My boyfriend wants to take me to see True Grit, I didn't think at first I'd be into it because westerns aren't really my thing but I'm feeling better about the positive reviews on here for it! :)

I went and saw True Grit with my dad over the weekend and I really enjoyed, my dad who has seen both versions liked this one better. I really want to take argument classes from Mattie- she seems really good at dicussing to get her way :p

this movie was very good and overall quite sweet(maybe not a great word to describe this movie, but hopefully someone understands why I think its like this), I say its good for age 14 up- for some violence and that kinda stuff

I read a review of The Eagle this morning. The reviewer gave it 3 out of 5 stars, but he spent most of the review talking about how bad the guy playing Marcus' acting was, so I was kind of irritated.

Tangled: Pretty decent... I wasn't as amazed as some people I know were... But it was enjoyable enough, and a fun watch.

Tron: Legacy: We didn't see it in 3D, which was, I guess, what made it about twice as good. *shrug* I wasn't a huge fan, but I don't have anything *bad to say about it.

The Eagle: I went with pretty low expectations, and they were surpassed. So I really enjoyed myself. I was pleasantly surprised. It was better then some other more low budget films I've seen. I'd watch it again I think... maybe. *shrug* I didn't feel like I connected to the characters though much... :/

True Grit: Haven't seen, but my brother did, and he really liked it. I heard about the hymn being used as the main base for the soundtrack... interesting. :)

Black Swan: All I'll say is that this movie sounded very very disturbing from what I've read about it.

I have a movie voucher that has to be used before March, so I'm thinking I'll use it for either The Eagle, or The King's Speech. I'm sure the King's Speech is a better movie, but The Eagle also looks good...and Jamie Bell is in it, which is a big pull. decisions, decisions...

A while back I saw a teaser trailer for The Adjustment Bureau, which just opened in the US. It seemed to emphasis the sci-fi aspect of the movie (the guys in the Bureau itself) and I was reminded of the 1980s The New Twilight Episode episode called A Matter of Minutes, in which a couple discovers that there are people outside of time who 'construct' each moment, one at a time. (It's more interesting than it sounds ;)) ).

Later trailers seem to emphasize the romantic aspect of the movie over the sci-fi stuff. I may go see it tomorrow and might have additional comments to offer.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Last night I saw The Adjustment Bureau. It's a low-key drama/romance with the slightest classic sci-fi trappings. Reminiscent in part to Dark City, The Twilight Zone and The Truman Show but very, very different (I enjoyed the movie but it was hugely different from what I expected). Excellent chemistry between leads - Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. The scenes crackle between them, they're like a 21st pairing of Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn - yes, that good! Emily Blunt - wow, so good (beautiful, interesting and a lot of fun). Expect the unexpected.
Warning: brief strong language (one or 2 F words, rest mild language) and some sexual references. 8/10

I keep hearing their chemistry is very good, and that alone is making me excited for it all over again. I think I might catch it in theaters after all. :)

I saw The Adjustment Bureau this past weekend and agree with Warrior's observations. The emphasis is on the romantic element - and Damon and Blunt have good chemistry - as opposed to any sci-fi/mystery element (unlike, say, Inception, which really develops its sci-fi-like dream stuff). This movie is loosely based on a 1950s short story, "The Adjustment Team," by Philip K. Dick, which I believe I read as a kid (hey, that was some 40 years ago; I've forgotten some of the stuff I read back then ;)) ). It has a pretty straightforward plot that's a bit predictable, but still enjoyable.

I saw Tron: Legacy yesterday (in 2-D). It was actually pretty good I thought. Decent storyline, it allows the audience to the main characters right away, it explains the basic knowledge for those who haven't seen the first movie. And the visuals were pretty stunning. Definitely better that Avatar ;)
