I hope Inception makes me think. Did the movie hurt your brain?

Warrior 4 Jesus,
It's complicated, very complicated at times. But I love the way Nolan works with the mind in every movie he does. I think he outdid himself in this one, and no my brain didn't hurt. I was so in awe of what I was seeing and so invested into the movie that I found it easy to follow. But a second viewing is definitely needed to get the things I am sure I still missed.

By FAR the best movie I've seen this year, (I've seen 16 movies that were released in 2010). Best movie I have seen in a LONG time, last time a movie left me this amazed, I think it was Nolan himself with The Dark Knight actually. I've seen great movies since then, but not to this level of awesomeness. #:-s

Sounds brilliant! I love psychological/philosophical movies and this has mind-bending action to boot. I honestly can't wait. Thanks for your help.

I'm so excited to see Inception on Sunday (my birthday)! I've been anticipating it since it was announced. Chris Nolan is one of my favorite filmmakers, and I am a huge sci-fi geek to boot - so him tackling a concept like this, and on such a massive scale, is something I am dying to witness.

Just got back from a second viewing of Inception :D

I thought I had understood the movie the first time, and I pretty much did, but I caught so many things I missed the first time around. I went with my brother this time, and he's confused! Thought it was great, but says he needs to see it again before he draws any conclusion because right now- he can't come to ANY conclusion on it :(

So yes, this movie can give headaches W4J

I got to see Inception Thursday! As much as I liked Iron Man 2, Inception is easily better and if it doesn't get some Oscar nods I will be very disappointed. The acting was top-notch, the plot was brilliant, and I loved the ending once I got over the surprise of that being the ending. I like when a director leaves some things up to interpretation and speculation without copping out on explanation (Lost finale, I'm looking at you :P). Not even halfway through the movie, I was speculating that

Spoiler
Dom's real world was a dream. I'm still inclined to think that that is the case, but I'm glad he had a happy ending being reunited with his kids.
Also, I thought it very appropriate Ariadne was named that, considering her role in the movie.

I've seen some rumors that Joseph Gordon-Levitt could potentially be up for the Riddler role in Batman 3. I doubt it'll come to anything since we also had internet rumors Eddie Murphy would get the role, but I think that JGL would make a fantastic Riddler now that I've seen Inception. He even kind of resembles my mental version of the Riddler. Since Christopher Nolan loves to reuse actors, I suppose it's entirely possible.

There was plenty to speculate about even after the LOST Finale.

I actually think that, much as The Prestige used the structure of a "magic trick" within its own narrative, Inception

Spoiler
performed "inception" on the audience with its ending. Nolan plants the idea in the audience's head that Dom's world might in fact all be a dream - the very same idea that killed his wife, Mal. When in fact it is reality. (I have heard that after the screen cuts to black, you can still hear the top spinning, and then an audible thud as it falls. I'll be seeing it again tonight and will strain to hear over the inevitable audience reaction.) There's other reasons I lean towards "the top falls" as my ending-interpretation but I need a couple more viewings before I can nail down all the details. :]

What a spectacular movie! Easily one of my new favorites.

And yes, I also heard that rumor about JGL being up for the Riddler, and I think he'd work perfectly - not just in the role but in Nolan's established world. I remember reading that it was important to Nolan to cast someone Christian Bale's age to play Joker, because he wanted Batman's enemies be "peers" and foils for him. (Thus the younger take on Scarecrow as well.) JGL fits in that same schematic nicely. And he's got the skinny-slightly-nerdy look to him that fits classic portrayls of Riddler. I'm all for it, but we'll see if it ends up happening! I'm sure sometime during Comic-Con we'll get an official announcement out of WB.

I'm interested in seeing Inception but I haven't seen any good reviews of it; they all seemed so-so. I think The Sorcerer's Apprentice looks fun, though fairly average.

I went to see Toy Story 3 and was disappointed not to see the VDT trailer, but never mind. I really loved the movie though - the people at Pixar have incredible talent. The film wasn't afraid to delve into some pretty dark areas and it did make me cry! I really enjoyed it, and thought it was a very good addition to the other two films.

I don't think I'll see Inception until is comes out on DVD. With a mind boggling movie like that I want to be able to concentrate in my own home. :)

I saw Toy Story 3 on Thursday and absolutely loved it. I think it has to be my favorite then the first two, the story I felt was so much better and I loved the theme of

That clapping monkey. lol! I couldn't stop laughing in the theater or at home =)) .

This movie was so good! ;) :D

@AJAiken, I'm not sure where you're looking that you haven't seen any good reviews of Inception. ;) On IMDB it is listed as the number 3 greatest movie of all time, and on rottentomatoes, which compiles all online movie reviews it's riding high at 86%, with 210 out of 243 reviews of the movie being positive. In other words it's the most critically acclaimed live action wide-release film to come out in 2010.

On the other hand, The Sorcerer's Apprentice is the worst reviewed movie of the year. :)

After seeing Inception for the first time, a week ago today, I was literally shaking after the final shot of the film. Very few movies move me in that way. However, as the week has gone by, I do think that the movie is a tad overrated, although it is still very excellent. I'm going to see it again today because it's a film, much like Nolan's earlier works Memento and The Prestige, that almost requires, and rewards more than one viewing, just because there is so much that you are being required to digest.

One reason I don't love the film though, at least at this point, is that Leonardo DiCaprio's character arc

But I digress, Inception is a very well made movie, with an excellent cast and intriguing story, and is the kind of movie that will make you think, and keep you thinking about it for days to come.

Damsel, you found the monkey to be funny? I found it a bit creepy. Not quite as much as the lazy-eye Mum-ma baby though.

Bkey, yes, I've seen very few negative or even mediocre reviews for Inception. I haven't seen the movie myself yet, I'm seeing it Tuesday. I'm in the awkward position of over-hyping it in my mind but not wanting to be disappointed. I guess that happens with much-anticipated movies.
