Well, I saw Thor last night for the second time. I think I liked it much better the second time around. I felt like the story lacked the overall depth that some of the other superhero movies have had, but it wasn't bad. The thing I hated most about it though were the eyelashes they put on Natalie Portman's character. There were a few shots I was wondering how she was even able to open her eyes....
At any rate, having now seen all of the Avengers related movies, I'm going to have to put them in this order, fav to least fav....
Iron Man
Captain America
Thor
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 2 (I don't know what people saw in this movie, but I REALLY did not care for it one bit.)
Looking forward to the Avengers next summer.
Sorry to confuse you, Bella. I do really like Suspian, because I'm a sucker for romance, and I really liked both Susan and Caspian, and thought they were cute together. But I would have preferred Lucpian (or whatever you'd call it. ). I can totally understand how Lucy would have felt - there was this handsome, nice young man, who is enthralled with her sister, and ignores her, she had to have noticed him. And it would have been incredibly sweet, in my opinion....
I agree with you, about Lilliandil. She was a complete sap. xDD Really badly done, not at all what she should have been - I loved Ramandu's Daughter, but really disliked the character Lilliandil.

@Princess Anna: LOL, No worries, If anyone messed with something I really liked I would be very nit-picky about what was done as well.
My mom who watched Star Trek ocationally when she was younger agreed and said that Karl Urban nailed Bones McCoy!
And I also loved captain Kirk (Chris Pine)!
I'm interested in watching the old Star Trek's, if I ever do I'll be sure to discuss them with you, Thanks!

I'm familiar with Star Trek but have never watched a complete episode or movie. That all changed several weeks ago when I sat down to watch J.J. Abrams take on the franchise. It was okay. I thought it was well done (the acting, characters etc.), just a little dull and not really my cup of tea. Visually, I didn't like the movie at all, the art direction was very Trekkie-n. Make of that what you will. And yes, way too much lens-flare (Booky, the amount in Lost and Fringe is neglible compared to here). I found the villain to be incredibly cartoony and dull but I really enjoyed the scenes with Leonard Nimroy and the story plot surrounding him. It's a pity the rest of the movie was so dull.

Doctor Who - Season 11
No worries, Ela! Oh, okay, so you do like the RD/Caspian set up in the books? *didn't know that* I appreciate when Susaspian fans like that. I see your point of view. For me, I don't know if I saw it as Lucy trying to get Caspian's attention (I only watched the movie once, so I could be wrong.), so even though rumours of it scared me, I didn't really see it coming.
Yes, Liliandil! She was really cold and sparkly and not what I expected. I expected this lovely tall lady (NOT blue and shiny. xD) with a very warm nature, long golden hair, and a nice pretty blue dress. (Sorry for how cheesy my descriptions are.) The name Liliandil also sounds like it's from a cheap fanfic. *though she is not a romance fan, Bella would have liked to see a better RD and more Cas/RD*

Yes, Ramandu's Daughter was a sweet, pretty girl in the books, and I really liked her. She was in no way like that in the movie. And I would have been really upset if they'd left her out of the movie, even though I like Suspian better.
I don't think there were any hints of Lucy and Caspian together - I just would have found it really natural, and really sweet, if they had been.
Agreed - when I heard that name, I knew she was doomed. xDD Talk about corny!

Ramandu's daughter was a disappointment when compared to the book I agree. I didn't like Suspian at all however. And I am extremely happy there was nothing involving Lucy with Caspian, as he is portrayed so much older than her in the movies. It wouldn't have been right.
*clasps his hands together and has huge stars in his eyes*
If only we could have witnessed the (imagined) beauty off Claspole, or Eucy, or Brangelina....oh, wait...

@Shadow LOL wow.... Brangelina XD
Claspole? Eucy? UGH
LOL, Ela, I see where you're coming from, but my opinion is identical to narnian1's.
I think we should remake the Narnia movies, with a really nice RD...one day.
Shadowlander. The "with stars in his eyes" and "Bragelina" =
What is Caspole?? Caspian and Jill?
Eucy. That's just wierd.

XD You're hilarious, Shadowlander.
Actually, though, there WAS Lilliandmund. Remember the "I can change forms." "No!"

O.K, getting back on subject....
Last night I finally watched Tron: Legacy (2010). I must say, it's one of the few movies that actually lived up to all the praise it got. I was somewhat skeptical of how good it would be going in (thanks to sooo many rave reviews), but I was happily blown away by the film.
The story was solid, if a tad predictable and not very deep. The acting was fine for the most part, though there were times that Jeff Bridges (as Flynn) seemed a tad stiff in his line delivery. Despite acting like a bit of a jerk, Sam was actually a likable character. All the supporting cast did a good job with their respective characters.
The visuals/special effects.... Wow. Just, WOW. This probably the first mostly CGI rendered film (with live actors) that I've seen where it actually all looks REAL. Yes, Avatar looked stunning, but there was always something nagging me about the Na'vi not looking quite "organic" enough.
The production design was amazing as well, sortof a cleaner version of Blade Runner (1981) if that makes any sense. Pretty much my only gripe with the special effects and all would be CLUE. While I really enjoyed that characters ties to Flynn, the CGI for his face just looked too... high scale video game-like. It looked great for a second, but then you realized something was kindof off about his facial movements...
The score was great, fitting the film perfectly and also making for a good standalone listen. I thought the cameo by Daft Punk was a clever idea as well, though you have to look fast for them. I will say I still dislike the "Cyber bar" music. >_< It was irritating on the album and it was annoying in the film.
Also not sure if this was intentional or not, but I loved some of the little nods to other Sci-Fi films sprinkled throughout the movie. Did anyone else notice the nod to 2001 in Sam's room when he is at Flynn's house (in cyberworld)?
So, all in all I really enjoyed Traon: Legacy. It's not a great film, but it's fun and has some of the best and most imaginative visuals I've seen in awhile. Highly recommended to all. 4/5
P.S, I LOVED the starfighter things near the end!!
Avvie by the great Djaq!

@Shadow LOL yes, anything can come true if you just believe! (and give the filmmakers your ideas..... )
