Funny this should come up. I just watched Wild Target. It has a bad Tomato-meter rating, but I thought it was wonderful. I usually think Emily Blunt is a little severe and often her characters are weepy, but she was loads of fun and very funny in this film. Rupert Grint does a great job as well. Nighy isn't the greatest performance, but his character is kind of uptight. Martin Freeman is totally creepy in it. They did something to his teeth so that they were sparkling white and perfectly even and it was just weird, but he's playing the bad guy, so it fit.
I think it had more promise than it actually realized, but it was still worth watching.

I haven't seen Wild Target yet, but I plan to since I bought it and am saving it for my birthday this weekend! ;)) So I'll be able to tell you all what I think of it quite soon. I think I'm going to LOVE it :D

I watched Tron Legacy last night. WOW! It was really amazing. I mean, it was just like I expected, I knew I'd like it that much, but it's still stunning to me. I was tense and nervous the entire movie, we tried to eat Ice Cream partway through, but I couldn't. :P It was done amazingly, had some great moments, was quite scary, and very exciting. I loved it! :D
But I have to say my favorite part was in the beginning, in our world. That was so awesome! :D

I watched that a couple nights ago. I ended up liking it. It had some totally cool action.

Tron Legacy was a really good movie...I don't think quite as good as the first one, but few movies are ever able to pull that off ;)). The Tron universe is one of the very few places where CG absolutely needs to be...I mean it's a computerized world for goodness sake, go bonkers. And they sure did...the new Light Cycles are works of art in their own right. And it was so good to see Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner again in these roles...it's been way too long. :)

I liked Tron Legacy as well :) Never saw the original though, but now I kind of want to. I'm suprised so many other NWers complained about it... my theory is that it is because it was direct competion for VDT, which is ironic because a lot of those same NWers also complain about VDT =)) Either way, if I had the money to buy two movies I would be getting both, unfortunately I don't :(

Tron Legacy wasn't amazing but it was much better than VDT (the movie). The story was a bit run-of-the-mill and much of the acting was very bland but the music and action were great and some of the performances were very good (Jeff Bridges and the David Bowie-look-alike).

The AMC cable channel is running the movie Speed (1994), which I saw last evening for the first time. Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reaves are among those trapped on a city bus that will explode if its speed goes below 50 miles/hour. It's full of the chases, car crashes, and other stunts typical for movies like this, and I found it enjoyable enough in a popcorn-movie sort of way.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

I'm going to get the VDT DVD today and I trying to figure out if I have enough to get Tron (the new one) as well... I'd better hurry up and pick though because we are leaving in a half hour :P

The secret to watching VDT is to think of it as a 40's-50's style film, except in color... it kind of gives it a unique charm in a way... (srry that was a bit off topic :P )

As for Tron I just realized:

Spoiler
It's another instance of the parent dying in a Disney movie :P ...
Kind of a sad ending if you think about it :(

We bought VDT at midnight! :p Plan on watching it this weekend! :)

I liked Tron a lot! :D The Music and special effects made it!
I was really disappointed when I couldn't find the original Tron Movie anywhere! I had wanted to watch it before I saw Tron Legacy.
So I Was very happy when they released the original Tron with the new movie, we plan on watching that next week! :)

My family is a HUGE fan of this film! It is such a good, fun, movie with lots of great action and tense moments, but decent acting and story-telling at the same time. There's a rather now infamous incident from one time we watched it---during the scene where

Spoiler
the bad guy's head hits that red light in the subway and flies off.
. My dad had seen the movie when it had first come out and was anticipating this scene the entire movie, and as it happened he jumped out of the lazy-boy and started yelling
Spoiler
"Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight off!! His head went RIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT off!"
;)) johobbit's son was with us for that, and now whenever we're with her family and the phrase "Right off" comes up, we can never resist pronouncing it with my dad's emphasis "Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight off!" =))

Yeah, I really liked Castor/Zuse.

Spoiler
I'm hoping he survived that explosion, because he was one of the most fun parts of the movie. Actually reminded me quite a bit of the Riddler from the old Batman show.
As for Kevin,
Spoiler
he gave his disk to Quorra. As near as I can tell, the disk is essentially everything that makes him him. So they could probably use it to resurrect him somehow.

Oh Booky I've been hoping they would do that with Kevin, but this is a better topic for the other thread isn't it ;)) However I'd have to say visually its right up there with Star Trek and JP II & III.

Just finished watching Wild Target with my family, and I REALLY enjoyed it! It was the perfect British comedy. I love Emily Blunt in this sort of movie...and I'm a huge fan of Bill Nighy, plus it was cool to see Rupert Grint in a Non-HP role (although I couldn't help but see the similairites in these two roles of his). There were many hilarious twists and it was never the "expected". The acting was spot on and I also really liked Emily's character's wardrobe :P ;))

I just watched Megamind and Tangled yesterday with my little sis. They were both great movies. I loved the comedy in Megamind and the romance in Tangled.
