I was really disappointed and actually kind of upset that the new Winne the Pooh movie didn't ask Peter Cullen (who has done Eyesore voice since 1989) to do Eeyore voice! :(
In an interview for the new Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Peter Cullen also does the voice of Optimus Prime)
Peter Cullen said he was very disappointed and confused and didn't know why they wouldn't ask him to voice Eyesore.
Both Eeyore and Optimus Prime are his favorite characters to voice.
I just though it was really sad, because he really wanted to do it and because I love him as Eeyore. :(

7chronicles,
He's a great voice for Eeyore. True. But as many of the original voice actors have passed away- they got new voices for many, I think it would only make sense to recast them all.

Oh yeah, his performance was pretty good, and I enjoyed it.... although I did start to wonder what a guy with such a strong Irish accent was doing in the midwest ;))

yes that would have been a little weird. I will have to wait for dvd.

Just got back from seeing J.J. Abrams Super 8. It's a love letter to the 1970's; (yes, yes, I never experienced the period for myself but all the same it seems to be the case). It's a coming of age story in the tradition of Steven Spielberg (particularly The Goonies) and Stephen King. You want heart-felt drama, intense action, a touch of romance, a huge dose of mystery and intrigue, some scares and comedic moments? See Super 8.
(Warning: not for children - moderate violence/language and some drug references). 8/10

Otherwise, a very good movie.

it's 2:37am as I start to type this. I just got home from watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 2. It was a very bittersweet experience. I'm happy to finally see the conclusion, but with that comes the fact that there will be no more movies. But all things must come to an end, I enjoyed it while it lasted. Best of all is that it went this long with the same cast, (where it could be helped).

The movie was fantastic, several changes from the book that I missed, but that will be true of any movie based on a book- so I don't count it as a negative. For me, it's the best Potter of all! It was just terrific. Simply loved it. The epilogue was great too.

I know it's premature, since I am just coming out of it and I should view it several times before rating it. Let it settle down, but I am currently going to rate it a perfect 10. :)

I saw Captain America yesterday and really enjoyed it. :)
I thought they did a great job at capturig the 1940's time period.
And I thought Chris Evans did a fantastic job at playing Captain America and I also enjoyed seeing Richard Armitage, especially since he is playing Thorin Oakensheild in The Hobbit! :D

So many blockbusters this year. Latest film for me was Cars 2 and the Green Lantern. Still have to see Transformers and Kung Fu Panda and Captain America.

Hopefully amongst the blockbusters in the not too distant future the Narnia name will appear. :)

@cauliflowers: Transformers: Dark of the Moon was a Awesome movie, the best one! :D
If you liked the first or second one, then I think it's safe to say you would enjoy the third one! And like I said I really enjoyed Captain America as well. :)

I also saw Captain America, and really enjoyed the 1940's period as well. loved the cast, great story. No complaints at all. Scene after the credits was merely ok, but basically it served for The Avengers teaser trailer :D

I saw Captain America this early evening and I too enjoyed the 1940's period (I would love to see more of it set in the 1940's). I also realized that where VDT was hard for Markus and McFeely to write---they did a good job with Captain America (a great origin story) and I actually liked their scripted lines. Funny. I'm not really a comic book fan, but I like watching a good film treatment of a comic book.

And the cast was great too, possibly why I liked it so much. Tommy Lee Jones is a hoot in his character. Noticed also Brit actors...Dominic Cooper, JJ Feild (wasn't given much to say...), Richard Armitage (good as a baddie), Hayley Atwell was good as Peggy, and Toby Jones. Oh and Stanley Tucci's good as well as Dr. Erskine and Hugo Weaving as the evil scenery-chewing villain. Really cool, seamless looking special effects to show the skinny Steve Rogers. And Chris Evans played SR/CA well--insightful and intelligent.

I loved the attention to the 1940's Joe Johnston gave--production/art/set design, wardrobe, score/period music...cool end credits images too. I think he's a great director (read somewhere that this was one of the movies he really wanted to make). Also since I am a "watch the credits" type of viewer I did catch the end of credits trailer which most people dashing out missed. Good fun summer movie! Rating it 8/10. :) Edited to add: Oh...and if you want to see the Avengers 2012 trailer you have to sit through all of the end credits as it is at the very very end of them. I would not have known if I had not read reviews alerting this.

I went to see Captain America on opening day and really enjoyed it. THe supporting cast was great and I loved seeing a period superhero film for a change. I liked that they tied it into Thor with the attribution of the Cosmic Cube to Odin and the view of Yggdrasil during the climactic battle. I also thought the love interest subplot was handled better here than in Thor; the last conversation between Steve and Peggy was a lot more emotionally effective for me than Jane and Thor. The teaser trailer at the end has me more excited for the Avengers movie than I was before, which I didn't think was possible.

you hit this perfectly,
while I enjoyed Thor- it can't compare to this one. And the love interest? Again CA was better, Thor's seemed so superficial.

A little off-topic but I had to share this with you guys. This is a picture taken by my brother-in-law in my home town's theater....

I kid you not.

This might be one of many reasons as to why I never go there anymore. :P :))

I don't get it. Is that meant to be an employee's thoughts about the Winnie the Pooh movie? Or something else?
