I thought it would be nice if we had a thread where we discussed traditions, favorite hymns, etc that we have for this special day! I mean to start one on Good Friday, but didn't get to it, so that discussion could be included, too.
So, what are some traditions you have for Resurrection Sunday?

Other than going to church and the little ones hunting for Easter eggs, we don't really have any traditions. We have moved so many times that we haven't had a chance to really make very many traditions.
We do have a different lunch menu almost every year. This year we had sandwiches for lunch and baked potatoes for dinner. We went up to the lake not far from here for the weekend and came home this morning. We had church at home after lunch, since my Dad is a chaplain. It was an excellent message.
I made fudge sauce and we had fudge sauce and ice cream for dessert. It was really good, but I think I should have add more powdered sugar.
My siblings and I were playing some of our favorite songs that are very Easterish.
This is Love by Kutless
The Young Man by Robin Mark
Risen Today by Aaron Shust
Passion by Kutless
My Savior My God by Aaron Shust
Right now, I can't remember what other songs we played. If I remember I will post them later.
Happy Easter, everyone!

Well. we're only having Easter this Sunday because the Orthodox have a different way of counting up Easter .

The only thing that my family does every year for Easter is attend the annual Passion Play. It's put on by a university nearby, and goes through Jesus' last few days on earth. It's a very real reminder of all he went through and sacrificed to save the human race.
This isn't a hymn, but one of my favorite songs to listen to during the Easter weekend is Arise My Love, by Newsong. It's a good one.

Thank you so much for mentioning that song, Miss Rosario! I was trying to think of the more contemporary songs I like around Easter... Easter Song, Via Dolorosa, End of the Beginning... and at least one that I couldn't think of enough relevant information to let me track it down. I wonder if anyone has put together an index of songs by theme/calendar appropriateness like the sections in a hymnal?
As for hymns, I think my very favourite is Christ the Lord is Risen Today.
