanity; I couldn't believe what they did to the characters!
I know, it was a great shame that they changed everything like that. In a way the story was interesting, but they shouldn't have made it about Anne. I was so dissapointed with that movie

What made it worse was that we put in the second tape first by accident, so it made even less sense
I think I read that Montgomery didn't want to keep writing Anne books but they were so popular that her publisher pushed her to do them. I'm so glad she did!

I'm also glad she did! Although some of them were a bit boring for me.

oh my I can imagine how confusing that was. My older sister watched the movie before us so we were morally prepared that it was nothing like the books

Really, that's interesting, I didn't know that, I glad she did too, some of them weren't exactly to my liking, but I love most of them.
One thing I could never understand about Anne, was why she didn't like her red hair I LOVE redheads and often wish that I was one. Our neighbor, who is also a big fan of the Anne books, was also recently complaining that she had red hair, freckles and green eyes and I said, "But that is so cool, you look just like Anne', after that she hasn't complained about being a red head anymore (at least to me )

I think I wanted to be a redhead because Anne hated her haircolor so much
I'm curious about the Anne books that you guys didn't care for. What exactly didn't you like? I'm not going to try to argue you out of your meh-ness and I certainly have a few that I love a little less than others, but I can generally find something wonderful in each one

I didn't really like Anne of Inglside, it seemed a bit boring to me, the kids seemed to be constantly getting into some weird escapades that I didn't really like. I can't exactly say why I don't like it, I just don't . And in Anne of Avonlea I didn't really like Davy so much, I thought that he went a bit ove board on the 'being bad' part. And I didn't really like the way Anne was handling it, so that kinda spoiled Anne of Avonlea for me, I think those are the only books I didn't exactly care for. Anne of Inglside is my least favorite of all of them though

I was wondering if we'd pick the same book! Here is my review of Anne of Ingleside from when I was rereading the series last November. Almost exactly a year ago, wow. Anyways, I found it fascinating that this was the last one she wrote of the series (in 1939) and that her own life wasn't very happy at the time
Aww, you don't like Davy? He's a scapegrace, definitely, but I always had Anne's fondness for the little sinner

I love Anne Of Green Gables! I have read the book and Anne Of Avonlea and I have grown up watching the movie!

I liked the review, I agreed with just about everything
I also like the part in the end where Anne thinks that Gilbert doesn't care for her anymore and is jealous of Christina Stuart, it is my favorite part of the book, maybe because is focuses primarly on Anne and not her kids
I don't really like Davy, like I said, I think he was just a bit too bad, as Dora was just too good. I know it was supposed to be like that, and I always ended up liking Dora more, not because she was so good, but because it was obvious that Marilla and Anne like Davy more and I felt sorry for Dora, and that she was so perfect. I don't know why . I still think that the two of them are a little extreme, but that's just my personal opinion

I didn't really like Anne's House of Dreams. It was boring for me. There were some interesting parts, but the story just went on and on....

I thought Anne's House of Dreams was boring too when I first read it De_De, but then I reread it twice and now I really like it

Anne's House of Dreams was the second book I read after Anne of Green Gables...and I didn't like it at all...because nothing was happening!!...(at least, in my mind, ha!) I also didn't like Anne of Ingleside because all the kids were behaving really weird and getting into all sorts of odd scrapes. I come from a family of six kids, so knowing what it's like to have a big family, I thought that portrayal a leeetle unrealistic...but that's just me.
My favorite books are Anne of Green Gables and Rilla of Ingleside. I loved Rilla of Ingleside because of everything that was happening and how Rilla grew up and matured.

6. Who is you favorite female character in the books? I confess a certain fondness for the girl who couldn't decide between Alec and Alonzo. Priscillia? *obviously needs a reread*
Her name is Philippa Gorden. She is such a fun character
Oh yes! Philippa is HILARIOUS. "I wish I could choose between them the same way I picked my hat this morning: put them next to each other and jab with a hatpin."
I love the parts where all the ladies gossip. It's so funny! And all the scandals and goofy stuff that's always going on. It's quite hilarious. Like when they're telling how so-and-so's cow swallowed a whole pail of nails and survived. It's so funny!
Oh, yes! I loved Philippa too!!!! Yes, now I remember her!!

Philippa was a great character. She made Anne of the Island fun! You never knew what expect from her. The funny thing is that
