I am writing about these six kids that find out this mad scientist set a time bomb 200 years ago to blow up their country- and they have 7 weeks before it goes off. They have to go on a journey to get this material, which is the only way to stop the bomb. Hence the movie is called 7 Weeks'' Journey . I put some info in Writer's World...

Btw, for anyone here who has never done Screnzy before, you might be interested in knowing that Screnzy allows book adaptations (i.e. not original material). So, for all of you who have been moaning and groaning that YOU could have made the VDT movie better...here's your chance to prove it.
If you chose to adapt a Narnia novel for Screnzy, you can't post excerpts of your work here. The end.
oohhh... really Gymfan?
Although... VDT isn't the one I have in mind
Edit...
As you can see I've decided to sign up. If anyone wants my username on there please pm me

I already know what I'm doing. I was wanting to write it as a book but I find script writing much easier.
Long Live King Caspian & Queen Liliandil Forever!
Jill+Tirian! Let there be Jilrian!
I've been perusing some of the "Writer's Resouces" for script writing (on the tab of that name on the Screnzy site). It's a good thing there are forms to be downloaded; the format for scripting seems to be more rigid than for plain old story writing.
What about ideas, everyone? What are you thinking to write ABOUT?
Thanks for the suggestion about reading scripts online! It's given me some ideas about how to proceed.
If I do tackle this, I'm likely to try adapting either of my last 2 NaNo stories (or possibly combining portions of both). They are fan-fiction stories of the 1990s animated series Gargoyles - sort of a "Next Generation" with original characters descended from series canon ones.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Glad to see you decided to do this, wolfloversk! And I'm glad you're in it Damsel!
Let the frenzy begin!

Well I was thinking of doing an adaptation of SC, but since I'm at it, and since I probably won't finish anyway, I think I'm gonna combine all 7 into one giant script.... I have one question though....
Would I be allowed to discuss some of the details here with the fanfic rule? (Not quotes, but basic plot, plot order, etc.)
My backup plan is to make a scripted version of Cotton~Tales (by me ), except I want to finish the book first

Scenzy sounds like fun! But alas, I'm more of a book-writing type of person. So I'm going to sit this one out. But I thought I'd just pop by and wish everyone attempting it a huge GOOD LUCK!!! How does one wish scriptwriters luck, exactly? Break a leg? Naw, that's theater. Break your keyboard? No, please don't. Um, break your eyesight? Break your fingers? Break into your savings and buy yourselves a pound of chocolate and an extra-large latte?

I signed up for it but still haven't decided whether or not I'm going to do it.
I kinda want to do this but I've never really written anything outside of school work idk, maybe..... if I do I might try to do an adaptation of HHB (I do have another idea for a script but I don't think there's enough time to develop and try to write it...).... well i have 11 days to decide...

An adaptation of HHB? sounds great! Get to it before the scriptwriters mess it up!
I finally (very, very quickly) ran the movie through my head (really just thought out 'okay, I need the starting sequence, I need this to happen sometime' and I also tried to think of exciting moments and raising the stakes.) Actually, I had to lower the stakes at the beginning so that I could 'raise' them later...
I am glad that I have 11 days left to work on this, though! I always seem to know how to start and how to finish a story but not how to get from A to B...

Bah! I still can't decide whether or not I actually have time to even attempt writing 100 pages. If I do attempt Screnzy, I'm pretty sure I'm either going to adapt Rilla of Ingleside by L.M. Mongomery (love that book!), or write something the plot machine turned up the other day when I was playing with it: Deep in the sewers of Paris a god of the underworld invents the cure for a broken heart. Right now I'm not sure where I would go with it, but I've had a few ideas churning around in my head so we'll see what happens.
I always seem to know how to start and how to finish a story but not how to get from A to B...
I have the same problem. I always know how to start and end a story, but writing the middle seems near impossible most of the time. Sometimes I know what needs to happen in between, but most of the time I don't. It's very frustrating.
^Yeah, the best that I can come up with is 'Joe needs to become brave, so I guess I'll have to show him becoming so...' or 'Jane ends up marrying this guy, so I suppose that I should subtly set that up...'
Anyway, how much does everyone else plan for their screenplay? The first NaNo I attempted I planned just enough to be able to start, the second I improved- a little bit. This time I've improved a lot.
Still working...

I'm thinking that if I do this thing, I'll either do an adaption of a book or I'll do an adaption of one of the stories I've written already. I have several works in progress that I'll probably never finish, my NaNo novel which still isn't finished, and one other book that I actually finished but it's only about 11k words. However, writing a script might actually be a great way to expand that one a bit.
Ack!! Why is this stressing me out?
I haven't even started but I feel like I'm trying to bicycle up a big hill...
I think my problem is, at first it was going to be fun, spontaneous. Yes, have some back-bone to the story, but take it easy, don't worry about it- it's your first draft.
But now I'm concerned that I don't know enough about formatting and I'm going to do it all wrong and have to edit it all later (if I ever do!)
And I'm frustrated because I thought I had a firm grasp on my MC (main character), Shayla. But now she's changing in my mind, and I don't like it. She seems a weaker, wimpier character than before. Before she was practically a 'Lucy'...now I'm not sure.
It doesn't help that every time I wrote about her character I was imaging PC Lucy in her Rust Red dress. And now I picture her like Lucy in her train station coat, sucking in her lip (I even gave Shayla a similar characteristic for when she is nervous). To make things even worse, I keep picturing Bridget (one of the six MCs, but not the main character- that's Shayla) as Susan. Actually, a mix of Susan and DamselJillPole (I watched her Susan voice dub and she's going to play Bridget in my trailer). So I guess I'm picturing Damel as Su playing the part of Bridget...or something just as mixed up.
Please tell me other people can't read my script and immediately think 'oh, Susan and Lucy'...!
Tips, anyone?
