I saw Thor today, and I loved it! :)
I thought Chris Hemsworth was perfect as Thor and did an awesome job.
I also really like Tom Hiddleston as Loki. :)
I'm not sure how well the film was adapted from the comic, not knowing as much about the comic as I do about actual Norse Mythology.
One of my favorite things was seeing

I saw Thor today, and I also loved it. It's good to have seen Iron Man 2 first, well... basically for the its end of credit scene. :)

And I was very happy to see

Spoiler
Jeremy Renner already in this one, in his role as Hawkeye.
! I didn't expect him until Next year, but oh so good to him now.

Can't wait for Captain America... and then The Avengers!

A couple days ago I saw Source Code. I really enjoyed it. The premise was very interesting, the script was well-written and the characters (that mattered) were well-developed. The story was thought-provoking, the acting was (for the most part) very good. The movie was thrilling and heart-felt and there were even some moments of humour. Despite some large explosions, it was suprisingly non-Hollywoodized (very Twilight Zone-esque). The only thing I didn't like about Source Code was purely aesthetic. Some of the CGI was a bit under-baked and the train design was so ugly (it's no spoiler to tell you that much of the movie takes place on said train). The upside of that, is that the train isn't beautified in any way. The downside is it doesn't make for a very interesting-looking set. Still, that was but a small niggle of mine. Recommended for people who enjoy movies that make them think. Not for children though - contains some disturbing and violent imagery and several instances of strong language.

8/10

I was able to see Water for Elephants yesterday! I wasn't really sure if it would be AMAZING or not, I just thought it'd be a "nice" film. But I ended up being pleasently surprised--it was a LOT better then I'd expected, and I'd definetly reccomend it!
The acting was quite good, especially from Reese Witherspoon and of course Christoph Waltz (he's so good at the villians!). Their characters too, seemed less one-dimensinal then I'd been anticpating. I wasn't terribly wildly excited about anything to do with Rob Pattinson, but he wasn't half bad :P

The only thing that kind of bugged me was I was expecting it to be

Spoiler
A tragedy. I guess the beginning (old guy reminising about a great thing that happened when he was a kid) reminded me of a Titanic-meets-Phantom-of-the-Opera kind of deal. THe whole movie I was sure that either the girl was going to die, or she was going to disappear, or something. I NEVER ever expected them to actually live happily ever after. So I was kinda like "....what??" I don't know, I don't actally mind a tragic ending. The happy ending was nice I guess but I hadn't been expecting it. :P

I don't really want to see Water for Elephants, and not just because it has Robert Pattinson in it. :P While I really like Reese Witherspoon, the whole theme of

infidelity
, and how it was "right" because of the bad situation she was in, didn't appeal to me.

I went to see Bridesmaids last night with my friends... While it wasn't the best movie ever, I found it really entertaining. It's kinda like a chick-flick wedding movie meets Superbad-esque humor. Of course, it was really crass, full of crude humor, swearing (it did deserve it's R rating), and over-the-top/only-in-a-movie situations but I thought it had it's moments and you really feel for Kristen Wiig's character.... Not to mention that the theater that I was in was really relaxed so everyone was laughing all of the time...

Has anyone seen Thor in here? I've heard some good reviews, and I was just wondering what was in it that made it PG-13, so I can tell if I should go with my parents to see it. :)

It's PG-13 for fantasy violence I think. There's no sexual stuff in it and very little to none language. :) I liked it. It was good, clean fun. :D

I saw it the day it came out. It's definitely the fantasy violence that got it a PG-13, since there's maybe two profanities in it and they're minor. No sexual content.

I thought it was a fantastic movie, better than Iron-Man 2 and Hulk and about on par with the first Iron-Man movie. Lots of good humor, good action, gorgeous fantasy worlds, and great acting. I'm looking forward to seeing Chris Hemsworth in more movies.

I was actually a little disappointed in it. None of the human characters got any development, so they seemed kind of flat to me. I understand though that the movie is about Thor, not the humans, but I think they could've don with some more development, particularly Jane. She had no backstory and we had no idea why she was so insistent on figuring out the things she wanted to.

I also thought Thor's transition was much too soon. The movie could've done with another thirty minutes or so, building up the human characters and making Thor's transition from an arrogant man-child to the hero he became.

I must say, however, that Loki was marvelously complex. :D

I think Thor was a very entertaining movie and I recommend it. I do think the first and last third of hte movie were the best though, as the middle sort of lost it's way with the Earth subplot. Still, very good.

I have mixed feelings on Pirates 4. Underdeveloped and unthreatening villain, forced romance subplot between the Missionary and the Mermaid, no great action scene, and weak writing of Jack Sparrow brought the film down from the previous sequels.

On a more positive note, Penelope Cruz was fantastic, the mermaid attack sequence was very interesting, and the film wasnt nearly as convoluted as it's predecessors.

Saw Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides a few weeks ago.
I really enjoyed it. I thought the beginning of the film was a little slow, but I thought once the part with the Mermaids started, the rest of the film paced very well. :)
Really liked how they did the Mermaids in it, I like seeing how realistic Mythological Creatures can get with the technology now a days :p

I also saw Kung Fu Panda 2 last week. I hadn't been planning to, but I went with my younger cousins. :p
I thought it was a decent movie, nothing really special to set it apart from other animated movies, but I thought it greatly improved from the first one (which I also saw with my cousins). :)
