*peeks in* Ah, a new post in the Middle Way! I am not sure where everyone else went, but I'm still around. I have been traveling all over quite a bit, I must say, studying legends in the Monastery library.

Undoubtedly there is much to talk about in the Lair given the flood of news on the front page. I even allowed myself (in a time when I was over-bored) to view some of the spoilers. *shrug* At least I have avoided most of them, which I reserve to see for the first time at the Great Viewing. ;) And I must say, I liked what I saw (and that is always a good thing :p)! :)

Hello, your friendly, conversational minion is here! I have frequented the Monastery but haven't been here much. I'm MountainFireflower, and it's nice to meet you all. You have nothing to fear here, I only bring a smile and good conversation. Don't worry about the cloak I'm wearing; it's merely for effect. ;) (And due to the fact that I tend to lurk... as in the case of this thread. )

Yes, there should be much to talk about in the Lair, but strangely it has been rather silent as of late... /:) Hmm...

Greetings My Lady, and MountanFireflower.
I seem to have missed our lupine wanderer. I will never get the hang of all these modern contraptions, whether it be computers, or mirrors.
I have also had a look or two at some of the spoilers of late. Cannot say I am too pleased at some of the wandering from the book I've seen. Dragon/Eustece towing the Dawn Treader will probably get some oohs, and aahs from the younger audience I suppose. The same could be said for the "duel" over the orange.
While I will agree that there are some things that are needed to make the book more "movie friendly" (meaning "exciting" 8-| ) I just wonder how far this will lead. But I know that this converation has been overdone already.
I am wondering how Apted was able to sneak some clues leading up to The Silver Chair into this film. Will we see a green snake slither on board at the Dark Isle?

Oh My! We only half half the amount of pages that the other two do... I say we kickstart ze discussion. What do ye all think of ze clips and Tv Spots? Which be your favorite?

On a non-spoilery note, hath anyone heard anything coming from ze mountains zat myself and ze monks are approaching, or heard of any strange creatures living zere? Also hath anyone seen ze Dark Overlord? I believe ze minions are begining to worry because he hath not been around late.

I cannot say that I know of the dark overlord fellas whereabouts. But I cannot locate the mutant mutts at all. I suspect that they have treed their former master in the woods but have been unable to track them.
Maybe if we follow these howling noises it might lead us to them.

I am afraid that I have nothing more than guesses that I am able to lend to you, wolfloversk, on the strange wailing in the mountains. Yet as I mentioned, I left a sizable stack of legends in both book and scroll form in the Monastery library if someone else would like to take a look. On a more tense note, it is disturbing that the Rose-Tree Dryad seems to have disappeared in the midst of the quest, :-s and I certainly hope she is found soon.

Yes, I have also noted that the Dark Lord seems to have disappeared. Perhaps he has learned how to walk invisibly. I rather doubt that he was treed by the mutant mutts, but perhaps he has been so busy hunting spoilers he hasn't had time to discuss them with the minions. :-??

The Pilgrims have most certainly been talking less. Perhaps they have all already had chances and taken them of having their Blessed Day sooner than the rest of us. Envious though I might be of that, I also feel the entirely contradictory statement that I should not rush mine own pilgrimage, for who knows, mightn't the movie be less enticing to theorize about once all of its mysteries are in the open?

I admit freely that within the past few days, in rising excitement for the Blessed Day (my pilgrimage ends this Saturday) I have slipped a bit in my resolution to view "no" spoilers, :| even though I have still avoided very many. :-$ But I have done as my heart see fit and am satisfied with it.

Because of this, I do at least have some conversation to lend. I have no favorite TV spot in particular (I have avoided as many of them as possible except for the very earliest ones and those that seem to be playing before my eyes every time the television set is turned on). I must say, however, that I very much enjoy those clips recently posted of the Magician's Island and Goldwater Island.

Spoilers discussing Goldwater Island:

Spoiler
I noted that Edmund is the one who seems overtaken by the temptation for gold. When I was watching it, I was thinking that I really would have preferred it be Caspian, but of course I haven't seen the entire scene on the island. Now that I'm thinking about it after the excitement, it bothers me and just doesn't seem at all like Edmund. Maybe it will be clearer in the movie because Caspian will be tempted also or something. I hope so.

My Lady is most likely correct about the dark lord being treed by his own mutts. After all, he created them, and most as like placed some sort of genetic, or hypnotic suggestion in them to keep them from turning on him.
As for the scene from Goldwater Island,

Spoiler
I must agree with your thoughts about Edmunds actions in the scene. I just finished the book, and it was defenitly Caspien who initiated the confrontation. But then Eustas was not a dragon in the book at that time as well. I just hope that the part where Aslan shows Himself is not cut out. That would definitly be a negative in my opinion.

I myself must wait until Sunday to see the film. Mrs. Puddleglum, and I are taking the Junior to see it after service. ( Just hope the popcorn isn't dry by then. Or someone hasn't spilled their soda. Ever get webbed feet stuck in sugary water? Then there are the young cubs crying. ) But I musn't complain of others when I keep forgettin' to take my hat off when I take a seat in front of someone.

Helooooooo.
It looks to me as if the Middle Way is becoming narrower from lack of use. Some of the undergrowth is encroaching on the path, and more than a few branches are overshadowing so much my hat is catching on them.
Well, I suppose a solitary Marsh-Wiggle can get a little shut-eye in all this peace and quiet.

Lays down on the heather next to the path

I think I remember a story about some son of Adam who fell asleep once, and didn't wake til' years later. What was his name? Rumplesomething?

Pulls hat over eyes, and settles in. At least Marsh-wiggles don't grow beards. Sound like itchy things.

Ah, it is true that our beloved Middle Way is sadly abandoned when compared to the Monastery and Lair. But, gentle companions, when you become downhearted, just remember: 'tis the thoughts that count!

Ze wolf returned to ze middle way with arms and paws full of Marshmellows, for her fellow Pilgrims. And she stared a new bon fire since everyone forgot to keep ze old one lit- and went to making smores...

Hmmm? What is that smell? Oh, hello good wolf.

Looks over fire, and smore's. Guess I forgot to light the fire last night. Any wonder I have'nt caught my death of cold.

Yaawwwwn. I imagin there is plenty of the minions and monks now all excited after seeing the movie. I myself must wait until Sunday to go with the Mrs, and offspring.

Thank you no. I cannot stand the overbearing sweetness of s'mores. Tends to do thing to my teeth. Well Perhaps one But don't spread it about. If the other Marsh-Wiggles hear of this I won't dare show my face :-$

Hmmm. Must say that it is good to the tast. I suppose I could justify it by saying it gives you energy.
speaking of which, I best be off. slept in tooo much, and have chores to attend.

Thank you my friend. I shall see you at the Monastary later.

Abandoned? Hardly! We're Pilgrims, we never stay in once place like the Monastery and Lair as our way is not a place but an idea! We explore, learn, and occasionally gather to share tales of our journey.

sits down

Speaking of the journey, there seem to be a perpetual gloom that shadows these vast forums as the harsh reviews and low box-office gather their forces against all.

I ask the important lingering question: Is this franchise nearing its end? :(

I pray it is not so. :-$

I have returned to tell all of my fellow Pilgrims that I have now attended the movie, so my pilgrimage is complete. I must say that I was quite happy that I had been a Pilgrim. I knew enough about the movie, yet didn't feel as if I had seen it all already.

See you all around the forum! :)
