I finally got around to watching the new Tron movie last night, and wow! It was pretty cool! The effects were AMAZING but the storyline was just average. My main complaint was that it felt kinda odd that the movie's called tron legacy and the actual character tron in general doesn't get much time in the film... it kinda made me feel like the title was there just for continuity. And the young Jeff Bridges was creepy :-s ... Still liked it though :)

I saw the movie "Cats And Dogs: Revenge OF Kitty Galore" last night while babysitting and I was all prepared for it to be totally dumb/slapstick humor, and while it had some of that, it was actually enjoyable. the characters reminded me of "The Incredible Journey" slightly and I've always liked that movie so that might be part of why I like this movie :D

*it's been more than a week since my last BP, (not because I didn't see one but because the day I did I had been extremely tired and slept through most of the movie. Will be re-watching it*

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (IMDb Top 250- #18)

My girlfriend and I saw Disc One on Saturday and Disc Two today, extended edition. Last night she was very into it, asking questions- never has she read the books or seen the movies. She loved it yesterday and was upset when the movie just stopped. We finished today and again she just looked at me like.... WHAT?! It just stopped! I laughed both times because I knew it would happen. But she loves the story, and that's the good part. I've loved this movie since I saw it a few years after its release- I had read the books before the movie released though, (unaware there even was a movie being made).

Excellent story, I love Frodo and Gandalf. Galadriel in Lothlorien is always a scene I look forward to. I love the shots of Gollum, though few. The score is just amazing of course. I can't say anything bad whatsoever about this movie. The only thing I was initially upset about was the absence of Tom Bombadil, really enjoyed his chapter of the book. But his exclusion makes perfect sense from a movie perspective.

This keeps its rating of 10/10 from me

Yeah you can't go past the LOTR movies. My Mum (after saying for years she wouldn't watch them because she hates ugly creatures - esp Gollum) watched it for the first time about 12 months ago. She absolutely LOVED it!!!!!!! :D She wouldn't stop watching till we were through all three movies!! It remains one of our favourite films ever, I think :)

Do you love "The Highwayman" by Alfred Noyes?
If so you might like to see my sister's dramatization of this poem through her photography!

Yesterday night, my friends and my sisters and I watched Peter Pan, the recent version with real people and Rachel Hurdwood as Wendy and Jeremy Sumpter as Peter Pan.

It was very well done. The script captured the whimsy of the book by Sir James Barrie in that it danced on the edges of reality. It lived in a world that was inhabited by fancy, where the strange was believable and where hope and fidelity lived in parents' hearts. The bits with the woman's kiss and the window having to stay open, and sewing a shadow on are just a few of those fancy-filled moments.

The only bit that I did not like was that the climax of the film was put in the wrong place. It was in the whole sequence where

Spoiler
Tinkerbell had died to save Peter
and everyone everywhere was crying, "I do believe in fairies! I do! I do!" The sequence was so long and made to be so emotionally important that when the actually climax happened, it paled in comparison. The pacing was off there.

Other than that, it was a pretty good movie and fun to watch. Very magical.

"Let the music cast its spell,
give the atmosphere a chance.
Simply follow where I lead;
let me teach you how to dance."

sweeetlilgurlie,

I agree with you 100% on Peter Pan, I remember I loved it when I bought it. Watched it endlessly, however I never did like the pacing there in the end. I don't watch it half as much now.

I haven't seen Peter Pan in AGES, but when I was younger I LOVED it. The acting and effects (from what I recall) were pretty decent and the soundtrack is really good. A interesting bit of trivia is that the same actor played Captain Hook and Wendy's father...

I never saw that version of Peter Pan, but now you are making me want to. :)

That's actually a stage tradition. It's a very interesting one since it seems to imply that there is some element of make believe to their time in Neverland. And that Wendy has an atrocious relationship with her father.

Yup! even in Disney's animated version the tradition was kept. Same actor voice both- the father and Captain Hook.

Peter Pan (2003) is the one mentioned above. Disney's version was (1953).

Hmm... I knew it was a stage tradition but I just presumed that was the psychological angle to the whole story of Peter Pan (at least in regard to the movie - Hook).

I watched Tangled last night; my third time, and first time out of theatres. Sometimes when I watch animated movies for the first time on our small screen, I'm disappointed, but I'm glad to say that I loved it as much as ever. It honestly has to be my favorite animated movie; something I can watch over and over again. I really love it. :D And I cried as much as ever!!!
My Mom was sitting in the same room as us as we watched it, and it didn't take long for her to set down her laptop and concentrate on the movie. :D

@narnian1: You fell asleep during The Fellowship of the Ring! :-o
LOL, I guess it didn't help that the Extended Edition is a decent amount over Three hours! ;)
Glad to hear you still enjoy the movie! :D

The Lord of the Rings will always be my favorite movies!!!! :D
I was ten years old when I first sat down in that theater and for the first time heard the story of Frodo Baggins and The One Ring! :) But I can honestly say it feels like yesterday! :) Those movies have stood the test of time for me, they hold a very special place in my heart, good, good memories! :)

not exactly, I fell asleep on another movie which I didn't name. That other movie needs a rewatch. But I have fallen asleep on LOTR before.
