...I am going to start writing tomorrow. Terrible of me, I know, but homework calls. Has anyone else started writing yet? Is formatting giving you trouble?
I love Beauty and the Beast, wild rose! Don't worry about the title, I haven't come up with a very original name for mine either.
thanks daughter of the King, I'm slowly getting along, already at 10 pages, though finding time to write is a little difficult, I usually do it early in the morning and late at night
Formating is a real tricky thing for me, but I think I'm getting the hang of it. Right now I am using Microsoft Word, though I was thinking of trying celtix, if I have the time to figure out how it works
oh if anyone should be interested, I started an online diary for Screnzy should someone want to take a look here's a link http://crazyaprilscrenzy.blogspot.com/

I've thought about doing NaNoWriMo and/or ScriptFrenzy, but I'm not sure I like the idea. It seems to me the emphasis is more on quantity than quality. I do see that this is good for some people, though, because I've noticed that a lot of people never get anything finished because they're too focused on getting it perfect the first time. Is this rude of me to think this? Idk.
Anyways, while I'm not doing ScriptFrenzy itself, I am in the middle of writing the second draft of my sci fi screenplay, so I'm doing something similar. And I admire all of you who are doing it, because I could never have the discipline to write that much every day like that.

If it is, then I'm rude too. That's the reason I didn't do NaNo the first year I heard of it. And having written 105 books, I don't really fit into the "never finishing" category.
I tried it the second year, and it was fun. But like you said, it was quantity, not quality. And I didn't care for that.
I'd love to do it just for the "fun factor" if I'm not busy, and feel like writing a project that isn't that important to me. But if I'm busy (like this year) or am too busy working on books for which I want a quality draft the first time around, then it gets passed over. I'm not doing Script Frenzy this year. Perhaps next year. Not sure about NaNo. I'll have to see what I'm doing when the time comes.

I woke up sick on the first and didn't start until like the fourth...or maybe the sixth (once I was well, I just wasn't motivated ) but then I caught up...and I'm trying/was trying for 150 pages (2 1/2 hour movie script) but we'll see, I'm rather behind on that, about on track for the 100. Working wiht a partner rocks, BTW. When one of you runs out of ideas, the other one is there to give ya more.

You suck a lollipop, and you sing a song. Get it right, Jo!
I'm at 70 pages right now, I hope to make at least 10 more today and then I'll have finally more or less caught up It's starting to come along rather lame right now, but not to worry, I'll edit it as soon as April is finished
Riella and Fire Fairy, lol you're not rude, just different people are well...different (how lame did that sound)
I for one, as much as I love to write, am not very good at the 'stick to it till it is done' part and usually that is because I get stuck at one chapter for months, trying to get it come out just perfect. It's easier for me when I have a goal to get it done in a certain time period and work work work and then edit later. That's why I love NaNo and Screnzy. It helps me get done what I probably wouldn't have done. And also, I love a challenge, I like to challenge myself to do something. But of course you are right that it is all about quantity and not quality. The main thing is to get it out, not worry about how well it sounds or how nicely it is written. But then, you can always edit, that is the nice part about it
But hey, everyone is entitiled to their own opinion

I guess Screnzy and NaNo would be good to help me get my first draft done. I've found I do better on the rewrite anyways. The only thing about NaNo is that it's in November, which is when I'm in school. Maybe next year, after I graduate. Idk. I'd have to think about it.

April, and with it, Script Frenzy Twenty-Twelve, has passed into the annals of history.
I wrote exactly zero words of screenplay - but had decided rather early in the month that I wouldn't attempt it this year due to various reasons. I did, however, enjoy writing other stuff.
How did our participants do this year? Any winners out there? Anyone who didn't win but still made progress? Let us know!
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
I didn't win but my internet was out for the last three days of April and even if I had made 100 pages I wouldn't have been able to validate anyway , I made 70 pages and considering it was a crazy month for me with hardly any free time I am quite pleased with the progress I did make. I still plan to finish my stage play, probably in summer when I am done with my studies and exams

Conga-rats to all our Screnzy participants and winners!
You may have seen the announcement that OLL will no longer be sponsoring Screnzy as a separate event due to financial constraints - but there will be a Screnzy writing section on the NaNo forums for those still wishing to write scripts.
'Tis time to say goodbye to this thread; let us know your writing experiences over on the Writers World thread here in the Spare Oom...and look for a new NaNo thread later this year!
