24 hours!
I saw Hugo. It was good.
It creeped me out a little bit, especially afterwards. Just that machine always being there, staring at him with blind eyes. I really kept expecting it to come to life, so I was living in constant fear of that. And the dreams - were scary.
Unresolved.
Beautiful. The most beautiful movie I've ever seen. Honestly. At first I thought it was animated. It's gorgeous, especially with the 3D which I recommend. Wonderful filming. Wonderful.
The acting was good - not wonderful, but good enough for you to not to think about it being acting. I had a few other small problems with it, people knowing about things that hadn't been explained to them, it all leading up to a big exciting ending - and it being kind of a letdown. Unresolved.
I liked it. I didn't love it, but it was very good.

I saw Tintin this afternoon! One disappointment unrelated to the film was that the Hobbit trailer didn't show in front of it
As for the film
The animation and character design were executed well. The caricature artist in the opening scene depicting the characters how they appear in the original graphic novels was a clever way to introduce the new, realistic look for Tintin. Many of the characters, such as Alan and Bianca Castafiore, looked perfect but Thomson, Thompson and Haddock's noses pointed outwards a little too much I thought.
One unfortunate side effect of transferring Tintin into a movie is that the character Snowy gets greatly diminished. In the books, Snowy thinks in his own little thought bubbles so the readers know that he is just as intelligent as the humans surrounding him, although he cannot communicate with them. In the movies, Snowy's thoughts cannot be heard and he behaves much like an ordinary dog most of the time, leading to a subconscious feeling that he's "just an ordinary dog" and the occasions where he does something smart feel inconsistent with a dog's intellect.
Overall though I did like the movie very much and I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Looking forward to more Tintin sequels in the future!
Just got home from Tintin, excellent movie.
I loved the opening credits, (reminded me a bit of the opening credits for Catch Me If You Can).
Saw it in 3D, I personally thought it looked wonderful. The Hobbit trailer was the first trailer shown. I also give the movie 4/5 and hope for the sequels.
I saw Mission Impossible 4 today... I've only seen the third one a long time ago, but wow, this was pretty good too It was complex but able to follow, funny, and riveting. I found it really interesting to see Brad Bird's change to live action (compared to the Incredibles), and once again am loving Michael Giacchino's score. Definitely a good watch.
Now all I have left to see in theaters is Tintin and I'm done with movie theaters until 2012

Sorry for the double post, but I got to see Tintin (and The Hobbit trailer!) today!
Loved it. At first I thought it was going to be a bit cheesy because of all of the trailers with catchy phrases, but it stayed true to the nature of the comics. The opening credits were so fun to watch... not to mention it had little hints at other adventures throughout that and other parts of the movie
My only complaints are that
Can't wait for the sequel!

Has anyone seen War Horse? It seems interesting.

No, I haven't seen War Horse but I've read a number of reviews and heard it's a great movie, if you enjoy that sort of thing.

Doctor Who - Season 11
I'm not sure I'll like it if it's 100% horse. I'll have to look into it, thanks for telling me.

It's more a boy and his horse story set during WW1. So it's probably more of a "family" war drama.

Oooooh...maybe I will like it then! Yay! If we see it, I shall have to tell you how it was.

We have seen four movies in the past week, I think it's the most in a week I have ever seen!
1. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows:
If you enjoyed the first Sherlock Holmes then you will enjoy the sequel!
I really loved this movie, the forest/gun scene was one of my favorite parts!
I liked Professor James Moriarty as a villain better then lord Blackwood in the first film.
2. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol:
The best of the series so far, it had a great pace from beginning to end, a few twists that I didn't expect and a great cast!
And some more humor then I would have thought, which was great.
Really loved this action flick!
3. The Adventures of Tintin:
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Tintin!!!
Great film that carried the feeling and look of the comics!
I Loved it from beginning to the end!
I really can't wait for Peter Jackson to film the sequel!
The animation was beautiful! The best stop motion animation I've ever seen!
Andy Serkis, Jamie Bell and Daniel Craig did a fantastic job!
I really want to see it again! The 3D was fantastic as well!
And was it just me or did anyone else think that it was Herge! If it was, then that was Great!
I'm so Thankful to both Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson for introducing Tintin to us in the USA where it was not as well known!
If they hadn't I don't think I would ever have known about these wonderful stories!
(If only they had showed The Hobbit Trailer!!!! )
4. War Horse:
A wonderful and moving film! A really touching story, especially for those who love animals, Horses in reticular (obviously ).
It was wonderful written and acted.
It was nice to finally see Benedict Cumberbatch in a film, the whole time I was listening to his voice and trying to picture Smaug!
If you love horses or any animal, I think it is safe to say you will love this film, and maybe shed a few tears, it's all heart.

I saw War Horse this morning. I read the book earlier this Fall so I had great expectations for the movie. I wasn't disappointed. Excellent movie. Half family movie, half war movie.
I enjoyed every minute of it.
Saw the second Sherlock Holmes film last Friday. I'm not a very good reviewer, so please bear with me.
To start off, I loved the first film. I think the easiest way to put it is that I loved the second one even more. All the things I loved about the first film were improved upon, believe it or not : the action, the score, the cinematography..... character development was great. All-in-all, there wasn't a single thing I disliked about it and it's in my top five movie list of all time.
I highly recommend it.
7Chronicles, yes, that's Herge.
Outlier, it looks to me like the sequel will continue the story with Red Rackham's Treasure but it'll have to conclude differently to the album.
My movie review - no spoilers:
Last night I finally saw The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. I've been waiting many years for this movie. While there were some things I would've changed, I really enjoyed it. The movie consisted of most of The Secret of the Unicorn album, over half of The Crab with the Golden Claws and the tiniest bit of Red Rackham's Treasure (about 25% is original content).
PROS: It's Tintin in the flesh! (sort of). Herge! The movie shows the creators had huge love and respect for Herge and Tintin. Opening credits reminiscent of Catch Me If You Can credits - brilliant, amazing visuals that really capture Herge's art style, great acting/voice-acting, attention to detail - lots of easter egg moments for the die-hard Tintin fans. Mostly true to Herge's characters and the spirit of the adventures. Good script with some clever dialogue. Moments of quality humour, and impressive action. John William's music.
CONS: The last act of the movie while exciting and action-packed was a little too-over the top at times and was the weakest part of the script (not bad at all, it just sacrifices story for creative action scenes). John Williams music - it was great but more 'fun' than 'suspenseful'. I prefer much of the music from the early 90's Ellipse/Nelvana TV series. I would've liked to see more of Captain Haddock's angry and creative swearing. The movie lacks some of the finesse and clever character humour found in Herge's albums. Some villains were given less screen time.
Overall, the first 2/3rds or so of the movie are brilliant, the last third is merely very good. Naturally, the movie is best when it doesn't depart from the original stories. It's great to finally see a Tintin movie that's good!
Highly recommended!

But after your review, if i see a film in holiday period, it could be Tintin where as it wasn't going to be before, but you have made me more curious about it now.
